It didn't have the "applause after every character's entrance" syndrome other sitcoms had at the time!

View Full Version : One noticeable thing about "The Jeffersons" Sammy Reed 08-23-2008, 03:32 PM It didn't have the "applause after every character's entrance" syndrome other sitcoms had at the time! JulieSomoski 08-23-2008, 05:38 PM It didn't have the "applause after every character's entrance" syndrome other sitcoms had at the time! That's true, and thank god - that annoyed the hell out of me. Like on Family Matters, in the later seasons, they always added audience applause whenever somebody walked into a room. You'd think that half the show was filled with the audience's applause-LOL Janice 08-23-2008, 05:46 PM No, The Jeffersons didn't do this, as much. They did it a little; for example, with Mr. Bentley. A little sure beats constantly, which is enough to drive a person crazy. Brian Damage 08-23-2008, 06:49 PM No, The Jeffersons didn't do this, as much. But like you said, a few times is plenty. Chocolate Moose 08-24-2008, 07:17 PM I DEF remembered it catlover79 08-24-2008, 10:11 PM No, The Jeffersons didn't do this, as much. Too bad the Happy Days people didn't realize that a little of that stuff goes a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way. TVFactFan 08-24-2008, 10:33 PM yeah I loved it on Married With Children but it only happened on the Jeffersons when Bentley returned from Russia PrettyinPink55 08-25-2008, 01:54 AM They did the applause thing a lot on Good Times too. catlover79 08-25-2008, 12:14 PM They did the applause thing a lot on Good Times too. Not to mention Sanford & Son. JulieSomoski 08-26-2008, 01:51 PM Not to mention Sanford & Son. And Family Matters - they did it a lot in the last seasons. Whenever somebody walked through the damn door they started clapping-LOL catlover79 08-26-2008, 02:13 PM And Family Matters - they did it a lot in the last seasons. Whenever somebody walked through the damn door they started clapping-LOL I still think Happy Days was the worst offender in this category, but you've got a point with Family Matters. JulieSomoski 08-26-2008, 04:06 PM I still think Happy Days was the worst offender in this category, but you've got a point with Family Matters. No, you're probably right - Happy Days did it almost every episode, especially in the later seasons, I can almost assure you. I think most 70's sitcoms did this - why, I don't know  catlover79 08-26-2008, 04:07 PM No, you're probably right - Happy Days did it almost every episode, especially in the later seasons, I can almost assure you. I think most 70's sitcoms did this - why, I don't know  I just wish they would mute the sound on the DVDs so we don't have to hear the annoying crowd noises. TVFactFan 08-26-2008, 06:14 PM No, you're probably right - Happy Days did it almost every episode, especially in the later seasons, I can almost assure you. I think he was a Theo wannabe. |
