View Full Version : Who else here pays bills online? treky 02-09-2009, 04:01 AM I assume Janice and Lauren do. Who else does? (besides me) 80s_Fan 02-09-2009, 07:11 AM I do; pay three of my bills online (hbc, visa and bell); and have been doing so for quite some time. It's easy and convenient better than mailing my payments or going through the bank; just log in to my bank site, and pay them off. I just love technology; we can do so much on computers now. MonarC 02-09-2009, 10:01 AM I pay some of my bills online. It's fast and easy. :D Holly 02-09-2009, 10:58 AM I pay all my bill's online because it's a lot faster and the Company's get the money FASTER ALSO! and you can safe money on buying Stamps.......... Chocolate Moose 02-09-2009, 11:40 AM I do and have had only a few glitches. MickeyMac 02-09-2009, 03:54 PM Nothing against paying bills online, but I would rather do it face to face. TripperFan 02-09-2009, 05:32 PM I've paid all my bills online for the past few years. As a matter of fact, my bank is a "virtual" bank (President's Choice Financial). You can't beat it! Absolutely no banking fees and I finally make some interest on my balance each month rather than PAYING to keep my money in there. I now pay my credit cards and all utilities online. I even file my income tax by phone now and get my refund within 2 weeks of filing. I didn't know it until a couple of weeks ago, but Canadians use the internet for banking more than any other country. 85% of Canadians have a debit bank card. It's a huge growing industry up here and as a matter of fact, that's the business that I might just get hired to this week! :) What a convenience - I just set the bill up for direct payment from my account as soon as it comes in and forget about it. And so far, it's been totally secure. Janice 02-09-2009, 05:55 PM All the time. I love it. I have most of my bills set up for automatic payment. My husband's checks go into our account. The bills get paid. What's left over, is OURS! :) Marvo301 02-09-2009, 06:17 PM I pay my bills online. Doodyville10019 02-09-2009, 07:44 PM I pay the vast majority of my bills online. DVDFreaker 02-09-2009, 08:29 PM I pay my bills by phone or mail justins5256 02-09-2009, 09:17 PM I pay all of my bills online and I even have a couple of them set up for autodraft so the money is debited from my bank account on the same day each month. I find it works well. I'm very disorganzied and had a bad habit of losing the paper statements  browneyes106 02-09-2009, 09:29 PM I pay all my bills online except my car insurance. dawsongirl 02-09-2009, 10:02 PM Absolutely not. One, because my father works for the post office and I'm not taking money away from them if that's who's buttering my bread, so to speak. Two, because I'd rather not deal with all that crap on the internet. What a pain in the ass. I'd rather have a paper record. I'll never sign up for paperless billing either. Brieannas21 02-10-2009, 01:44 AM I do, I pay everything except for our HOA and mortgage, it's so much easier and it's faster. treky 02-11-2009, 01:46 AM All the time. I love it. I have most of my bills set up for automatic payment. My husband's checks go into our account. The bills get paid. What's left over, is OURS! :) I assume you would, Janice. I pay all mine online, exept for my credit card that I'm currently paying off, because I can't get into the website to do it!!:( And I also transfer money on-line, and I have direct deposit for my S.S.I. check. And if I could make withdrawls on-line I would. It's great! And I'm not worried about hackers or anything, since I'm also enrolled in lifelock.com TripperFan 02-11-2009, 11:57 AM Absolutely not. One, because my father works for the post office and I'm not taking money away from them if that's who's buttering my bread, so to speak. Two, because I'd rather not deal with all that crap on the internet. What a pain in the ass. I'd rather have a paper record. I'll never sign up for paperless billing either. Actually you do get a paper record if you want (just print the screen). Also, you're given a confirmation or reference number as proof of payment. Payments are processed faster as well. I see your point about taking business away from the post office in your case, but up here, stamps have gone up to 57 cents each and I have at least 6 bills to pay each month - that adds another $3.42 a month, or $41 a year. I already pay for my internet connection, so why not take full advantage of it. Luckily because my bank is "virtual" there's NO FEES so I'm not gouged for cheques or withdrawals. I actually make some money each month. And I don't need to go to different websites to pay each bill - -it's all done on my bank's website completely safe and secure. |
