View Full Version : The Jelly Bean Game
powbangzooom 04-29-2009, 10:01 AM Hello out there all of you Honeymoonies:wave:
We all remember one of Ralph's crazy hare-brained schemes when he thought he was gonna win a cash prize but it turned out to be only a coupon.
So it got me thinking of trying to guess how many items were in the Kramdens' dresser. In this game you will list any item(s) you can think of that were either in or on the dresser at one time or another. If you can name the episode or the amount of items you will get extra credit. If you are a true-blue fan, you might even be able to tell us how many different dressers were used on the show. Any episode ever made can be included.
I am going to guess that we can come up with 75 different items inside the dresser.
1-white glove possibly left by William Churchill in "Pardon My Glove"

Well, if you're going to call this game "Jellybeans", then I'll start off with something from that episode:
#2 - A $5 bill taped to the bottom of the top drawer by Ralph, to hide it from Alice.
Bill S. 04-29-2009, 04:19 PM Nice thread idea! I might have to do some studying for this one, but for now I'll put:
3. Ralph's hat - he usually placed it on top of the dresser when he got home.
dahatman 04-29-2009, 06:15 PM Why is there only one pair of my pants in that draw???
Frank Gannucci 04-29-2009, 11:34 PM From "Letter To The Boss":
#4 36 underwear sleeves. (Alice cut off the left of Ralph's underwear sleeves because that is the arm that he puts outside the window of his bus. Question: Why couldn't Alice just throw them away?)
Honeymooners_Myspace 04-30-2009, 04:41 PM #5 - What about "The things that can wait for tomorrow"... The Man From Space (Classic 39 episode).
Larry Surrell 04-30-2009, 08:57 PM In at least 2 episodes that I know of there was a telephone on the dresser.
Here's a stupid one: Norton's elbow. He used a pulled out drawer to lean on while watching TV!
Honeymooners_Myspace 04-30-2009, 10:28 PM Ok, we must correct the tally here first... when Frank posted his Jellybean, it should have been #5 instead of #4... I know that we're celebrating Steve's Emancipation (our new message board member), but I think Frank had a little bit too much cold grape juice to drink ... hehe!... so now we're up to eight items mentioned, including "a telephone and Norton's elbow" by Larry... lol...
#9 - How about this one... the drawers themselves when they were placed on top of it (Norton's Federal Case idea lol)... from 'A Woman's Work Is Never Done' when Norton helped to move the dresser so that Ralph could clean behind it while Alice was working down at Krausmeyer's Bakery stuffing jelly into doughnuts... 1-2-3 LIFT!!!!

#10-A pair of small scissors. "One Big Happy Family" Ralph: If you weren't a $600 deduction, would you get yours!
Honeymooners_Myspace 05-01-2009, 09:02 PM #11 - Mrs. Rafferty's cake which Alice hid in the dresser from Ralph in 'Ralph's Diet' (Lost Episode) ----> http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/263/ralphsdiet1s.jpg
(Obviously there are a couple of other things visible on top of the dresser in this photo, one of which Bill S. already mentioned, but I guess we'll leave the other item for another post... lol.)
Larry Surrell 05-01-2009, 09:45 PM #12 - A water pistol (was it Tommy Manicotti's?) in Funny Money.
powbangzooom 05-02-2009, 08:58 AM Being they were all in the same episode, I'll name all three. The episode is "Promotion"
#13-Brown bag full of money.(probably $75 of one dollar bills)
#14-Pillow Cases
#15-Bed sheets
Ralph:And I won't need that lunch box anymore. From here on out, you can start packing my lunch in a briefcase.
#16. As referred to in the "Better Living Through TV" episode: Wallpaper that glows in the dark (for all the "greenies" out there concerned about alternative energy).
Larry Surrell 05-03-2009, 03:55 PM #17 (Thanks to powbangzooom for this one) - Ralph's lunch box
I watched some classic 39 episodes last night. Let's see if I can remember all the items I saw on and in the dresser. In all 3 episodes I watched there was:
#18 - A silver looking vase or candy dish.
In 'Twas the Night Before Christmas:
#19 - Various Christmas gifts
#20 - Ralph's coat (Ralph took his coat off when he entered the room and threw it on the dresser).
In A Matter of Record (in addition to lots of unrecognizable junk):
#21 - A deck of cards
#22 - Alice's Mother's jacket
#23 - Johnny's stickball bat
In Oh My Aching Back:
#24 - A thermometer
#25 - Ralph's bus driver jacket
#26 - Ralph's Raccoons bowling jacket (that dresser seems to take the place of a coat rack!)
#27 - Ralph's bowling bag ball, I mean bowling ball bag
#28 - Ralph's bowling trophy (Alice hid it in the top drawer before Ralph came home from work)

