Prologue
July 4th, 1994

*Hospital*

The frighted,tired, and scared 13 year old girl could not believe this had happened to her, she was not lying in this hospital bed and she did not just give birth to a baby girl. But she knew that it was true she really had given birth. She knew she was lucky to be alive since a lot of girls her age die, and she also knew she lucky that her baby girl was alive and healthy. But she also knew that that the father will want nothing to do with the baby and that her and her mother was not ready for it. Just as she was thinking of giving that baby up the nurse walked in and handed her, her little girl. The moment Kelly held her baby she knew she was going to keep it no matter how hard she had to work. No matter if the baby was going to only have one parent she was going to keep it, if her mother let her.

Chapter One

May 4th, 2001

Jinny groaned and got out of the bed knowing that she, once again, would be late for work. She took a quick shower and then got dressed and was about to leave when the phone rang. "Exstead." "Hey mom, would you mind watching Americus tonight?" "I was going to go over to Madga's tonight since she invited me for dinner."

Chapter 2
*The Division*

Jinny walked in and put all her things on her desk and sat down, hoping no one noticed that she was late. She started moving things around her desk, trying to find her folder about the case that Madga and her had just finished. “Well look who finally joined us.” Jinny turned around and gave Madga a look. “Shut up where did the folder about our case go?” “Well I got bored and finished writing the report about the case, and I gave it to the cap.” “Alright. Oh yeah I need to ask you a favor.” “What?” “Well Kelly asked me if I could watch Americus tonight but since I’m going to your house for dinner, I was wondering if I could bring Americus too.” “Yeah sure, ya know I think Ben has alittle crush on her anyway.” “Ha, I bet he does.” Just then the Cap walked out of her office. “Jinny, Madga, my office.” “Great and off to see the witch we go.” Jinny says getting and Madga just laughed and walked into the caps office. “So cap, what are we doing today?” “Jinny just shut up and listen for once would ya?” “Yes, Mommy.” Jinny says just so Madga can hear. “Okay I’m giving you a case about a guy in his early 20’s that goes around killing pregnant teenagers and women.” “How many has he killed.” “10, he had started killing girls about a month ago.” “Right so are we done?” “Yes, now get out of here.” Jinny and Madga walked out of the cap office and went to their desk. “So where do we start?” “I don’t know. I guess we should go questions some of these people’s family.” “Alright. Let’s go.” “Hold on, let me make a quick call to Kelly and tell her everything is fine for tonight.” “Alright. I’ll look over the folder while you are.” Jinny picked up her phone and waited for Kelly to answer. “Hello?” “Hey James. Let me talk to Kelly.” “Sure Jinny.” “Hello mother.” “Hey, I talked to Madga and she said that everything was okay for tonight.” “Alright I gotta go.” “Okay bye.” “Bye.” Madga and Jinny both got up and started walking towards their car. “Who’s James?” “The same guy she has been dating for a couple of years.” “Oh, Mr. Boyband?” “Yep.” “I thought his name was Pance or Chance or something weird like that.” “His middle name is Lance, I think, but Kelly calls him James.” “Alright anyway we better get this case started.” “So were are we going?” “We are going to see the first victim, Laura Beth, father-to-be.” Fun.” “Yep.”

About half an hour later they pulled up to the driveway. After knocking on the door for what seemed like forever (but was really only 5 minutes) the door open. “Yes, what can I do for you two lovely ladies?” “SFPD, were here to ask you some questions.” “What about?” “The mother of you baby boy, a Miss Laura Beth Cook.” “Oh, I alright. Come on in, would you like something to drink or eat?” “No.” “So Matt, when did you and Laura Beth first meet?” “In 6th grade.” “How old are you know?” “18.” “How old was Laura Beth when she got pregnant?” “13.” “Was it a one night stand or were you two going out?” “It was a one night stand, but once she told me about her being pregnant I made sure to be there for her.” “How old was your son?” “Five.” “Do you have any of her things?” “Yeah, they are in the basement I will show you where.” “Okay.” Matt got up and walked down to the basement and showed them five boxes that were Laura Beth’s and five boxes that belonged to their son. It took Madga and Jinny 15 minutes to get all ten boxes into their car promising Matt that they would bring everything back.
They went back to the division and put everything in a basement room and took all the boxes and put everything in the boxes around the floor and started looking at everything trying to find any clues.

