On average? Unfortunately I have sleeping problems, and usually don't get to sleep until around 5:00 am, and I usually wake up around 9:00 am, so for me, it's about 4 hours daily. Every once in awhile I will crash hard, and when I do, it's usually for 12 hours or more. That only happens a couple times per month though. So anyway, when do you usually go to sleep, and how many hours do you usually get per night/day?

Yeah, I have a friend who can relate. He usually only gets 2 hours sleep per night. It amazes me too, cause he's always got tons of energy, and he never seems tired. I know if I only got two hours of sleep, I'd probably be a zombie.

In the last few months, I've moved to a schedule where I usually only get between 5.5 to 6.5 hours of sleep per night. This is down from my old 9-10 regime in the past. The weird thing is that I've found that I'm actually MORE rested on less sleep, and I get more done.

You're definitely a night owl like me. I think sometimes were the only members on the boards after certain hours. I'm always sitting there hoping you, or one of the other few night owls will post something, just so i'll have something to respond to.

As far as naps go, I can't remember the last time I had a decent one. Seems like whenever I try to, is when all my friends decide they want to call me on the phone.

About 6.5 to 8.5 hours. The more sleep, the better I feel.

What I need: 10-12 hours
What I get during the week: about 6 (with an afternoon nap after work)
What I get on the weekends: 8-10 usually

I don't have trouble sleeping, I have trouble getting to bed. I keep doing things. I've been that way all my life. Occasionally I have trouble falling asleep if I have too much on my mind.

4 HOURS if i'm lucky during the weekdays. i work 3rd shift and its hard to sleep during the day. i always have to take my dad to work when my shift ends, then my husband usually wants me to stop for something on my way home and the phone never stops ringing when i'm laying down. the dogs bark at everything like when the mailman comes etc.

I get 6 hours of sleep. My daily bedtime is 1:00am. If I fall asleep anytime before this time, I'm up again at 3:00 or 3:30am. I then stay up until about 5:00am and then the alarm rings at 7:00am. This has been my pattern since I was a kid. I make up for any sleep loss on Sundays and sleep as late as I want to, except during NFL season. I have to prepare for Jets Sunday. :D

Between eight and nine hours most days. If I go to a party or event where I get back late--five or six hours, but I'll usually end of taking a nap the next afternoon.

A lot. It seems no matter how much I sleep I'm always tired. On the weekdays when I have early classes it's usually about 7-8 hours, and when I have late classes or on the weekends it's about 10. That might sound horrible, but honestly it's so difficult for me to wake up. And when I do, regardless of the amount of sleep I get, I end up being tired all day anyway.

Sadly about 4 hours, since I usually don't even go to sleep before 2am. Then we get up by 6-6:30 and catch the bus at 6:45! I do get about an hour's worth of sleep on the bus to work. I used to be able to read the entire time but in the past few years, I start nodding off, so now I just fall alseep immediately on the bus!

Damn, 4 hours Andrea? lol. I'm the type of person, who never gets a consistent amount of hours of sleep. I go to bed way too late every night and I am not a morning person/don't get up early. I have to get a lot of hours of sleep for me to not to be on some Herman Munson ish, all groggy, tired and fussy...

Don't ask!
I am my mom's caregiver and for some reason she is usually awake until 3:00 AM or later. So I am awake until at least that time, sleep for a few hours and wake up (not planned it just happens) usually around 7:00 AM or so and check on her then back to sleep. Sometimes I wake up again at 9:30 or 10:00 AM, check on her again, then back to sleep.

In other words, it is a broken sleep. But I can usually catch a nap in the late afternoon or early evening.

Total time is 7-8 hours if I am lucky.

Well....sometimes I work late (QUITE late) and sometimes I'm so busy writing my book that I forget how fast time flies! Usually I'll get about 5-6 hours per night (which isn't damn near enough!)

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is my 100th post on SO. YAY!!!!!

I try to get 8 hours a night, but since I have insomnia problems, it usually is about 6 - 6 1/2. I am a notorious light sleeper.

:sleep2: If you don't get enought sleep you weaken your immune system and make yourself vonerable to all kinds of things like the cold & flu season. I really try hard to get my 8 hours but its not easy. By the time my little tot finally goes to bed I barely have any time left so I tend to stay up late getting only 6-7 hours a night of sleep if Im lucky. I really miss those teen years when I would sleep till noon on the weekends. Ahhhh that was the life.
