-this takes place right after the intervention, and how Jinny is dealing with the whole no drinking issue. Hopefully this will be a seris of episodes like the show, but it will mainly focus on Jinny and her personal life at least how interperet it. I have the first two episode written if you care. Tell me If you want me to stop.

The Uncovered Pain(episode one)
Chapter One
"84 more days." Jinny Exstead sighed as she added another tally to the list. The list was just a blank peice of white computer paper with six tallys under the words 'Days I've been sober' Jinny didn't look well. She had dark bags under her eyes as sign of no sleep. She looked thin, almost too thin. Her apartmwnt was a mess as usual, except it wasn't dirty clothes and empty bottles laying around, it was papers and boxes. "Why can't I sleep? Why am I talking to myself? I've been sober six days aren't I supposed to feel better? I can't sleep, I barely want to eat and drink.Urrrrrrrrrgggg!"
She took a deep breath and crawled into bed. After a few hours of tossing and turning she got out of bed and went straight for her bookcase. "aha"she yawned as she found the perfect book. The book was an old eighteenth century classic by Charles Dickens. Great Expectations put Jinny to sleep before the light could magically go out.
It was 8:00 am sharp and the division was already active.
"oh really Cd, see I don't beleive you, No no I can't can not believe you, That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard." Angela laughed as she poured the coffee.
"Hi guys" Magda greeted sounding a little down .
"Whats wrong?" asked Cd as she led the other two inspectors to her desk.
"Jinny, That's whats wrong! Jinny.She doesn't answer my calls, and when I ran into her she looked terrible...Im worried. What if she is sick, or dying or..."
"or drunk" Cd interupted.
"she probablly isn't speaking to you because she's still upset about the intervention." Angela said trying to put some comforting words in.
"well if your that worried, just drop by for lunch" Cd said.
"Guys wannna come?"
Angela and Cd looked at eachother, then shook their heads 'no'.
"come on moral support? Do I have to bribe you into seeing OUR friend?"
"okay, okay we'll go" Cd answered for both of them.

Chapter 2
Jinny continued packing. She didn't know why she was, she wasn't moving. "Urrrrrrrggg!!!!!Why does my life have to be this way? Why do I have to have caring friends and family?Why do I care? URG! Here I go again talking to myself again, not making sense again. I need something new, something new...." Jinny raced around her apartment searching through boxes until she found a small silver gun with the insciption 'Congradulations Inspector Jinny Exstead, Love Dad' She wiped her eye before the tear could form. She opened the barrel and took out five silver bullets. She studied them carefully. She flashedto the memory of her first scary movie.
"Mommy, Daddy Can I sleep with you tonight? I'm scared."
Her father shook his head no. "It's just a movie Jinnygirl, Now go to bed."
A seven year old Jinny looked up at her mom with tearful eyes.
"John, she's our daughter and she's scared, she can sleep with us if she wants to, if you have a problem with that then help yourself to the couch."
"Look Jinny your what...six"
"seven" Jinny interupted holding up seven fingers.
"Not for two more days faucet face" John Jr. Teased. " We'll get you a gun with real silver bullets." He continued.
"Mom johns being mean"she taddled.
Her mother smiled gently and kissed her oldest son goodnight.
"jinny why don't you go get ready , while I check on Casey."
"Alright mommy, Night daddy." She ran up to him an d hugged him.She pulled him down and whispered in his ear. "There no monsters up there right?"
John couldn't help but laugh. "no sweetie, see you in a bit." He said as he saw his daughter scamper up the stairs then turned to an angry wife.
"John I told you she is too young to see that werewolf movie How could you?"
"Baby you geard her she's 'seven'" He said mocking his daughter.
"And to not let hersleep with us! How could you?"
"I just want more little Jinny's.I want another daughter. Don't you?"
"Yes but this one already exisits, I think she should have more attention, and besides your just horny." She turned to the stairs and heard little footsteps scurry up; to the master bedroom. She glanced at her husband and said "I think our daughter wants to ba a detective, be ready for interrogation." And she walked up the stairs to the youngests room.
Jinny's face was covered in tears. The thought of her mother was too much. She spun the barrel to the first position and loaded it. 'I only need one' she thought. She closed the barrel and placed the other four bullets on the coffee table. Her hand began to shake tremendously as she pulled the off the safety. she managed to get the gun inside her mouth. The tears kept flowing out of her eyes, she didn't want to and it was obvious. Her finger began to move back towards the trigger. In a matter of seconds she'd be dead. The trigger moved back and then there was a knock. 'Now or Never' she thought. The was suddenly dropped on the table next to the bullets. "coming..." she yelled. Her voice trembling and cracking. 'I'm crying' she thought.

