My mom was saying she notices no wera watches anymore and she finds it strange. I haven't wore one in 15 years and really don't need one. I mean why would anyone in 2008 need a watch when you have cell phones?

I do. It's a Best Buy watch that was given to me as a gift from my grandfather just over four years ago. (BTW, I don't have a cell phone.)

I don't wear a watch. I use my cell to tell time.

I do. I don't have my cell phone with me all the time anyway, so I think that a watch is easier lol.

Uhm. I wear a watch because I've been wearing one since I was very young, and therefore feel naked if I don't.

What a ridiculous question to ask.

I'm the same way. It's part of my wardrobe. lol I do have a cell phone, but it's always in my phone holder on my belt, so it's easier just to look at my watch when i need to know the time.

I do - it was a Christmas gift from years back (a Cleveland Indians one ). I also feel naked without my watch. I do have my cell phone as a fall back should it stop.

i feel the exact same way. i have so many different watches that i'll just co-ordinate them with what i'm wearing. lol.

Why shouldn't you have a watch? Not every job permits cell phones while on duty--and you should be dismissed if you think texting is more important than the reason why you were hired.

My mom said she fees naked too without hers. And it's not a ridiculous question because everyone is not the same

Another good point - some people just use their watches as accessories.

I stopped wearing a watch in 1998 when I was stupid enough to play basketball with it on my arm and then got it knocked off and haven't wore one since

I barely use my cell phone, and I always find myself needing to know the time when I don't have a watch, so I always wear one. Plus, you can't always depend on every place you go to have a clock in it

I agree, it's not a ridiculous question. I used to wear watches but they either broke after a few months or I would lose or misplace it. So I quit buying watches and just use my cell phone instead.

My husband and I both wear watches. Most everyone I know wears one, some possibly for fashion purposes.

speaking of watches for fashion. Anyone else remember those godawful Swatch watches that were all the rage in the late 80's where you couldn't wear just one of them? LMAO

I remember them - I never wore one, though. They looked hideous!!

Of course I wear a watch!! In fact, I have two - one for dress and one for everything else. I can't afford a cell phone now, so I have no choice. :p

YES!! Ah, the 80's. So many bad "fashions" came out of that decade, and you know what, I'm guilty of wearing some of them!!

I wear my watch when I'm out shopping and doing stuff. If I'm at work I just look my computer or one of the clocks.

This. I'm not allowed to have my cell phone in my pocket at work. Plus there are no wall clocks to be seen while I'm working. There are, but they're in sections of the store where I don't work in.

Thus it makes sense to have a watch on at all times.

Same here. I don't text and I don't even talk on the phone that much. I just basically keep it for when I really need it!!

I have a cell phone, but I'm so use to wearing a watch it would feel strange not having it on. Besides that, I do like the look of a watch. Also it's annoying pulling my cell out to check the time.

I haven't worn one since the arm band on my last one broke quite a few years back. Now I just have to not forget to bring my cell phone with me when I go out so I can keep track of the time.

I'm old school - still wear a watch and go crazy if I've forgotten one. I could look at my cell phone, but never think of it.

I've got a lot of watches actually - like changing them depending on what I'm wearing.

One of my brothers has never worn a watch in his life and he doesn't even own a cell phone or have a clock in his car. I don't know how he does it! lol

Oh, yeah! I remember those, and I was going through a phase where I wanted to have as many watches as possible! I remember having a calculator watch that could do trigonometry IIRC. I never had a Swatch watch myself (I would rather have had a Rolex, even though it was way out of my price range), but I had a Coca-Cola watch which was similar in design.

What a ridiculous question to ask.

I wouldn't call it ridiculous, but it is rather strange. Watches are never going to go out of style. In fact, my husband collects watches and is a watch-enthusiast. I have learned so much from him; things I never imagined pertaining to watches. I'm not talking Target or Walmart quality watches, but high quality; name brand (Omega, Tag Hauer, Breitling) watches. I've become a semi-enthusiast myself as I now own two Tag Hauer watches, as well as some Snoopy watches. I honestly get more comments on the Snoopy watches than the Tag watches! We have a friend that we met in a jewlery store. He started out as a salesperson who sold my husband an Omega watch and now we stop in and visit him every chance we get. Very cool!

I still wear a watch and I have a cell phone. For me it's too much hassle to get out my phone just to check the time, it's faster looking at my watch.

I would wear a watch if I could afford to buy a new one. I still feel quite weird not having one and my cell phone isn't always reliable, it's an older model that sometimes doesn't sync up with the atomic clock.
I guess my next goal is to get a new Timex digital waterproof sports watch. I love those watches to pieces.

Call me "old-fashioned" but I never leave the house without my wrist watch ..
and I have never owned a cell phone (nor do I have any need for one ... who
would I call, besides my dog? ).
