You really should spend less time watching TV and more time learning how to speak and write in English. Oh, and a little typing practice wouldn't hurt either.

I certainly agree with you there. I won't waste my time reading posts like that.

Before people start blasting me for being insensitive, let me just say that I work in special education and I would never allow a student to pass in a paper that looked like the first post in this thread.

Roseanne - I started watching it recently, mainly b/c it's not being overplayed as it once was. Some episodes were surreal.

They shouldn't be picked on for their spelling and grammar, that was NOT the point of Tubehead's thread.

The Office (and I love it!).

I totally agree...what is wrong with people these days? Good God. I don't come into a thread to read criticisms from the grammar police.

Back to the subject of the thread, one show I just started watching was the Big Bang Theory. I love it. It gives me hope for the future of sitcoms.

Scrubs -- although I've watched some episodes in the past and thought it was OK, I'm now watching (and enjoying!) both new and in syndication.

I have to agree. While it would be a perfect world if everyone knew perfect spelling and grammar, it isn't. It's also against the rules of SO to criticize someone for it. Remember, this is a wide world and not everyone can write or speak well. That's not what we're here for.

Anyway, you guys probably won't recognize the show, but I've just started watching The Mercer Report on CBC television. It's sort of like Canada's version of the Jon Stewart show. It's a riot!

I wanted to get into BBT but it's something about the Sheldon character that stops me from doing that-lol

(I'm an English teacher, but one of the rules here is not to criticize others' spelling or grammar. The classroom is a different setting.)

As to the thread, we've been watching Kings on NBC for the last two Sundays. I really like it. It's loosely based on the biblical David/Goliath/Saul/ story, but with a modern spin to it.

Tubehead, it's ok. Just glad you're here! :)

I can't think of too many so called 'new' shows, other than what I've mentioned in an earlier post, like the Kings series Sunday nights on NBC. When I watch shows these days it's either news, some sitcoms reruns, like Seinfeld and Two and a half men. That's about it. The reality shows just don't do it for me. Occasionally American Idol, but I'm not an avid fan or anything.

^ I don't like reality shows, either. They just don't appeal to me.

As for me, I just started watching Curb Your Enthusiasm. It is so funny and so on the mark (to me anyway) as to daily pet peeves. If we can't have Seinfeld anymore, this is definitely the next best thing. :D

BTW Yooch, I love your avatar. Crystal Bernard is one gorgeous lady.

Gotta start off watching the middle seasons (3 through 6). Then after being hooked from the middle seasons, you can appreciate the early seasons (1 and 2) and sort of understand the later seasons (7, 8 & 9).

I'm telling you, the middle seasons of "Roseanne" were the best to ever hit television!

I just started watching Rules of Engagement this season. The last two seasons I was either going to watch it live or DVR it, and I never did.

I also started watching Old Christine this season. It was on for three seasons before this one, but I never really tuned in. Now that its on Wednesdays at 8pm with Gary Unmarried, I have seen every episode!

That's really all I can think of at this point.

Scrubs.

I had tried to watch this before, just couldn't get into for some reason. I was really into Friends at one time and just happen to put Scrubs on in a episode that Courtney Cox was on. Then a few days later, Matthew Perry was on an ep. I thought one of the funny things about that ep was Matthew's character made a reference to Wings(which is another favorite show of mine). Then a few days later watched a couple more eps, sans Courteney or Matthew. I can see myself getting into this show from now on.
