View Full Version : Your Perfect Burger?
Janice 11-15-2008, 04:28 AM When you eat a burger, how do you cook it or order it? I cook good burgers at home, usually on a Saturday afternoon.
I use ground sirloin, cook it medium, preferably on the charcoal grill. I like sharp cheddar cheese. Sesame seed bulkie rolls are nice. Hubby likes bacon and onion, not me. A slice of tomato, not a fan of lettuce. I add a little of lots of these, ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, salt and pepper. A few Ore-Ida seasoned french fries on the side with a dill pickle spear and it's good eating.
:eat: :eat:
Zoneboy 11-15-2008, 04:34 AM Mustard, lettuce and extra pickles only, No ketchup, mayo, onions or tomato.
browneyes106 11-15-2008, 05:03 AM I like mine well done with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and pickles and sometimes bacon and fries.
Brad Russ 11-15-2008, 05:06 AM Burger King's Steakhouse burger. So good, when you eat it, people may think you think you're special. Great tagline for an awesome burger!!
PunkyP0WER 11-15-2008, 05:38 AM the one my husband makes on our grill during summer. he takes shredded cheddar cheese and mixes it with the ground beef so the cheese is inside and throughout the hamburger. and then he puts an extra slice of cheese on top. i normally don't put any garnishing on my burgers especially pickles or onions but i do put ketchup. i too like the ore-ida seasoned fries or tator tots. so delicious!

bandito 11-15-2008, 02:28 PM I like mine dragged thru the garden.. My burger has to be well done, no blood for me.
Yooch 11-15-2008, 02:47 PM Just about anything, minus mayo or special sauce. Mustard and ketchup are fine. I like Quarterpounders with cheese from McDonalds, or BK Whoppers (no mayo)
InspectorExstead 11-15-2008, 03:33 PM i like my burgers well done & i like pretty much everything on it. tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cheese, pickles/relish, even guacamole!
BarneyFife 11-15-2008, 03:35 PM I like mine well done with
mayo (sometimes i switch mayo for mustard)
ketchup
lettuce
pickles
onions
and tomato.
Absolutely no bacon!
The perfect burger is Wendy's.
"Wendy's, it's way better than fast food".

MickeyMac 11-15-2008, 03:55 PM The meat must be well done
Then I add
Mayo

TVFactFan 11-15-2008, 04:13 PM My perfect Burger is on a Kiaser Roll, with cheese and lettuce and salt, pepper, and fried onions
Theda Bara 11-15-2008, 04:57 PM I like everything on my hamburger. I am not picky:D
TripperFan 11-15-2008, 05:03 PM Mine's a homemade one on the grill preferrably (like Janice). Cooked well (I'll even take those lovely crusty carcinogens at the edges) YUM!
Then, mustard and relish (and don't just dump it all in the middle of the damned bun - it HAS to be evenly spread out all over the bun - take care people!)
Bun is preferrably a nice, fresh crusty kaiser with seasame seeds.
NO ketchup, but will take mayo if somebody already slopped it on.
Sometimes cheese - but again, NOT just plopped on the top of the beef patty - take an extra 30 seconds to melt that thing.
Thinly sliced tomatoes are ok and love fresh sliced onion. Can handle chopped, but sometimes you have to chase those little suckers while you're eating them cuz they're rolling away from you, so best is sliced. Again, no piling - nicely laid out with care to get a slice in every bite!
Pickles ON the patty - gross. Pickles on the side - YAY! Chips (either fries or potato) on the side - GOOD!
But I'm not picky....
Stormtracker TF 11-16-2008, 10:25 PM Well done, usually with a little lettuce and mayo. That's it.
Number 9 Dream 11-16-2008, 10:29 PM Mm, this thread is making me hungry :liplick: Anyway, I love my burgers cooked medium rare with ketchup, mayo, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, melted American cheese (sometimes swiss if I'm craving something different!), and bacon.
Burger King has the best burgers out of all the fast food places, IMO.
James 11-22-2008, 11:42 PM I like everything on my hamburger. I am not picky:D
I'm just the opposite. I like mine perfectly plain, except possibly the occasional slice of American cheese.
Oh, well, to each his own!
LuLu Rogers 11-22-2008, 11:49 PM Medium well with American cheese, ketchup and sometimes pickles.
I also love mushroom swiss burgers, without onions that is ;)
Swiss or Cheddar Cheese
Fried Onions
Barbecue Sauce
I think Burger King and Wendys are the best of the chains, but Sonic and
Rallys are passable.
Doodyville10019 11-23-2008, 02:07 AM My perfect burger is well done on a hamburger bun with mozarella cheese and bacon. Mushrooms are a plus if available.
MUST ALSO have very very v-e-r-y well done fries and a large drink (no ice, pepsi preferred).
Big C 11-23-2008, 02:59 AM My perfect burger- Red Robin's Monster Burger
AKA – the Open Wide Burger. Two huge beef patties, melted American cheese
I do NOT ask for the following: fresh ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, pickles, onions, mayo & Red’s pickle relish.
I hate veggies and condiments beside barbecue sauce/ketchup.
littlebelle 11-23-2008, 03:49 AM Johnny Rocket's "Rocket Single":
One beef pattie, cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce and secret sauce.
I don't eat a cheeseburger if it doesn't have lettuce and sauce on it. I hate bland food.
Big C 11-23-2008, 04:26 AM I don't eat a cheeseburger if it doesn't have lettuce and sauce on it.
We're polar opposites.
If a burger has veggies or different condiments, I'm not touching it!

That is weird, but hey, everyone has their preferences.
Speaking of, check your PM's.
Fleet 11-23-2008, 05:06 AM I cook my own more than ordering one outside.
I make ground sirloin, cooked medium, with lettuce.
When outside (at Fuddruckers, In-and-Out, Fatburger) I order it the same way... medium with lettuce.
The Great One 11-23-2008, 06:23 PM I cook my hamburger well done with tomatoes, lettuce and a pickle.
Theda Bara 11-23-2008, 06:36 PM I'm just the opposite. I like mine perfectly plain, except possibly the occasional slice of American cheese.
Oh, well, to each his own!
Yes, but, that is fine, too. I am just not a picky eater..PERIOD!!!
More stuff on my burger the better
TheHappyBurgerMeister 11-23-2008, 06:48 PM If I get it from a restaurant or burger joint (like Culver's) I like to have just ketchup on it. I'm not much for all the toppings. As for how it's cooked I like it well done, but to tell you the truth I don't think i've ever been asked how I want it cooked at a restaurant. Guess I don't go to fancy enough places! At home I like to put worchestershire sauce on it!

In Massachusetts, or at least Boston, you can't get a rare burger. Any form of rare is off limits, medium rare, etc. It has to do with illnesses that raw hamburger carry. Perhaps that's not why they're asking how you want it cooked.
ekkostar 11-23-2008, 08:18 PM On several tries with ground turkey I've tried to make turkey sliders. So far my efforts haven't been so good. I even went as far as to make them square shaped. I hear that sliders are greasy, maybe I should be making them with gobs of olive oil or something.
Anyone notice that sliders weren't very popular until the Harold and Kumar movies came along?
MrCleveland 11-23-2008, 10:03 PM Beef seasoned with soul food seasoning, onions, and Worcestershire sauce.
Velveeta Cheese
Bacon
Lettuce
Tomato
Onion
Mustard-Mayo Sauce (Which is mustard, mayo, and horseradish.)
Burger Sauce (Which is ketchup, relish, and mayo.)
Courtnee 11-23-2008, 10:10 PM My perfect burger wouldn't be beef, it would be CHICKEN. Buffalo chicken. :liplick:
