agree with most of those except Emotional Rescue. ER wasn't one of their better albums, but at least it had enough standout moments to deserve being in a collection, unlike Dirty Work, lol. Same with "Flowers In The Dirt", I think it's one of Paul's better latter day albums, at least when compared to Press To Play and Off The Ground. "This One" is a great single IMO.

Dirty Work is a pretty weak album, you're right about that. The only two songs on it that I like are "One Hit" and "Harlem Shuffle". I don't like any of the songs on Emotional Rescue though. I'm probably in the minority here, but I really like Paul's Off The Ground album. There are a lot of songs on it that I like such as the title track, "Hope of Deliverance", "Biker Like An Icon" and "C'mon People". Autoamerican is actually my favorite Blondie album. :lol:

"She's So Cold" and "Dance" (I know a lot of people hate that song tho) redeem Emotional Rescue to me. I do think the album is very weak considering it was sandwiched in between Some Girls and Tattoo You, which are probably their two best post-Mick Taylor albums.

I dunno what it is about Autoamerican I can't stand, I just felt the album was too ambitious without the music to back it up, but yet Rapture is my favorite Blondie song. But as a whole album, I like Parallel Lines (which they performed start to finish when I saw them this summer) or Eat To The Beat much better.

I can honestly say that the majority of the artists that I like do not have a bad album, in my opinion. The only one that comes to mind is Mariah Carey - Charmbracelet, and there's still some songs that I enjoy from it.

I think for a lot of artists, it's not necessarily a bad album, but just not an album that lives up to the standards. For instance, I hear people call "Beatles For Sale" a bad Beatles album.... For The Beatles, a bad album is still 4 1/2 stars lol.

You probably knew I was going to put Timeless. :lol: I discovered the other day that Timeless is actually Martina's third biggest selling album and it was her highest charting on the Billboard album chart. It reached number #3 and sold 2 million copies. Which means it sold more than double what Waking Up Laughing sold. I guess I must be in the minority in my disappointment with Timesless.

That's a good point. :lol: Who knows, if they took all the outtakes from Dirty Work, Steel Wheels and Bridges to Babylon, they might have an album to equal Let It Bleed. :lol:

what!?!? Summer In Paradise is no longer your favorite Beach Boys album? :lol:. Actually, I have started digging more into their collection in the past year or so and agree that after Love You/M.I.U. is where it all went down the crapper. I actually picked up Pet Sounds on reissued vinyl a few weeks ago.

I know I'm in a minority here, but I'm not really wild about the new Mellencamp. I thought Freedom's Road was brilliant but the new one does nothing for me.

With Weezer, I was cold on Red when I first heard it, but it's grown on me a lot. I like it more than Maladroit and Make Believe. Although I wonder how much better Thought I Knew and Cold Dark World would've been if Rivers had been lead on it. With Automatic, Patrick sounds so much like Rivers that I didn't even realize the difference at first.

Yeah, I agree. Both albums have some really good songs, but both also have some very forgettable songs.

I've only heard Glitter once (I was dating a huge lamb at the time) but it was without a doubt Mariah's worst album. Some of the songs weren't so bad, but my problem is that she went crazy with the guest rappers who literally took the album over and it felt like Mariah was a special guest star on her own album. Charmbracelet and Rainbow were even better IMO.

Yeah I totally agree about the rappers. They really to be nice "pooped" all over the album. I do really love the song "Never Too Far" from the Glitter album thought. I think that song is great. Loverboy was ok too.

it's sad that VH3 actually destroyed a track record that was stellar for almost 20 years. Between Van Halen I and Balance, every single album of theirs sold at least 2 million copies... Van Halen III barely went gold in ten years.

I actually like Mind Games, I think its very underrated, but thats me.

I personally think Tunnel Of Love was a great record. I love a lot of the tracks off there like Tougher Than The Rest, Brilliant Disguise, Spare Parts, One Step Up to name a few. But I do think it might've not been the right album to follow a blockbuster like Born In The U.S.A. up, but since when has Bruce ever been conventional? :lol: (since The River was a big hit and he followed it with Nebraska for instance)

Tunnel Of Love is an amazing album, I think. I think it is probably Bruce's most personal album. I rank it second only to Born In The USA.

I like Mind Games too. Though it certainly has its flaws.

It's hard to believe that a decade has past since that awful album was released. And there hasn't been a new Van Halen album since.