Chapter 3
Jinny opened the door slightly, then turned for her bedroom.
"Jin, Is everything okay?" Magda asked while pushing the door open. When she heard no answer she dropped the bags of Chinese food on the floor and ran to Jinnys bedroom, followed by CD and Angela who were also equally concerned.
Jinny just laid on her bed staring at the celing. 'Thank god I have friends like them' she thought as another tear left her eyes. 'I should tell them, I need to tell them, they won't understand, or will they.URRRGGG! I'm so confused. No wonder I want to die.' She couldn't help but turn face down and bury her head in her pillow. 'Good maybe I'll suffocate' With that she began to cry even harder, purposely not taking a breathe. moments later she gasped out for air.
The three friends just stood there watching the scene unfold. It was depressing. They had absolutly no idea why she crying yet at the same time knowing completly. 'Maybe she needs a good cry' CD thought not wanting to interfer. 'The problem is with herself...That can't be good.'she continued to think.
"Jinny?" Angela whispered breaking the silence.'I hope she's okay' she thought. She opened her mouth to said something but got interrupted by Magda Rameriz.
"Are you okay?What's wrong?" Magda questioned. Her eyes were so full of concern and love. She cared so much for Jinny, her bestfriend, and yet could not find any words of comfort. She gently placed her hand on Jinny's shoulder. 'She's so cold' In attempt to warm her up she rubbed her shoulder softly. "Come on Jinny, whats wrong?"
'Why is she doing this? I don't deserve comfort. I tried to kill myself bitch! Leave me alone. You're only wasting your damn time. Back off. Leave me alone. LEAVE ME ALONE. UG! I hate myself. Why would anyone want to be my friend.HOW CAN THEY? Why won't she stop, I'm not worth it!!!!!!!!!!' Jinny thought in frustration. She jerked away from Magda's warmth, and stared at worried eyes.
"WHAT'S WRONG? WHAT'S WRONG YOU ASK. NOTHING I'M JUST FINE.NEVER BEEN BETTER. CAN'T I CRY IN PEACE? JUST LEAVE. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. I HATE YOU ALL, I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN.GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT OF MY LIFE. I DON'T NEED YOU, I NEVER DID. LEAVE!!!!" Yelled a very angry Jinny Exstead. She was known for her outbursts of anger but they never expected this. Magda was close to tears. Jinny had never wished for anyone to leave her life. She didn't believe it for a second, but it stilled scarred. She felt CD tug on her arm and whisper in her ear "Don't worry! Let's go."
Once she heard the door close she relized she had just alienated herself from everything good. She was left with only her suicidal thoughts. She grabbed her gun and left.

Chapter 4
The three friends walked into the divsion and went straight for their desks. Each a little surprized and worried.
"That was not Jinny!" Magda stated.
"She is just going through withdrawl."commented Cd who was shuffling through some papers.
"I agree with both of you, even though I don't know Jinny very well, and like I said she is probally just mad about the intervention.
"How did that go by the way?" asked Captain Kate McCaffredy while walking to her office.
"Great,she hates us, wants us out of her life, and can't deal!" Magda stated through gritted teeth.
"That bad, huh?"
"Worse I mean the intervention went fine but now we are certainly feeling the consequences." Angela said while turning her computer on.
"OKay then, I take it she didn't go to rehab."
"What and do something right?" cd mumbled.
"CD!!!" Magda scorned.
"What?"
"Magda, Cd, Shut up, you're entitled to your own opinions, but keep them out of work." Their captain said in her punishing tone of voice.
"Okay so Jinny is mad.What's new? Let's just work." Inspectior Reide said in hopes of clearing it all up.
"No, I can't, I'm going back." magda stated. She grabbed her coat and car keys and headed torwards the apartment.

-Sorry this chapter is so short and boring. I'll try to add more later tonight but my dad is kicking me off right now, so don't kill me.