I've never even read the book, I saw the movie. U know the woman that plays Rizzo in Grease(Stockard Channing), she's in it. She plays ummm, god i can't remember her name, she had gray hair and she took novalee in when she had nowhere to go.

Ammie Sue this is EXCELLENT!!!! Well I can answer the question about the name cuz the name was my *brilliant idea*. I told her to use it, cuz I had gotten in from the movie "Where the heart is" at least i think it's what it's called. Well I'm not sure if she'll be posting anymore until Sunday, cuz we're going away this weekend, but she may post tonight.

Chapter 3

*3 hours later at the Division*

Madga and Jinny had everything spread out and where in a basement room. “So do you really think we will beadle to find anything since most things are almost one month old.” “We can try.” “Well how about you stay here and look, while I go talk to other victim’s family.” “You should talk to mother of Laura Beth and also to the mother of Cara since Cara was the one that was killed two days ago.” “Alright.”

An hour later Jinny walked out of Laura Beth’s mother house with a box full of useful things, hopefully. Then Jinny got into her car and headed for Cara Wimmer’s mother house. Jinny took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A woman in her early 30’s answered the door. “Hello?” “Hello, Mrs. Wimmer?” “Yes.” “I’m Jinny Exstead with the SFPD. I’m here to ask you questions about your daughter’s death.” “Alright, come have a set.” “How old was Cara?” “17.” “Did she have a boyfriend?” “Not to what I know of.” “Did you know she was pregnant?” “Yes.” “Do you know who the father is?” “No, she never got a chance to tell me.” “Do you know if she told the father?” “Yeah she had told him the day before her death.” “Where was she killed?” “Don’t you know?” “My partner has the case folder so I didn’t get to look over Cara’s case.” “Oh alright. She was killed in her bedroom here.” “Mind if I go look?” “Nope its downstairs.” “Alright thank you.” Jinny got up and went downstairs and spent about thirty minutes looking around the house and leaves with a box full of things to hopefully help with Cara case.

Chapter 4

Before going back to the Division Jinny made a stop at Matt's house once again because she found pictures at Laura Beth's and Cara's house and wanted to see if Matt knew any of the people in the pictures. Two hours later Jinny walked out of the house with notes and addressed to go to tomorrow thanks to Matt.

*The Division*
"Hey Madga." "Hey Jin." "You have any luck finding anything with all the stuff?" "Not really, but I haven't gone through to many boxes." "Well since it is already 5:00 we better go and start again tomorrow." "Alright." Jinny and Madga got up and locked the room they were in and walked to their own cars. "So Jin are you going to pick up Americus and then come to my house?" "Yeah." "Alright, see you." "Bye."

Jinny got into her car and drove 30 minutes to James's house. Jinny pulled up to the gate around the house and told the guard that she was here to get Americus and was Kelly's mother. The guard let her in and she pulled up to the door. Jinny knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. Kelly opened the door and smiled. "Hey mom." "Hey, where's my granddaughter?" "She is in the den with James and his friends playing video games." "Alright." "Come on, we'll go get her." Jinny followed Kelly up-stairs and into a room where there was laughter and sounds from the TV room. Kelly walked in and turned off the game which lead to many boos. "Shut up. Americus time to go with Granny to Ben's house." The little girl with dark curly hair smiled and turned her head and ran to her grandmother awaiting arms. "Granny." "Hey, Sweetie, you ready to go?" "Yes, mommy and me packed my bags and there by the stairs." "Alright let's go, Madga and Ben are most likely waiting for us." "Okay Granny." Americus ran over to the stairs took a bag and ran outside to Jinny's car. Jinny laughed gave Kelly a hug goodbye and walked downstairs taking a bag with her.

