I love a good romantic comedy, or chick lit in general.

I don't care for sappy romances and action/adventure stories and I won't read murder mysteries.

Action adventure, classical literature, mysteries and international, multi-generational sagas always capture my interest! :)

I don't read much fiction at all, but when I do it's always a multi-generational historical/cultural saga, a la James Michener. I get totally engrossed, but because they are long, take me quite a while to finish, like several weeks.

I forgot about that. I like to read those books too. Have you read the Yada Yada Prayer Group series, Monika? I read them over the summer and enjoyed them.

All are fiction:

Suspense
Thrillers
Private Investigator/CIA fiction
Medical Suspense
Romance, including comedic, and suspense
Murder Mystery (as long as there isn't graphic violence)
Animal Stories

Cozies? I like those too.

Historical fiction all the way. Love Philippa Gregory and all the corset-rippers! :winkgrin You're also likely to find me reading the classics: Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and (my namesake) Emily Bronte.

My deep, dark secret is that I have a ton of V.C. Andrews books in my bedroom. But I never let anyone catch me reading those in public! :nonono:

It depends, really...some of the books I read can't easily be fitted into a singular genre. There are some genres that I don't usually read, but that I do enjoy if they're blended with someone else.

For instance, I haven't read a lot of science fiction. I don't dislike SF, it's just something that I haven't tried to read much of. But I do like Robert Heinlein's SF novel aimed at children/teenagers, called Have Spacesuit -Will Travel. One of my favourite books is A Wrinkle in Time which is a blend of science fiction and fantasy. But there are other fantasy books that I'm not keen on and some science fiction books that I'm not keen on.

Basically, I couldn't really say that I really dislike any genre. But I don't always like everything included in each genre either, even the genres I read most.

I voted for "Murder Mystery" and "Other" although in actual fact it's been a long time since I read any murder mysteries.

Lately I've been reading a lot of children/teenage fiction (I still like to read books for kids) and General Fiction. I do like to read fantasy/sci-fi/action-adventure too, but not always predominantly.

No, never heard of that series before.

I can't even remember the last fiction book I read. You'd have to hold me at gunpoint to get me to read Harry Potter, and even then I'm not so sure I would. lol! I'm a non-fiction guy myself.
