Here's a brand new one, and a link to the old. First complaint, it's too HOT at 93 degrees.

I just got back from the dentist. Good news and bad news. The bad news is that the tooth isn't just cracked, it's infected. The dentist said that I could either have it pulled (its the tooth at the far back of my mouth) or have a root canal. So now I have to go see an oral surgeon. Since I don't want to miss any more days of work this week, I am going to made the appointment for next week. The dentist gave me some pain killers and an antibiotic. The good news, the rest of my teeth are in perfect shape!

I'm sorry to hear about the book buyback, Brent. That is so typical though. $3dollars for an $80 book. They probably have a new edition for next semster, which as Cathy quite correctly pointed out, the only difference is probably the cover.

The pain killers and antibiotics are beginning to work. However, with all cases when my body is trying to adjust to a new medication, they are making me feel sick. I've already thrown up twice, am weak and simply don't feel good. :(

No, it's not sulfa. This is a pretty normal reaction for me. The getting sick. It happens all the time when I'm put on a new medication. Also, the dentist did warn me that I would probably feel like this. The good thing is that even though the tooth still hurts, it is not throbing like it was. I am also glad that the infection was discovered today. The dentist told me that if I had waited just a few more weeks, the infection would have been so bad that I would have probably ended up in the hospital.

I called the oral surgeon early this morning. Because of the infection, he wants to see me tomorrow. The surgeon that I was referred to is in the city and my appointment is at 7am. I never knew a doctor to start that early. Since I live about an hour outside of Chicago, I am going to have to get up really early tomorrow morning. Though to have the tooth worked on, I think it will be worth it. Since it is the farthest tooth in my mouth, I've decided to just have it pulled.

I realized this morning that in June it will be 14 years since I graduated from high school. Wow! Even though I would not want to be in high school again, or a teenager again for that matter there was still some good times in high school, especially my junior year, that I do miss and have some fond memories of. :)

I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled, and my appt was at 7:30am, as I recall. I think something to do with letting people be done with their mandatory pre-op fasts earlier.

I was on the table for that by 8am, and before I knew it, it was all over. lol so yeah. Has the surgeon requested that you fast beforehand?

Went to the Dr. yesterday for another diabetes check-up and things aren't getting any better. He put me on antibiotics plus gave me 2 additional prescriptions. Luckily all 3 were covered under Wal-Mart's $4 plan so that was good. The pain in my legs has gotten worse and some days it's all I can do to walk but he wants me to try exercising as much as possible. He also wants me to lose weight and that's been the hardest thing for me to do. I currently weigh 260 but would love to get down below 200. My blood pressure is still in normal range so that's one thing I don't have to worry about.

It's still considered ice-cream if it isn't made with dairy or sugar and it's actually very good but the flavor choices are limited. Ben and Jerry's might not have any in the stores but there are other brands. It doesn't have to be made with dairy to be called ice-cream, Soy works just as well.

I'm glad that you don't have diabetes right now but if you take in a lot of sugar you run the risk of developing it later on in life and I hope that doesn't happen. I was 42 when I was diagnosed and I was a sugar freak at your age plus it runs in the family so theres another factor.

Yeah that's true, Soy works as well for diabetes patients. Thanks a lot Charles, I appreciate it and hope I really don't get it either. But it sucks cause my uncle John, on my Dad's family has it (but he eats a lot and takes in a lot of food & liquids) & on my mom's side my grandfather has major diabetes so I hope I don't get it :(. Well I'm 20 now and am not lactose and tolerant like my cousin is and I'm half your age so I don't know if I will get it. I love sugars, I drink Coca Cola and soda, but not everyday or a lot. I do eat a lot of foods with sugar & snacks with sugar, so I am essentially starting to put a target on my back, right? I just need to know how to have sugars but not get diabetes & good prevention of it as well. Or at least avoiding it, I know if you get it, you get it and nothing can be done, but avoiding it up until the age where average diabetes patients get it, is what I want to avoid. Thanks for helping.

Ugh...I'm really worried about one of my classes. I decided to take an acting class as an elective because I've taken acting classes before and liked it. I made the wrong choice; this has been the worst college course I've ever taken. The professor is very arrogant and all the people in class think they are the best thing since sliced bread. For this reasons I developed "stage fright" and I have been absent a lot. Now I'm worried that I will get a bad grade and it will ruin my GPA (which is excellent), and I have A's in my other classes. I can't withdraw from the class because it may affect my Pell Grant. I'm really stressed about this.

