Okay this is currently untitled.
Jinny and Magda both walked into the division, and sat down in their usual manner. CD and Angela were already there, fighting about God knows what.
“Angela I already”
“CD just shut up, I know what you told me already” she told her in a snotty little voice. Then Kate walks out of her office.
“CD, Angela” She said “We’ve got a homicide at 2420 S. Street. A Rachel Ricker, nineteen.”
“Are there any suspects?” CD asked.
“Not that we know of.”
“Okay” CD told her.
“Jinny, Magda, there’s a missing person report that I’m giving to you two. Her name is Dehnia Herrick. She’s a fifteen year old girl, been missing for forty-eight hours now.”
”Are there any leads on where she may be?” Magda asked her.
“Well I can tell you one thing, she’s involved in a gang. So that may add on to your problems. Here’s her picture, she was last seen wearing blue jeans and a baggy white t-shirt.”
“Alright.” Jinny said.

CD and Angela drive up to the to the house.
“Here it is, 2420 S. Street.” CD said.
“Okay let’s go see what they’ve got.”
CD and Angela walked into the house. They went into the bedroom and saw Rachel Ricker lying on the bed, with her throat cut open.
“Oh my God” Angela said.
“Geez. Okay well let’s see here. Hi Steven, well it’s pretty obvious what happened here.” CD said
“Hi CD, yeah well she was obviously stabbed.”
“How long?” CD asked him.
“Uh, probably between 5:00 am and 8:00 am. Since its nine now.”
“Geez, when are people going to learn, this is wrong.” Angela Said.

Magda and Jinny are looking over the file. Dehnia Herrick’s mother had died in a car accident when Dehnia was only ten.
“Man, losing her mom when she was ten, that wouldn’t be so good.” Magda remarked.
“Yeah well.” Jinny said.
“Jinny what is with you today? You’re not yourself.”
“Nothing Mag, nothing.”
“Why don’t I believe that?”
“Just shut up, okay. I’ll tell you later.”
“Whatever.”
“Let’s go talk to her Dad.”
At Mr. Herrick’s house you could tell he was a wreck. He hadn’t slept much and had been drinking a lot.
“Mr. Herrick, you lost your wife 5 years ago, is that right?” Magda asked
It was clear to both of them he had a drinking problem. They were looking around the house and had found a lot of beer bottles. You could tell that seeing this made Jinny uptight.
“Yes. She died in a car accident.” He said.
“Thank you Mr. Herrick. If we find anything we’ll call you immediately.” Jinny told him.

In the car Magda was trying to get Jinny to talk.
“Jinny, something’s wrong. You know it, I know it, and if you don’t start acting like yourself the captain’s going to know it.”
“Magda, listen I don’t want to talk about it.”
“C’mon Jinny, keeping it bottled up inside of you ain’t going to help any.”
“Listen Mag, I said I don’t want to talk about it. So I’m not going to talk about it.”
“I feel sorry for Dehnia, the girls dad obviously has a drinking problem, and loosing her mom when she was ten.”
“Magda, several years ago today, when I was fourteen, my mother killed herself. There, ya happy, I told you.”
“Jinny, I’m sorry I didn’t know.”
“Yeah well then I was lucky I wasn’t stupid enough to join a gang.”

Teddy: What's this dress look like anyway?
Jinny: Oh, yeah, OK. Low cut, skin tight, animal print, ruffle at the bottom. Don't you have lawyering to do?

Teddy: Be honest with me, not my parents!
Jinny: All right, fine. You want honesty? Why don't you let me tell you a little bit about my family? See, I never really had a birthday party unless you wanna count my 15th, when my father showed up for cake, plastered in his underwear! Oh... yeah, by the way, my mom couldn't make it that year either because, well, sadly, six months earlier she blew her brains out!!!!!
Teddy: Jinny, my God.
Jinny: As for my brother, ugh... yeah, John... see, he just doesn't like you unless your American, white, and straight... and for me, a few weeks ago when I had that nut case after me... yeah, I had to make a little list, of all the guys that I've slept with in the last two years. I couldn't remember some of their names.
Teddy: Stop.
Jinny: Ya know what? This is who I am, this is my family!!!! Come on, it's your turn. Go ahead, flash that all-American, prep school, choir boy smile and you tell me that it doesn't matter!

A day with Blair is like walking up San Juan Hill. Every time you turn around she's yelling CHARGE!

