View Full Version : What Is Your Favorite State?
jasonbigley 10-01-2008, 05:48 PM What is your favorite state and what state would you like to live in?
For me, it would be a tie between California and Florida. I love the weather in both states. I love the beaches. What I dont like is the earthquakes and hurricanes.
In order:
Tennessee
West Virginia
North Carolina
Florida
California
Wreckless 10-01-2008, 06:04 PM Wouldn't it be the one you live in lol, unless you show resentment towards folks and people from ___________ (Add your state). For me, it's NJ first, I also like Illinois, specifically Chicago, California- specifically LA, the bay, San Fran & Sacramento. I also like NY but nothing compares to my state Born and Raised.
phoebe7165 10-01-2008, 06:05 PM I've been living in FL since 1977 and I still love it. If I had to move from Fla for whatever reason, I would have to move somewhere it's mostly warm, like TX or AZ. I'm such a wimp when it comes to really cold weather.
I've got a few favorites states, besides Fla. - Maine, PA, TX, AZ, Washington & Oregon.
It's a close call between New York and New Jersey. As much as i love NYC, I think New Jersey is my favorite by a slim margin.
Don't tell anyone.
;)
Brian Damage 10-01-2008, 07:32 PM NYC baby!
also, I really liked Chicago, Illinois and Boston, Massachussetts. (sp?)
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 10-01-2008, 07:38 PM New York, but just because it's where I live and so obviously I have some attachment. And I mean the state, not the city. It's annoying to have to clear that up all the time, not all of New York is the city. Gah. In fact, upstate is like a completely different world. They're both nice in their own different ways...though upstate is in a much more boring, dull way. lol
I've never been there, but California seems absolutely amazing and beautiful. Special shout outs to Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania as well. Never been to Maryland, but again I think it seems like a beautiful place. I always think of Cherry Blossoms.
littlebelle 10-01-2008, 08:03 PM Well of course my hometown, Washington! but I also go to California at least once a year to visit my friends and family. Mostly in La, Simi Valley, Glendale, Long Beach, San Diego and sometimes the bay. La's basically my second home but Seattle will always be my first. I'm really just a west coast girl.
MonarC 10-01-2008, 08:32 PM TEXAS in da house! Were rough & tough & good. :tiphat:

Fleet 10-01-2008, 09:53 PM I really like my state's (California's) mild climate and varied scenery. So that is my choice.
First two photos taken last Dec/Jan, last two in July, 2007.
Janice 10-01-2008, 09:55 PM Baseball rivalry aside, lol, I have to say New York. I've never been there, but I just love the exciting feel and look of it. I love how it's the setting for so many movies, the Macys Day Parade, The Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park, Broadway, and yes, even the Yankees. New York is a sexy city.

upstate ny has feelings, too :p
It truley is a different world out here. Lots of farmland and mostly smaller cities. We're really like the "south" of the north.

Good, good haha.
I think with New York and the city is that they're so seperated and so far apart. NYC belongs more to New Jersy than New York, really. But too bad, it's ours and they can't have it. :p
Theda Bara 10-01-2008, 10:39 PM I could be bias and say California, since I live in that state; but, I am not going to. In all honesty, my favorite state is Colorado. I plan to retire there some day.
California, has everything, literally, but, it is also, too crowded and too expensive.
My second favorite would be, Hawaii.

Honey, I have never been to Alabama; so, I cannot say, if it is a favorite state of mine or not; since, I do not have any judgement to basis it on.
spreckenzeedeu 10-01-2008, 10:57 PM From what I've seen and read and ... I always love(d) California ... and hope ... to visit it sooner or later. Hopefully sooner!

InspectorExstead 10-02-2008, 02:53 AM as much as i love my beaches, southern california, san fran & san diego, new york is definitely my favorite state simply because of nyc. i loooooove nyc. everything about that city is exciting- the hustle and bustle, traffic, people who are walking the streets, buildings, subways, vendors on the street, etc. i visited two years ago & i didn't want to leave...i had to be dragged to get on the plane to come home. lol. if i could afford to move there, i would.
Schmoopie 10-02-2008, 04:24 AM I'll always love Washington State but if I had to move to another one it wouldn't be far...
Oregon! I just love that place! It's my favorite place to go on vacation (especially the coast!)!

TripperFan 10-02-2008, 12:13 PM Probably deep in the heart of Texas! (You know the stars at night - are big and bright!)
Florida would be too humid for moi (although I know Texas can be too), and I have no real desire for California (other than San Diego maybe from what I hear), but would like a warm climate for a change.
Never have been to Arizona, but I'd bet I'd love it there. My doctor wanted us to move there when I was little because of my asthma but we never did.
Courtnee 10-02-2008, 03:50 PM I'm pretty partical to Louisiana, but I'd love to visit, NY and MA. I've heard good things. :)
Holly 10-02-2008, 04:33 PM I like
Upstate NY
New Hampshire
Florida