Hopefully this little mistake I made won't ruin my plans of going to law school.

How much longer is the class?? Hopefully you can get through it OK. :bighug:

I'm sick of this ****ing ****. Now I don't feel like writing for this blog at all. today is four years since i had a friend die in a car crash. i really never got over the shock of it. just a few hours before she died, she was with the rest of our choir working on choreography for a cheesy 60's song we were doing. i was so used to seeing her in class every day, it took months for me to stop absent mindedly thinking i would see her again. even now, sometimes when i really think about her or look at pictures of her, i can't believe she's gone. it's so unreasonable for a free-spirited 15-year-old girl to lose her life in the blink of an eye. it makes me frustrated, really. maybe i'm rambling now...it's been a long time since i've let out my feelings about this.

last year's anniversary was the day that someone decided to tear me apart. i don't know if he forgot what day it was or what, but talk about adding insult to injury.

I worked it last Summer... oh my gosh, it was so horrible... not just the customer service part... but the women I worked with were very... hmmm what's the word I'm looking for... Uppity? Yeah, close enough. First of all, it was a fashion boutique and everyone who worked there was into the, shall we say "physical" part of beauty... unfortunately, it didn't manifest on the inside. :( All they talked about were the latest fashions and who they were sleeping with. It got pretty graphic... I finally decided I'd be better off jobless and going to school than making minimum wage and getting super-depressed over the work.

Awww  When did you work in customer service, Monika?

I worked it last Summer... oh my gosh, it was so horrible... not just the customer service part... but the women I worked with were very... hmmm what's the word I'm looking for... Uppity? Yeah, close enough. First of all, it was a fashion boutique and everyone who worked there was into the, shall we say "physical" part of beauty... unfortunately, it didn't manifest on the inside. :( All they talked about were the latest fashions and who they were sleeping with. It got pretty graphic... I finally decided I'd be better off jobless and going to school than making minimum wage and getting super-depressed over the work.
I happen to work at a call center - and have taken many, many orders over the phone in my day. Not to mention that I worked the box office at a movie theater for over 6 years and answered the phone there, too.

"I have not yet begun to fight! Don't give up the ship! Have it your way!" - that quote was said by Balki in a Perfect Strangers episode. I think it fits right in here.

Seriously. **** this state. **** the guys who are native to this state, as well. I've always hated this state and now my desire to get out of here is stronger than ever.

I FINALLY got the one thing I wanted, which is a full-time job, so I can FINALLY seriously save up to get out of here. I had other things I wanted to get done first before I started diving headfirst into saving up to leave, and now I have done them all. In the span of six months, even!

As far as I'm concerned, this whole state and the guys who live here can die in a ****ing fire. THEY ARE NOTHING TO ME NOW. **** YOU, NORTH DAKOTA MEN.

I hate people today. I've had some major drama in my life and it just came to a head this weekend.

People that I thought were friends have been talking about me behind my back. Then when I find out about it, they act as if nothing's wrong.

I seriously spent most of the weekend crying and didn't do hardly anything. I was actually glad to be back at work.

Sometimes parents and people in general can be downright insensitive to other peoples feelings.

My dad was like that. Sometimes I felt like he didn't love me and my sister. I finally had it out with him one night and surprisingly, it made things a bit better.

I hope your mom wakes up and realizes what she's doing. To you and your sister....

I love rainy days too! There is nothing like a good storm. Storms are the perfect sleeping weather. I sleep like a baby when there is a storm happening outside. Storms are great for reading too. Especially scary novels.

Storms are also great for watching horror movies. I remember the first time I watched The Shining. It was late at night and there was a huge thunderstorm taking place outside. There's the scene where Danny goes around the corner on his big wheel and comes face to face with those creepy twins. The second he went around the corner and came across those girls there was this massive sound of thunder outside and let me tell you, Kim, I must have jumped five feet in the air.

