Having lost Bob Costas to free agency, HBO Sports has added veteran baseball announcer Joe Buck to its roster.
Buck is set to host a sports talk show on the pay cabler that will launch in May.
His addition fills the void left by the departure of Costas, who has signed on to be a host and commentator on the new MLB Network.
Buck spent 17 years as a radio commentator for Major League Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals, following in the footsteps of his play-by-play father. He joined Fox Sports in 1994, where he has handled both NFL and MLB broadcasts.