Chapter 5
JInny Exstead quickly ran back inside and scribbled a few words on a peice of paper. 'At least they'll know why' she thought. She walked out the door and taped the paper over the numbers. She ran down the stairs and past her car. She kept running till her feet couldn't carry her. She continued and continued to run way to fast down the crowded SanFransisco streets. She was running from her fears and problems. She slowed down and took a few deep breaths. Her heart was rapidly beating. She started to walk and think. She thought about her dreaded past and distant future. 'I'm never going to have children, or get married.' It was obvious her conscience was getting the best of her. But the more and more she thought the more and more she wanted to die. she started to run again this time her adrenline was helping. She stumbled a few times but finally made it to her destination. It was a small lookout behind a big building. She was standing so close to the bay,she could almost touch it. It was so beautiful so majestic and had little problems. The waves were huge and engulfing the small sail boats. Her heart sank, oh how much she would love to be there. Wher the only worries were capsizing and getting lost at sea. She sighed and sniffled. 'Great I'm crying again. I don't know... Do I want to do this? Okay what's that game called where you spin the barrel and take two shots at your temple.... Right Russian Roulet!'
Magda ran up the stairs of Jinny's apartment building. When she came to the door there was a note. It read:
Goodbye
My mind tries to hide the pain
with alcohol
but as soberness comes
It can't be hidden
My heart stopped beating
when the news reached my mind
My heart shattered when affect came to it
My soul drowned in the agony
Now the reliever is gone

Magda's face was streaming with tears. Her friend was gone or going. She wiped her face and grabbed the poem and ran to her car. She she sped the Division and ran torwards the captains office.


-Okay hope you liked it. By the way This story has a total of 10 chapters and the second episode has 8. Both are done, you just have to wait for me to type them. (I'm a very slow typer and pus I hate doing it) i'll try to post some everyday.

Chapter 6
Jinny Exstead spun the barrel then placed the gun to her temple. She pulled off the saftey and took a shook. Her eyes were tightly closed. After a minute or so she finally realized she was still alive. 'This is it' she thought as she pulled the trigger a second time. Her hand jerked away and a gunshot was heard. She fell on impact and opened her eyes. She felt blood all over her head. 'I'm shot' she thought. She closed her eyes and the world as she knew went dark.
Magda burst through the doors of the division then barged into the Captains office.
"Yes?" Kate asked. Her eybrows raised with curiousity.
"I think Jinny might be dead, or dying" Magda said. She spoke fast and did not pause for a breathe that was needed.
"Why?"
"suicide poem"
Kates face dropped. She never thought Jinny was capible of it. She Knew that her mother had killed herself for some unknown reason. She also knew that part of Jinny had always blamed herself for it. But she thought Jinny would never do that for the exact same reasons.
"What,why,how,when,where?"She asked the five questions all reporters live by.
"I don't know. I think cause she has been sober, It doesn't make sense but it's all here." she cried as she handed the note to her boss.
Captain mcCaffredy scaned the poem and then quickly picked up the phone.
"Hello Steven, Have you seen Jinny...No her body...I'll explain later... Okay thank you"
"Where should we look?"Magda asked while calming herself down.
"We? no me. You go to her apartment and wait."
"No Capt. I want to look for her."
"Delorenzo, Reide, In here now." she shouted.
"So you're gonna let them help you, but not me, That is not fair!"
"Yes?"Delorenzo asked as she and her parter entered the ofice.
"Take Magda to Jinny's and wait there. Magda'll explain on the way."
"okay come on"
The three left the parking lot while magda explained about the possible suicide.
Jinny Exstead finally came to. Her head was pounding and hemreging rapidly. She figured the bullet had just grazed the side of her head. She walked out to the street and hailed a yellow taxi-cab.
"Where to ma'am?"The driver asked not noticing the gash on the sideof her face.
"Umm, home...****************(make up address)"
"Wait shouldn't you go to the hospital." He said finnaly noticing her wound.
"Yeah, sure."
"okay"And he sped all the way to the hospital.
"thanks"and handed him a twenty.
Jinny jolted through the emergency room doors and shouted"I need some help" She hated admitting it, but it was true she had lost a lot of blood and needed to see a doctor. She needed a therapist as well, and probally rehab. 'I'm just going to take it one step at a time'she thought.
a doctor came and lead her to an exam room. He cleaned out her gash and carfully closed her wound with stichtes.