I'm doing okay, Kim. My gums are still a little sore around where the tooth was pulled. I know it will be like that for a while though. I remember when I had a tooth pulled in 2000, I think the gum was sore for a month or so. It isn't bad pain or anything, but I can tell there was work done. My stomach is still a little sensitive to the medication, but it hasn't been too bad. I'm just thankful that I'm not suffering from the pain that I was a week ago. I have my life back and that feels good. :)

Before going to bed last night, besides for saying a prayer for Lauren, I also said one for you and your husband. I know you and he are going through a difficult time. However, I know he loves you very much and that you love him very much, and that I think that is a great place for both of you to be. I truly believe that you and him are soulmates and will make it through this difficult time with a relationship and love that is stonger than ever. :)

This is something I can relate to so well. All my life I have never fitted in anywhere. Not with my family, friends, co workers, classmates or anybody. For years it bothered me because I thought something was wrong with me, and I tried changing myself to fit in with people and so that girls would like me. It didnt work and I was more misreable before. I know that I will never fit in anywhere and that I will always be the oddball that will always stand out, but I have learned to accept it and to accept who I am and to be myself. If people are cool with that then thats fine. If not then thats fine too. Dawsons just be yoursels and be who you are. The people who matter will dig you as you are.

I know one reason I don't fit in at work is because I'm the youngest by 10 years or so, I'm single and everyone else is married with kids, etc. I am also the only person who doesn't like one of our co-workers and I think it makes me mad mostly because it's like, am I the only one that can see she's a hypocritical :censored:? But she's one of those types that's popular with everyone and probably has been all her life. I can't really do anything about it, but yet I worry about it anyway.

I was in band for four years, and the last day was very emotional. I still recall how sad I felt that day. I couldn't believe that four years had gone by so quickly.
That was me and drama. I also cried at the end of swing choir...even though I was never in it. lol

I felt the same way. I was in band from 6th grade on and my last day was really hard. I still miss it, we had so much fun together :(

As I'm sitting here posting, I realized that I contribute absolutely nothing to this site. I've made some great friends here, which is what keeps me coming back, but to the boards itself I really offer nothing. I'm not a great moderator like Janice, I'm not funny, I'm not insightful. Nothing.

I know this is a pity post if there ever was one.

I don't know Mike- you are a great member to have around these boards & yes you do contribute, don't say that. I disagree with you.

it was the same way for me with choir. it changed my high school experience and i still really miss it. i was on top of the world there and looked at as a leader, and now i feel like a small fish in a big pond. it's much more demanding and competitive in college.

nah, it's my graduation cap on fire. let's just say some things happened that night that completely tarnished the memory. i purposely burned it and took a picture of it in mid-demise just a few months ago because i was still upset about it and wanted to symbolize my resentment.

Thanks, Kim. :) I knew that I could count on you for support. I was just feeling a little down last night. It had very little to do with SO, actually. Honestly, I was thinking about Kelly. I was also thinking of our mutual friend (Kelly and mine) who I'm not really close with anymore. I am very happy to call you a friend too, Kim. :)

Geez louise, Mike! That is so NOT TRUE!!! Your posts are always interesting, and plus, you are a super awesome guy! You are crazy for thinking otherwise.. ugh, it gets me down to hear other people talk about themselves like this... it seems to be a common theme. I mean, my gosh, Mike... whenever I see that you've posted on a thread, any thread, I always go to read it... cause you always contibute, and I think we often share the same views. I don't know... I kind of admire you.:D You're such a future college professor... you like, have this wisdom about you... it's really cool.;) So, I'm telling you this strictly as a friend, from future college teacher to future college teacher... so don't get offended. Suck it up, man! Put your head up high and walk with a bounce in your step... cause I SAID SO! You have too many people who care about you... and have no right depressing us with this nonsense about what you say not being good enough! :(
And, please, I'm only saying this because I think you're worth saying it to.

Whew! Now give me hug! :bighug:

Cathy... you are so intelligent, and caring, and kind... not to mention quite beautiful... and I feel like you just don't see it... and it makes me really sad. :( But me telling you this isn't going to make you feel better... it has to come from your own heart... so I pray that you (and Mike as well) are able to see what true gifts you really are. ;)

Thank you, Mattie. :) I am feeling much better tonight. I have the day off tomorrow and am really looking forward to it. :) I would like to thank you for your kind words. You have such a beautiful soul. :) And you are wise beyond your years. When I read one of your posts, I always say to myself, "This girl is 19?! No way!". :)
