Just got this E-mail from a friend of mine. Apparently, she was a crime victim last week  and is still totallly shaken up about it. Here's her story. Don't let this happen to you!!!

________________________________________________

Last week, I was out at the mall by myself doing a little shopping. It was late and I was tired and hungry, so I went to the food court and bought myself a burger, fries, and a Pepsi. I decided because it was such a nice night, I'd sit on a bench outside and eat. While I was eating, two handsome, muscular young men approached me. They were gorgeous! They had taken off their shirts and were flexing their ample muscles when once of them noticed me, smiled, and said I was the hottest woman he had ever laid eyes on. I was totally taken aback! We flirted for several moments before he and his friend suddenly had to leave. It took me a few minutes to realize those two men had stolen my purse!

This happened Saturday night, Sunday night, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday morning, and possibly tomorrow night! Now, does anyone know a cheap place to buy purses?

Ditto, Monar. Those guys would take one look at me and shake their heads, then move on!

i think it's important to keep yourself from getting distracted by strangers under any circumstances. i never trust those who try to start conversations with me. the biggest red flags are when they do something to raise your emotions, like in this case. you'll be too into the moment to suspect anything.

This is exactly the reason why I use a purse with a long strap and zippers on it, so I can put it on my other shoulder and it rests on my hips.

This was just a joke E-mail I got, but I do agree that a person can't be too careful.

Sounds like a glurge to me.
I don't understand why pocket books are such a big deal these days, they are cumbersome and hard to carry at times. You also put it in the kinderseat of the cart where all the major germs are.
I usually wear pants with pockets to carry around cash and I usually leave my cell phone and wallet full of AAA, SS and ID cards in the car for emergencies.