PART TWO

Magda just sits there in astonishment.
”Jinny, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize that it was, well today.” Magda tells her.
“Mag, just drop it. I don’t want you telling CD, Angela, or Captain.”
“Whatever.”
CD and Angela are at Rachel’s house.
“Well if our information is right Rachel was here going to college. Maybe a teacher or friend could help.”
“Sure, maybe.”
CD and Angela head back to the station. Jinny and Magda are there looking through files.
“Hey.” CD says
“Hi.” Magda and Jinny respond.
Then John and Casey came in. You could tell that they were both distracted today, like Jinny.
“Hey Jinny.” Casey said
“Hey guys. Uh want to go for lunch?” Jinny asked them.
“Sure” they both say.

Out at lunch Jinny, Casey and John are sitting at a restaurant.
“God I miss her.” Jinny said.
“Yeah, me too.” Casey responded.
“Ya know she wasn’t too bad.” John said.
“Uh huh, well you didn’t have to go through growing up, and being a girl, with out a mother.”
“We both had to grow up without a mom Jinny.” John remarked.
Then Jinny’s cell phone rings.
”Exstead, hey Magda. You did. Sure I’ll be right there.” She hangs up “Hey guys sorry to bail, but Magda thinks she’s found the kid. Don’t even ask.”

Okay I know, it was boring. Please respond.

Oh and one more thing, this story will lead up to something.

PART THREE

CD and Angela are heading to the college that Rachel was attending. You could tell that CD had a lot on her mind and wasn’t really concentrating on the case. Angela could tell that something was wrong, but figured that CD would or will tell her when she’s ready.
“So who are we talking to first?” Angela asked CD.
“A girl named Annie Morris. From what we’ve found out she was Rachel’s best friend.”
CD and Angela arrive at the college. They walk into the office.
“Hi, where would I find a Ms. Annie Morris?” CD asked
“Why would you like to see her?” The receptionist asked her.
“SFPD, we need to ask her a couple of questions.” CD said in a polite, but strait forward matter.
“Room 224. Chemistry Lab.” She said.
“Thank you.” Angela told her.

Jinny and Magda are outside of a diner. There’s a girl inside with the same description as Dehnia.
“So what’s going on in there?” Jinny asked.
“Well Dehnia has threatened to shoot anyone who leaves the building, or anyone who enters it.” Magda explained. Jinny could tell something was bothering her.
“Okay, I know this isn’t the time to ask, but what’s wrong?”
“Ben and Ma are in there, see.”
Jinny looks through the window and sees Dehnia in there with a gun. Then she looks around and sees Ben and Magda’s mom.
“Oh my God.”
“Yeah, Oh my God.” Magda says.

CD and Angela are walking through the halls at the college.
”There it is, room 224. Chemistry Lab.” CD says, “Let’s go.”
CD and Angela walk in the room.
“Hi um, we need to talk to a Annie Morris.” CD says.
“That’s me.” A young girl with blonde hair and blue eyes stands up, “You want to talk with me.”
”Yeah.” Angela tells her the three girls step into the hall.
“So you are you guys?” Annie asks the two Inspectors.
“I’m Inspector DeLorenzo, and this is Inspector Reide. We want to ask you some questions about Rachel Ricker.”
“Why is she in trouble or something?”
”No, Annie Rachel was murdered last night. You didn’t know that.” CD said, kind of amazed no one had told her.
“Nobody told me. Who, how?” She asked. Kind of amazed.
“We are trying to find out that right now. Now we understand that you and Rachel were quite close.” Angela said to the Annie, who still had a look of astonishment on her face.
“Yeah, we were like sisters. We had been friends since first grade.” Annie told them.
“Listen, Annie, we’re going to take you to the station and ask you some questions.” CD told her calmly.
“Alright.” Annie said. Still looking as if she didn’t believe them or know what to say.