Chapter 7
Kate walked into the hospitals emergency room. She had called ahead, so she knew Jinny was there and staying the night. She walked torwards the receptionists desk to find out Jinny's room.
"Um excuse me. Do know what room Jinny Exstead is staying in, I'd like to see her."
"Hold on" The girl sighed. She typed something on the computer the spun her chair around and went through some discharge files."She is, um... She has been discharged"
"How? someone told me over the phone that she was to be staying overnight."
"Well I guess that someone changed their mind. Goodbye." The girl said obviously annoyed.
Kate walked out torwards her car, but suddenly stopped when she spotted a women in her early thirties about 5 foot 6 and had black hair. 'Jinny' she thought then rushed over to her and put her hand on her shoulder. The woman turned around and looked at someone she had never met.
"Who are you?" The woman asked.
"Oh I'm sorry I thought you were someone else."
"It's okay, My name is Jenny Baxsten"
"Kate."
The women reluctantly shook hands then turned away both hoping to never see eachother again. kate walked over to a bench and to her surprize was Inspector Rameriz.
"I thought I told you to wait at Jinnys"
"sorry, I couldn't stay there and not help, besides I know her alot better than you. I beleive I know where she is."
"Where?"
"She told me about a lookout she goes to to forget or to think.When were at her apartment We searched a small box and I found this picture of the bay. If it is her lookout then I know where she is."
"Alright let's go"
They drove for about fifteen minutes then found the lookout. They were both hoping to find Jinny, but knew the chances were slim and increasing by the minute as it was getting dark. They ran back to the lookout and all they saw was a puddle of drying blood.
"Great she's not here." Magda said as she sat down and startedc to cry in her hands.
"Well maybe you weren't looking hard enough." Jinny said entering from the corner with a brown paper bag.
"Jinny, Oh thank god youre okay."
"Mag...I tried to Kill myself...I'm far from okay."
"Are you getting help?" Kate asked.
"You mean Am I going to see a phychiatrist?"
"Yes jinny that's what I mean."
"Yes I am"
"We'll drive you home, okay." Magda said as she went to hug Jinny just to make sure this was for real.
"Fine, Do I really Have a choice?"She snickered then took a swig out of what ever was in the bag.
When Jinny entered her apartment it was deja vou all over again. Family and friends all sitting around with worried faces.She looked around and then took out her gun and threw it in box. She put her'what' look on and went over to her dad and hugged him, she didn't expect to cry but she did.She cried about her mom, about herself and about her insident. She didn't want to let go of her father, it felt so good to hug and cry on his shoulder so she did.

-hope you enjoyed it. If it sucked it's because I completly changed the chapter so it's nothing like the chapter on paper.

Chapter 8
"So Jinny,why did you want to kill yourself?" Dr.Anne Richardsen asked.She had a wholesome face with golden brown hair. Sje was calm, like she had delt with these kinds of cases all the time. She would smile to assure Jinny that is okay sometimes.
"Um...I don't know, maybe because...I don't know"Jinny answered nervously while rubbing her throbbing head.
"Maybe because...It seems to me that you do have an idea.Please share it with me Jinny."
"Because my life isn't going the way I planned.I don't know."
"Okay now were getting somewhere. How was was your life supposed to go?"
"Well I always wanted to graduate collage, get married and have four kids, I'd be a stay home mom. But I'm not married, I'm not even involved , no kids and I'm a bad cop." Jinny responded looking restless.
"Was that always your dream?"
"Yes since I was seven. It never changed."
"But dreams usually never come true?"
"Yeah but this was in grasp, It seemed possible, but I'm just not marrage material.It's too hard to stay with one man."
"Okay first off let's stop putting ourselves down, and second you know that you are, It just takes the right man.Okay?" Dr. Richardsen said alittle frustrated but hid it behind a soft smile.
"Okay."Jinny said very quietly.
"so now why can't you stay with one man for a long time?"
"They love me too fast"
Both women started to laugh. It was a kodak moment, sort of,Jinny was finally loosening up and being herself.
"So that makes you run, cause they love you too fast. What is so wrong with that?"
"It just scares me, especially since I don't love them back, I guess I just don't fall in love."
-sorry guys, I'll continue this chapter when I can. My dad is kicking me off.

