Did anyone else notice that in Flo's last episode where she announces she is leaving--Vera is sad to see her go but Alice looks and acts happy over the news I assume because she thought it was a big opportunity for Flo...

When watching this on the DVD, I thought wow Linda Lavin sure does not hide how thrilled she is to see Polly Holiday leave the show. She was just too cheery throughout the entire episode.

Maybe that was some of Linda's TRUE feelings coming through, I hear she did NOT get along with Polly, b/c she felt she took to much attention away from her. I also heard she didn't get along with Diane Ladd for the same reasons, I think she likeed Celia b/c she just kinda quitley filled the 3rd space, she was kinda southern and loose, wasn't really outgoing like Polly and Dianne.

^ :yeahthat Besides, Jolene was Celia Weston's first big break and didn't have the vast experience that Polly and Diane had at that time. So I guess Linda didn't percieve her as a threat. Vic Tayback just stayed out of the fray (he was closest to Phillip McKeon, who was about the same age as Vic's own son. He would often take both boys to ballgames and such), and I guess Beth Howland did, too.

I do believe that LL's true feelings clouded this ep.