PART FOUR

Outside of the little diner where Dehnia is not letting anybody in or out, Magda and Jinny just stand there wondering what to do. Magda was sitting there, quite uptight, and Jinny was trying to comfort Mag yet figure out how to get Dehnia, and everyone else, out of there, alive.
“Magda, Ben and your mom will be okay.” Jinny said, in a reassuring voice. But Magda could tell that Jinny was hesitant.
“I hope so. Now how do we get her out of there, or get ourselves in there?” She said.
“Well we could send someone in, like they don’t realize what’s going on.” Jinny said, knowing it wouldn’t work, but it’s a possibility.
“Jinny, she knows we’re out here, no one would be allowed to enter.” Magda told her.
“Yeah, your right. So how do we do this?”
”Well I think there’s a window in the bathroom, it doesn’t lock. It’s big enough for me to go through, get behind her…”
Cutting Magda off “Uh you better let me go. Ben’s in there, and your mom.
“No Jinny, I’m going to go. I’ll get behind her, and have her drop her weapon and the whole thing so forth.” Magda told her. “I’ll be okay.”
“Are you sure?” Jinny asked her hoping she’d say no.
“Yeah. I’m sure. This is something that I’m going to do.” Magda said it strait forward.
“Body armor.” Jinny told her.
Magda put it on and went around to the back of the building. She saw the window and climbed through. She carefully went through the door being as quiet as possible. She got behind Dehnia and quickly said “SFPD Drop your gun now.”
Dehnia turned around and saw her. She shot at Magda, Jinny saw Magda fall to the ground. Jinny put on her body armor really fast, and ran in. Dehnia was just looking at Magda; she had a blank expression on her face.
Jinny arrested her, and read her, her rites. “Oh my god, Magda.”
Ben and Magda’s mom walk up behind Jinny, “Jinny is my mom okay?” Ben asked her.
Jinny just turned around, looked at him and said “I don’t know Ben, I honestly don’t know.”

Meantime, CD and Angela are in talking to Annie. “So Annie, you’re saying that Rachel was very liked in college.” Angela said
“Yeah, Rachel was very likeable. She didn’t have any enemies.” Annie told them.
The captain walks in and asked if she could see CD and Angela in the hall for a minute.
“Girls, I’ve got to go, I’ll be back as soon as I can. For now, you two are in charge. Don’t throw any wild parties.” She said
“Sure captain, what’s wrong?” CD asked her.
“Uh I’ll tell you later.” She said and walked off in a hurry.

Kate walks into the hospital, she sees Jinny sitting there.
“Hey Jinny, any news?” She asks her.
“Nope.”
“Jinny, I know about your mom, and I think that’s why you aren’t quite yourself today.” She said, approaching the subject hesitantly.
“Please say Magda didn’t tell you.”
”No. I remember hearing about it when your dad was still on the force.” She stated, “I just want you to know, if you want to talk about it I’ll be there.”
“I’m fine, okay.” Jinny just says it, strait forward, trying to keep from crying.
“Whatever suits you best Jinny.”

CD and Angela had just finished talking to Annie.
“So the only person Annie could think of that may have had something against Rachel was Tommy Highs, her ex-boyfriend.” Angela said, “CD?”
”Yeah sorry, right. Tommy Highs is what she thought.” CD said with her mind on something else. CD’s cell phone rings. “DeLorenzo” she said “hey captain, what? Yeah we’ll be there soon. Bye.”
“Was that the captain?” Angela asked.
“Yeah, Magda was shot.”

PART SIX

Angela just looks at CD in astonishment; “Are you serious?” was all she could say.
“Yeah, I guess they found the girl they were looking for. Magda went in, not thinking, and the girl shot her. But don’t quote me on that.”
“Is she okay?”
“I don’t know, why do you think we’re going there?” CD said in a sarcastic voice.
“CD, this is some thing you should probably take seriously.”
”Okay…I know that.”

CD and Angela fought all the way to the hospital, like that wasn’t expected. They enter see Jinny is a nervous wreck, and Kate sitting there, not knowing what to do. CD walks over to Jin and tries to comfort her.
“Jinny, Mag will be fine. I promise.” She said in a reassuring voice.
“You can’t be sure about that. Geez, this is all my fault, I shouldn’t have let her go in there in the first place.”
“I don’t follow.”
“Well I tried to talk Magda out of it, and go in, in her place. I reminded her about Ben, and she may want to be alive to see her son grow up. But she didn’t listen.”
”Jinny you tried, and that’s all you could do.” Angela told her.
A doctor walked out and looked through a file. “Ramirez” he called out. The four other women responded. “Well she was shot in the head, and the bullet is in the middle of the brain.”
Jinny looked at him with disbelief. “Are you serious?” she asked him, hoping that he wasn’t.
“Yes I am, she has a low chance of survival, and if she does survive she only has five percent chance of making it without brain damage.” He told them, solemnly, but still strait forward. “I’m sorry.”
“Oh my God.” Jinny said, and started crying like a baby.
“Yeah okay, so this girl, please tell me your charging her with something.” CD said, you could tell she wanted to cry, but also wanted to keep her image. CD never cries, and she didn’t want to start now.
“Yeah, depending on what happens to Magda. If she dies, the homicide of a police officer, if she doesn’t then attempted homicide of a police officer.” Captain said.
“Jinny calm down.” CD said, trying to comfort her, but not knowing what to say. “Yes and shouldn’t someone call her mom and Ben, so they don’t freak out?”
“Probably,” the captain responded, “You want to do the honors?”
“No not really.” CD told her.
“Fine then I will.” Kate said.

