Yeah I was shocked that the Eagles still won 10 games that year but just missed the playoffs. Yeah the Eagles Defense was solid that year.

I'm never glad when good players go down. I'd rather see them get beaten on the field. If I was a player I'd rather beat the best rather than some second tier team. I'm glad the injury was not due to a late hit or something like that.

But I would never wish an injury on one of their players or that of any other team. Beyond poor sportsmanship it is a lack of fundamental decency and a bitter mindset that defines anyone who would desire such an outcome.

For a true football fan the only real satisfaction comes from watching your team succeed. And the last vestige beyond that comes from watching a rival or hated team lose. And that is a very hollow satisfaction at best.

I understand there can be some relief in not having to face certain player because they are hurt, but there is no joy in such situation. And there is absolutely no joy in watching anyone go down hurt in the NFL.
