View Full Version : I've got some interesting news
hue_mee 02-05-2009, 08:04 PM I was interviewed today by someone from the Biography channel. He is doing something on comedians. Anyhow, he visited the Freddie Prinze Sr.com and was very impressed by the information. Does anyone have a copy of Freddie's first apperance? I am needing it to send to the man who interviewed me. I can NOT find mine. Call me, email me, send me smoke signals!
rochforw 02-06-2009, 12:25 AM You could try ioffer.com. thats the site that i purchased chico and the man dvd, and E!true hollywood story and Million Dollar Rip Off. some people on that site are selling freds appearance on johny carson, so they might have someone selling freds first tv appearance.
Cheryl Harrell 02-06-2009, 09:00 AM That is so cool! I am so glad they are including Freddie. You are the ultimate source for all things Freddie...
Prince 02-07-2009, 08:04 AM I have it Suz if you're talking about Freddie's first appearance on the Tonight Show?????? I will get with you later today to find out for sure what you need and get it copied this weekend and in the mail to you on Monday.
how exciting, are you going to be on the biography channel?
hue_mee 02-09-2009, 06:56 AM I hightly doubt Joy, Right now, from my understanding. The biography is about comedians. and it might just have a small part on Freddie Prinze, I dunno. It is all up in the air right now. The guy will be updating me on on the program itself. If I hear any more about I will update it all here.
how exciting, are you going to be on the biography channel?
Prince 02-20-2009, 08:30 PM It sounds really interesting. Let's hope Freddie makes the show.
hue_mee 02-23-2009, 05:29 PM I emailed the guy today to see if he received the dvd. He received the dvd today and was watching it as he emailed me back. As a special credit he adding information about the website and those who were able to give him the information.
hue_mee 04-22-2009, 08:52 PM I have gotten an update from the producer of the Biography channel regarding the possible air date of the "fallen comedians" biography special. It will sometime in June. So be on the look out for the Biography channel. If I hear of any more information on the exact time and date I will let you know!
Cheryl Harrell 04-23-2009, 04:28 AM Thanks for the info. Mike & I had Dish Network & got Biography channel. My folks have Directv & they don't get it so I probably won't be able to see it... :(
TripperFan 04-23-2009, 02:52 PM Thanks for the info. Mike & I had Dish Network & got Biography channel. My folks have Directv & they don't get it so I probably won't be able to see it... :(
You could try contacting Direct and first, see if they'll give you a free trail of the Biography channel, and if not, you might be able to buy it a la carte. Some only come in packages, but it's usually the cheaper ones too. You could sign up for it in May, and then once the Biography special airs, cancel it again at the end of June. I do that a lot with my satellite provider(s).
Cheryl Harrell 04-23-2009, 09:32 PM I'd love to do that but since I am living with my folks due to my hubby's recent passing, I know they'd never allow that. We had VH1 Classic & they didn't cuz it costs extra. When I told them that they said they weren't gonna pay extra for it. Even tho it's the only decent music video channel. And they don't have GAC either. Oh well they have some Christian channels we didn't & one of them plays re-runs of the Patty Duke show so I guess that's a trade-off...
hue_mee 06-10-2009, 12:45 PM I recieved an email from the producer from the Biography channel. Here are the airdates, that will be aired on the Biography Channel:
Tragic Side of Comedy - 6/24 at 9pm ET, 6/25 at 10pm ET
I do not know how long the specials will be a 1 hour show or two. Looking forward to see the Freddie segment!
Cheryl Harrell 06-10-2009, 01:00 PM Mike & I got this channel but my folks don't. So I won't get to see this. Bummer!
hue_mee 06-16-2009, 11:12 AM We don't get the channel either! Brighthouse says we can call and suggest it and see what others think about as in what kind of turn out. So I am trying other options to see what I can do

I saw the ad for this yesterday and I was wondering if anyone had heard. Well I should have guessed they had! LOL OMG Hue Mee, that is fantastic that someone got a hold of you about this. I did see Freddie's face in the commercial, so he will be on there, just don't know how long his segment will be. I remember all the way back in 2001 about how we wanted them to do a biography on Freddie, back when the show was on A&E, remember? Well at least he will have a part in this show. This will be a sad show all the way around tho, so many good people cut short. :(
BTW since it is being aired multiple times that week, maybe I could get my hubby to burn it. We have a DVD burner. Lemme watch it first to see if will be worth it. If it is, I would be willing to share.
hue_mee 06-19-2009, 10:39 AM Please let us know how it is, I am getting a copy from the producer as soon it is aired. They have my mailing address but they can not send it to me untill after it is aired. I anxious to see it even though it has to do with the tragic side of comedy. My CD burner does not burn DVD's which I think is odd when the desk top icon says so! But then, it could be how the dvd is formatted. i tried that recently for someone and it completely failed! I felt so bad that I could not burn a copy.
Luckymama58 06-19-2009, 10:47 AM I will. I dunno if I could make copies for others, I don't want to infringe on copyrights. I might just be able to share for free with a few.
hue_mee 06-19-2009, 08:12 PM I would like to believe since the advertisement on Biography according to Luckymama, that there has been a spark in interest. I have noticed a record setting return of visitors today already out of the 35 visitors as of 8pm eastern time. I have had 12 people made repeated visits according to there ip address. So thank you John from Biography for considering Freddie in this sad topic coming up and thank you Freddie for sending us your love through any means possible. We will always love you!

Cheryl Harrell 06-20-2009, 05:48 AM I think as long as you're not selling them you're fine...
hue_mee 06-20-2009, 06:47 AM That is a good idea ...I will have to email the producer and suggest a biography special on Freddie only

Schmoopie 08-19-2009, 02:59 AM Thanks for the info, and congrats on being interviewed! That's really cool!
Andrea76 08-19-2009, 01:08 PM Yes, thanks for the info. I seen this several months back. Freddie was about an hour into the program. It was excellent. Looking foward to it tonight. Just got a new flat screen T.V. too to watch it on!!
hue_mee 08-19-2009, 01:17 PM You will find it interesting to know what each comedian had gone through. This was a well crafted and informed biography special
Andrea76 08-19-2009, 01:32 PM Yea, let me correct myself- excellent as in interesting, not happy though. He was so sweet too and cared what everyone thought of Him. It was interesting was He told David Brenner days before He passed. I'll remember that. Again, I feel He cared what people thought of Him, and it's tragic the way things turned out for Him. BTW, in no way was I disregarding what other comedians have gone through.
The whole show was indeed well crafted.
rochforw 08-19-2009, 11:11 PM If you miss the two showings of tragic side of comedy, it comes back on august 30th at 12 pm. Biography channel.