After she had called Magda’s mom, her and Ben were heading strait to the hospital. Jinny was a wreck, was ignoring everyone, and crying. CD had been trying to comfort her and get her to talk, with some help from Angela. Kate as well as the other two knew that if they let Jinny out of site for one second, she would go strait to Anchorside, and the rest is history.

Magda’s mom and Ben came through the door, and Jinny knew she had to pull herself together, for Ben, and for herself. She knew what was happening couldn’t be good for her health.

NOTE: I have done research on what is happening to Magda. This happened to my cousin’s Uncle. The chances are as accurate as I can get them, and I do know my facts on this. I witnessed what it’s like to have it done to a family member, I was incredibly close to him too. He didn’t survive. So I have done my part, in knowing what really happens.

PART SEVEN

“What’s wrong with my mom?” Ben questioned, looking for answers.
“Ben, your mom was hurt.” Jinny answered him, hoping to keep herself together.
“Is she going to be okay?” He asked. Jinny didn’t really want to answer this, knowing she would cry. She just kept quiet.
“We don’t know Ben.” CD finally said.

Jinny was really upset at this point and couldn’t take it anymore. She ran to the bathroom followed by Angela to make sure she’s okay.
“Jinny, you okay?”
“Yeah, today’s just a really bad day.”
“Oh…Jinny this is more than Magda isn’t it?”
“She told.” Jinny said with disbelief. She thought her best friend wouldn’t tell anyone.
“No, just a premonition.” She told her, now knowing something was really wrong.
“Listen, the only people who know are Magda and Captain. Captain new before I came to work. So just don’t say anything and act like I didn’t say anything except stuff about Magda to you.”
“Fine.”

Outside, the rest of the people were just sitting there, knowing that this had to be really, really bad. Jinny and Angela came out, Jinny had been crying and Captain knew what it was about. She asked Jin if she wanted to talk, but she just said no. Jinny had been her usual self today, STUBBORN. Jinny’s Cell phone rang, so she answered.
“Exstead, John hi, what’s wrong? DAD WHAT? Oh my god. Yeah well, I’m already here. Don’t ask. Yeah well see ya here. Bye.” Jinny hang up, everyone, except Ben and his grandma who weren’t really paying any attention, knew something was wrong. But no one wanted to say anything, knowing Jinny’s personality. Jinny sat down, staring into space with disbelief. Kate dragged Jinny outside, and tried to get her to talk.
“Jinny what was that about?” She asked her.
“D…d…d…ad t…t…t…trrriied too kill hh…h…h…imself.”
“He what?”
“Dad tried to commit suicide.” Jinny said as she fell to the ground crying.
Kate dragged her back inside, practically carrying her, dropped her in the chair and rubbed her back. She realized Jin had to be going through tough times right now and didn’t want to do anything that may upset her more.
“What’s wrong with Jin?” CD asked her, quietly so Jinny didn’t hear.
Kate shook her head and responded, “Listen, it’s personal. So it’s her business.
CD and Angela just looked at her, wishing they knew what was wrong. They wanted to help, but the just didn’t feel right invading her privacy.

PART EIGHT

Jinny sat there waiting for Casey and John. When they finally get in they see Jinny sitting there along with everyone else.
“Why’d ya bring everyone Jin?” John asked her
“Haha, I already told you I was here. So this should be no surprise to you. Listen, how.” She asked them
“He just did, to many sleeping pills. I went to his house today so I could ask him something. I saw him sleeping but it was important. I tried to wake him up and he wouldn’t. I noticed an empty bottle of sleeping pills, I looked on the table and saw a note, I read it…” Casey had been telling Jinny but he couldn’t anymore. He started crying.
“And it was a suicide note.” John finished for him.
“Oh my god.” Jinny said. CD, Angela, and Kate overheard them. None of them said anything to her.