Chapter 8 continued
"OKay think, you must have had some man that you wanted to fulfill your dream with."
"Yeah, but he well sort of cheated on me. I guess I don't let myself fall in love because I might get hurt. In more ways than one."
"How?"
"hmm?"
"How will you be hurt in more ways than one?"
"Emotional, and physical. YEs I have been physically abused before, but got out of it before something serious could happen."
"Well that's good....Oh it seems we have run out of time.I shall see you at 4 the day after tomarrow. You have my card so call me if you feel like hurting yourself."
"will do." and with that she left the building.
Jinny walked over to her car and stood there for a moment then opened the door and got in.She looked at her watch '12:03 lunch time' she thought.But found herself nowhere near a resturant. It was a bar. She walked in and sat at the bar next to two rough looking bikers.
"151 proof rum mixed with vodka"she ordered.

Chapter 9
The next thing jinny knew it was seven and she was hammard. The bartender was refusing to serve her. He handed her a phone and she looked at it puzzeled.
"to call someone sweatheart" He said. Jinny stared at the buttons for a long time. She thought about calling her dad, since she was staying there, but she didn't want to worry him and give him a heartattack. 'Well what about Captain. Nah she'd yell' She also thought about Cd or Angela, but she didn't kinow them well enough. "How 'bout Magda or Anne" she accidently said aloud.
The bartender looked at her strangly"okay how about Magda since you said her name first"said a very annoyed man.
"Okay" she slured and dialed the number of her best friends cell phone.
Magda CD and Angela and Kate were sitting at the Anchorside eating dinner and discusing cases,when Magdas cell started to ring. "Must be the warrant...Hello?" Her face looked dissapointed but somewhat glad. "Yeah where are you? Stay put." She turned to her friends and simply smiled then left. When Magda arrived at the bar she walked in slowly and spotted jinny slumped down on a stool. She walked up to her and put her hand on her shoulder.
Jinny turned around and saw a familar face. It was blury, but she could still see the anger.
"I'm sorry" she whispered and tried to get up. First she fell back on the stool then she stood up and feel inbetween the bikers.
Magda grabbed Jinny and led her out to her car, shaking her head the whole time. It was humialating to be seen with Jinny like that. 'At least she called me' she thought. She just kept thinking that during the entire drive to Jinnys dad's house.
Jinny walked up the stairs of her childhood home to her room. She got to her room and laid down on her bed. she fell asleep almost instantly.
John Exstaed walked into his little girls room and saw her asleep. He went over and took off her shoes and pulled up the covers. He went to kiss her goodnight but smelt the alcohol on her breath. He turned off the lights and closed the door realizing she wasn't his little girl anymore.

This is great!Can't wait for more!

-okay sorry it has been sooooo long but I had to go to Long Beach (sister going to collage)and when I got back I had to go to the funnest place on the face of the earth...school.

Chapter 10
The sun was shining brightly on Jinny Exstead.She groaned. Her eyes opened then closed. She stired in her bed for a while then got up and sprinted to the bathroom. She fell on her knees at the base of the toilet. She lifted the lid and began to hurl.
"Errr, how much did I drink last light? God I hate myself, Oh great headache." Jinny moaned while getting dressed for the shower. After the shower she grabbed a towel and started to brush her hair and teeth. She quickly dressed and went downstairs for breakfast or lunch, whichever came first. After lunch she sat down on the couch and picked up some picture albums. She lookeed through her baby book, her mom's family followed by her dad's, and then she looked at her own family. She didn't know most of the people on her mom's side or her dad's for that matter.
John walked over to his daughter on the couch and hugged her. He smiled when she kissed his cheek. He noticed she was looking through some photos of his belated wife.
"That's your great grandmother Samantha JInny Jackson. You see the name Samantha got passed down from your 5th generation grandmother, did I say that right?"
"No but I understand, continue please."
"Anyway the name got passed to the first born girl."
"So why am I Jinny?"
"I like the name better, Is it problem?"
"No"
As he kept telling his daughter about her background and heritage she hugged him tightly and she was his little girl again.