Hey Larry... VERY good sir, but...
ALRIGHT!!! ALRIGHT!!! ALRIGHT!!!!
Larry Surrell 05-03-2009, 08:21 PM Hey Larry... VERY good sir, but...

Geesh, what a grouch!
I think powbangzoom is right; if I could see that many items in just 3 episodes there easily has to be 75 things in or on the dresser.

Woo! Woo! Brother Surrell! Those wheels are turning now!
I forgot to add another one from "One Big Happy Family"
#29-The newspaper
Bill S. 05-04-2009, 06:21 PM From "New Bowling Ball" (1952):
#30 - Ralph puts his hat and coat on top of the dresser when he gets home, but since I already mentioned his hat, I'll just put his coat.
#31 - Ralph also puts his new bowling ball, "black beauty," on top of the dresser, before he gets his finger stuck in it.
#32 - Can opener. Alice: "Right in the drawer where it always is, stupid."
From "Six Months To Live" (1952):
#33 - The hand mirror that Ralph uses to look at his tongue is on top of the dresser.
Honeymooners_Myspace 05-05-2009, 07:32 PM http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8306/funnymoney1.jpg
#34 - some type of oriental looking ceramic decoration in 'Funny Money' (Classic 39 episode)...
At the beginning of this game Charlie (powbangzoom) also said that we could name different dressers from the episodes if they have changed... so I must mention that there is a totally different dresser near the middle of this same episode, than there was prior because Ralph went out and bought all the new furnishings with the counterfeit money, which included a new dresser.
"...Oh and furthermore... Yooooouuuuuuu........ are a BUMMMMM!"
Larry Surrell 05-06-2009, 08:30 PM In "The $99,000.00 Answer"
#35 - Sheet music
Honeymooners_Myspace 05-09-2009, 02:40 AM #36 - Ralph's Racoon Lodge hat - 'A Weighty Problem' (Lost Episode)...
Ok, I'm going to explain it to you like I would explain it to a child with a five-year-old mentality... which is giving YOU the benefit of the doubt!...... lol...
...right before Ralph goes into the bedroom to prove to Alice that he can still get into his Racoon Lodge jacket AND button it, he pulls his Racoon hat out of the top dresser drawer and puts it on.
Larry Surrell 05-09-2009, 07:52 PM Since we're counting different hats as separate items - from The $99,000.00 Answer:
#37 - Ralph's dress hat. When he comes home from being on the quiz show he puts his dress hat on the dresser.
From Please Leave the Premises:
#38 - Dining room chairs when the dresser was being used as a barricade.
Also from Please Leave the Premises when Ralph and Alice were out on the street:
#39 - A newspaper
#40 - Alice's purse
#41 - Alice's suitcase
#42 - Snow
Larry Surrell 05-16-2009, 10:22 PM From The Babysitter:
#43 - The phone installer's screw driver
#44 - The phone installer's pliers
#45 - The phone installer's tool box
#46 - A towel or cloth that Alice used to wipe the phone
#47 - A pad of paper
#48 - A pencil
#49 - Norton's bowling ball bag