PART NINE

The three of them sat there in amazement, they all had blank expressions on their faces. Jinny looked at Casey, sitting their crying, she looked at John, who just sat there. Jinny guessed he was trying to figure out why. She didn’t know what to do; she didn’t want to cry in front of John, or Kate, CD, and Angela. But she couldn’t hold in her emotions and just let the tears flow. She knew that everyone could see her, but she didn’t care.

CD walked over to Jin, but she just pushed her away. It was clear to everyone that she just needed to be left alone at this point. Too much was going on right now, and Jinny needed a chance to deal with all of it.

Casey had always looked to Jinny in the past for help with his problems, she was the only one who would listen to him, but now Casey felt alone. Jinny wasn’t talking to anyone, and John, well he just didn’t listen to Casey after he found out he was gay. Right now Casey felt alone, like he couldn’t go to anyone.

John just sat there. Doing nothing, everyone knew he wanted to cry, but he couldn’t. John was a guy who didn’t cry, he wanted to have a reputation where he wasn’t a baby.

“Ramirez” a doctor came out, he had a frown on his face, CD knew something was wrong as Angela and Kate did. Jinny was too busy bawling her eyes out to notice.

PART TEN

“Yeah?” CD said
“Well we ran a CT and several other tests, we would normally try to remove the bullet, but where the bullet entered there’s a blood clot. If we try to remove it she would suffer a stroke. That would leave her with less of a chance to no chance of survival.” He told them
“Are you serious???” Jinny had jumped in; she had been listening, but didn’t want everyone to see her bright red eyes.
“Yes, I am. Ms. Ramirez is in a coma right now; she is on a respirator. People may see her two at a time now. I would recommend keeping children out. It’s not a pretty sight.”
“Thank you.” Kate said.

Magda’s mom just sat there, not knowing what to say or what to do. Jinny was freaking out and Ben didn’t know what was happening. CD and Angela were sitting down and they were whispering to each other with concerned looks on their faces. While Kate was uptight, yet trying to get Jinny to calm down before she had a heart attack.
“Well someone should go see her.” CD said, hesitantly.
“Yeah, CD’s right.” Angela said.
“I’ll go.” Her mom told them.
“You can go alone Mrs. Ramirez.” Kate told her.

Just then another doctor came out, “Exstead” he called.
Jinny, Casey and John stood up, “Well, he had his stomach pumped, we’ll have to wait to see if there’s anything else. Although, we did find a large amount of alcohol in his blood.” He told them, “There’s a chance that he could have washed down the pills with alcohol, then there may be some side effects that could be life threatening.”
“Like what?” Jinny asked him.
“Very bad seizers, loss of the use of his legs, and several other things. But he may lose his life to this.”
“Oh my God.” Was all John could spit out.

The doctor left and Jinny ran out the door. She couldn’t take the pressure anymore. Magda was shot, her dad tried to kill himself, and her mom killed herself several years ago today. CD and Angela ran after her, they both knew that several things could go wrong, and that includes Jinny trying to kill herself.

Jinny was long gone by the time they got out of the door; she got in her car and drove off. CD and Angela didn’t know where she went. Jinny went back to her apartment. She went to her closet and got out a gun…

Jinny was crying very hard now, “I can’t take this anymore, I’m getting out of this now.” She told herself as she put the gun to her head. She heard a knock on the door, but didn’t care who it was. She just ignored it. She wrote a note and put it on the table.

Friends and Family,

I am sorry, but I’m sick of my life, and everything that’s going wrong. I love you guys, and I’m sorry to be doing this. But there’s no other way out. If dad survives tell him I love him. If Mag does, tell her how much she means to me. I love you all, and you were true friends and family. But my time on earth has ended now.

Jinny picked up the gun, put it back to her head and pulled the trigger. As soon as CD and Angela (They were the ones outside the door) heard it they ran in. CD and Angela saw her, CD saw the note read it and gasped.
”Hey Angela, Look at this. I’ll get 911.” CD yelled
Angela read the note, looked at CD and freaked out.
“Angela, she’s still breathing, there’s a chance we can still save her. Now let’s go.”
Angela just stood there; she couldn’t believe what she just read. As soon as the paramedics got there CD and Angela went out to the car. Angela just sat there, expressionless. CD knew it was a shock; it was to her too.