I LOVE IT! It's just sorta funny to try and picture a little girl calling Jinny 'Granny" and another girl calling her 'Mom.' But I love the story again!

Chapter 5

"Granny hurry up!" Jinny just laughed put the suitcases in her car and then got in and started the car up. "So where you having fun playing video games?" "Yes, James and his friends were teaching me how to cheat!" "GREAT! So are you excited about seeing Ben again?" "Yes, very much." Jinny smiled and pulled up to Madga's parking lot, parked and her and Americus got out and walked to the door. Jinny knocked and smiled when Ben opened the door and Anericus gave him a hug. Jinny followed Ben in and waved hi to Gabriel. "Hey Jin. Where did Ben and Americus go?" "Hey Mag, I think to Ben's room to play." "Alright. Come on sit down. Do you want a drink?" "Yeah sure, got any Pepsi?" "Yeah be right back." Madga walked away and Ben and Americus came running in. "Hey Granny, can you tell us a story?" "A story?" "Yeah Jinny please I loved the one you told me about Little Red Riding Hood." Jinny laughed and told Ben and Americus to sit down. "OK let me tell you the story of the big bad witch and the three little pigs." Americus "It's supposed to be the big bad WOLF!" Ben "Yeah" "Not in my version OK. Now once upon a time there were 3 little pigs who all lived in separate little houses, but they all worked together." Americus "What were their names?" "Who's?" Americus "The pigs silly." "Oh, um...Madga, C.D. and Jinny. Well anyway they were all at their houses when something terrible happened at C.D.'s. The big bad witch appeared." Americus "Name?" "Kate." Madga "JINNY!!!" "What?" Madga “Nevermind.” “OK back to the story now. Well the big bad witch didn't like anybody so she wanted to make everyone's life horrible. Well when she saw C.D. sitting there she decided to make her into a pair of gloves. So Kate said her little spell and *POOF* C.D. became a pair of gloves. Well after Kate picked the gloves up and put them on, she saw Madga's house. Now Kate was in a very bad mood that day so she decided to turn Madga into a pair of boots. So Kate said her little spell and *POOF* Madga was a pair of boots.” Madga “Boots? I don't wanna be a pair of boots.” “It's just a story.” Madga “I know, but boots are smelly.” Jinny just rolls her eyes “Well anyways. OK Kate put the boots on her feet...(Madga makes a gross face) and walks to Jinny's house. Now Kate disliked Jinny more than anyone.” Ben “Why?” “Well Kate didn't like Jinny because Jinny got more that Kate, and this made Kate angry.” Ben “Got more what?” “Oh um yeah you're kids, um...she got more boyfriends than Kate, Yeah that's right. Well Kate decided she was going to turn Jinny into an ugly old woman,like herself, and take Jinny's beauty. Well what Kate didn't know is that Jinny's boyfriend was there, and he would protect her.” Ben and Americus “NAME!!??” “ Sorry, gosh I was gonna get to it. His name is Teddy.” Madga smirks at this comment and Jinny shoots her an evil look. Jinny “Well Teddy had certain powers that could defeat the witch. Well when Jinny spotted the Witch outside she sent teddy outside. Well the witch started to do her spell, Teddy lit a match and threw it at Kate, Now witches can't defeat fire so the fire eventually melted Kate to death, the only thing left of her were the boots that she turned Madga into, and the gloves she turned c.d. into. Well since the witch died the spell was broken and C.D. and Madga came back to life. And everyone lived happily ever after, especially Jinny and Teddy.” The two kids clapped and cheered and Jinny got up and took a bow and then sat back down. “I still don’t see why I was turned into a boot!” “Goodness Madga get over it, you got turned back.” Madga just gave Jinny a looked and then walked into the kitchen to check on dinner. “OKAY EVERYONE TIME TO EAT!” ‘Yay!” Ben and Americus ran into the room and sits down and right behind them comes Jinny and Gabriel. Two hours later Ben and Americus are both asleep and Jinny, Madga, and Gabriel are saying goodbye. “Okay see you two later.” Jinny gave them both a hug and then picked up Americus and walked to the car and put Americus in the car and drove home.