When they went got to the hospital, Kate saw Angela, noticed CD was just kind of, barely, probably not even, in reality.
“CD what happened?” Kate asked.
When she got no answer, and since Jinny wasn’t with them she knew. Jinny had tried to commit suicide. Angela quickly slipped Captain the note.
“Is she?”
“We don’t’ know.” CD said

“What are you talking about CD?” Casey asked her.
CD just gave him the note; he looked at her with a questioning look on her face.
“Yeah, Casey, this is real.” She told him.
“What is it Casey?” John asked him.
“Read.”
“Oh my God. Is she?”
“I don’t know.” CD said.

A doctor walks out, “John Exstead SR?”
“Yeah, is this my dad or sister?” John asked.
“Your dad. He’s awake and you may go see him now.”
“Thank you.” Casey told him.

In Jinny’s Dad’s room, Casey and John looked at him. Casey looked away.
“That’s not dad. We must have the wrong room.” Casey said to John.
“Casey that’s him. That’s dad.”
Casey gulped and walked over to his bedside. So did John.
“Dad,” John said, “I love you.”
In a very week voice his dad said, “I’m not dead, am I?”
“No you aren’t dad.” John said.
“Where’s Jin?”
“Uh yeah, she’s working.” Casey said trying to cover up.
“Okay.”

In the waiting room Magda’s mom comes back out. She’s crying very hard. No one really wanted to go in, they couldn’t bear to see Magda hurt. Casey and John came out of their Dad’s room crying. CD was the only one who realized what they were going through with their dad, Jinny, and their mom. But she didn’t want to but into their business.

“Jinny Exstead?” a doctor came out.
“Yeah.” Everyone, except Ben and Magda’s mom said.
“Well,” the doctor gulps; everyone knows something’s wrong, “She didn’t make it.”
“Are you serious?” Casey looks at him, he knows he is, but has to ask anyway.
“Yes, I’m sorry.”

PART THIRTEEN

Okay…you MAY need a Kleenex

CD and Angela are just sitting there, staring at each other, Casey is bawling, John is sitting there, expressionless, and Kate is sitting there, not knowing what to think.
“John, don’t you think we should tell dad?” Casey asked him, between tears.
“Yeah probably.” He said, in a monotone voice.
“Go ahead, we’re going to go work on the case some more.” CD told everyone.
“YOU’RE WHAT?” Kate screamed.
“Captain, I don’t want to be here right now. I would like to be anywhere but a hospital.” CD told her.
“Well I guess I see where you’re coming from here. Go ahead.”

In Jinny’s Dad’s room, John and Casey walk in. Jin’s Dad could tell from the look on their faces that something was wrong.
“What is it guys?” He said.
“Jinny…well Jinny killed herself.” John said as Casey ran out of the room as fast as he could.
“She…she…she kkk...illed hhh…err..ssssell…selfff?” He said, very amazed.
“Yeah,” John said “She did.”

Back at the Station, CD sits down at her desk and buries her head in her face. She didn’t want to cry, but there was no use in holding it in.
“CD, what’s wrong?” DeLuca came up to her and asked.
“Nothing.”
“Mag’s in the hospital, she was shot on the job. Jinny is dead.” Angela fell to the ground; it hit her then and there. Jinny was dead, gone forever.
“Oh my God” DeLuca said as he walked away.
“Well, we better work, that’s what we said we were going to do.” CD said, trying to stop crying.
“Yeah.” Angela replied.
“Well let’s talk to Tommy Highs, Rachel’s ex.”
“Sure, where would we find him?”

At the hospital, a doctor walks out of Magda’s room; he looks very discouraged.
“Ramirez,” everyone responded, “well I’m afraid to say that she suffered a stroke. If she does survive this, she’ll have severe brain damage.” Kate couldn’t believe what she was hearing; “I would recommend taking her off of life support, that would be the best for her. But I have to leave this decision up to her family.”

As the doctor left Kate decided to call CD. “CD yeah, hi, Magda suffered a stroke, well her mom has to decide whether to take her off of life support or not. Yes CD, I’m serious. Okay, see ya.”

“Captain McCafferty,” Magda’s mom started to talk, “Would it be a good idea to leave my girl on life support?”
“I’d give her a chance. This just happened today. Maybe she’ll survive.”
CD and Angela came through the door. Angela was yet again expressionless; it was upsetting to see every one in such different ways, handling the emotion in several different ways.
“Well our shift is over, I’m going home. I would recommend every one does.” Kate said.
“Yeah I better go.” Angela told them.
“Me too.” CD said, as she got ready.
“C’mon Ben, you need to go to sleep.” Magda’s mom said.

When CD got home, she notice Paul wasn’t there. “God Paul, why do you always do this?” CD thought.

She got ready and went to bed. At about 2 am Paul came in and lied down. He saw that CD was asleep.

Angela got home; Daniel had just gotten there too.
“Hey Ange.” Daniel said.
“Hi.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Long HORRIBLE day.”
“What happened?”
“A terrible case, long day sitting in the hospital.”
“Why were you at the hospital?”

PART FOURTEEN

Daniel tried his hardest to comfort Angela, but everything he tried didn’t work. Angela had a long hard and horrible day. Unfortunately Angela didn’t want anyone to help.

When Kate got home, Amanda was in watching TV (still recovering). Amanda could tell her mom had a bad day.
“Mom, bad day?”
“Yeah, don’t even ask.”
“Well, I’m going to ask anyway. Why did you have a bad day?”
“Two of my inspectors got hurt, one didn’t make it.”
“Who?”
Kate started crying, “Magda was shot on the job. Jinny commit suicide. Now, if you don’t mind I’m getting dinner and going to bed.”
“Go ahead mom, I understand.” Amanda said, looking at her sympathetically.

When Magda’s mom and Ben got home Ben looked at his grandma and asked her, “Grandma, is Mommy going to be okay?”
“I don’t know Ben, now go to sleep.”
“I heard them talking about Jinny, is she okay?”
“Ben, she is dead. Now please go to sleep. I don’t want to talk about this.”

At CD’s it was two in the morning, CD was still awake but acted as if she was asleep. Paul got into bed; CD knew what he had done. Paul had just recently showered. She knew he was having another affair. She was sick of it, so she got up grabbed a blanket, and then Paul asked her, “CD where are you going?”
“Downstairs. I’ll be on the couch if you need me.”
“Why?”
“You know why, Paul. Why don’t you think about it a little while?”
“CD I don’t understand.”
“Paul, why are you home so late?”
“I had to work. I’m sorry I should have called you.”
“Yeah, I don’t believe you. I don’t know why I ever did. You’re having another affair, aren’t you?”
“Candy, no.” Paul was very hesitant, “Candy, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have done it. She came on to me. It was so tempting. It’s a bad habit I started. I did it once, and now I can’t stop.”
“Sure you can’t Paul.” She looked at him with a very disgusted look on her face, “What was all that crap about how you ‘want to change’? Because by doing this you’ve proven to me that you don’t want to change.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Yeah well, I’ve had a really bad day today, and this just makes it worse. I can’t accept your apology this time Paul. That’s because I can’t believe it.”
“Candy,” CD walks out of the room, she’s crying because of everything that has happened in this past day. She can’t stand seeing Ben, wondering if his mom’s okay, seeing Casey and John, worrying about their dad, and them loosing their sister, her loosing a friend and now Paul. This has been the worst day of her life.

The next morning everyone was called and everyone is going to meet at the hospital. CD, Kate, and Angela all took of work. Once everyone is there, everyone just stared at each other. No one could believe what was happening.

A doctor walked out of the room “Ramirez,” everyone responded, “she just woke up. That is a very good thing, this means she may survive. We are running tests but have already come to the conclusion that she has lost use of both of her legs. She can talk, but I can’t guarantee that she’ll remember names. When we are done running tests she can have visitors.”
“Thanks.” CD managed to say. She had to admit, she was happy that Magda was still alive. Even though she may not remember everything she was still here. It was a true miracle.
“What did that guy say? Is my Mom okay?” Ben asked.
“They don’t know if she’ll be okay yet, but she’s better.” Angela said with a smile. She realized that there would be a long road of recovery, but still her friend was okay. Even if she couldn’t be on the street, she was still alive. And she may not have any brain damage. She still wished Jinny were here, no one could tell how Magda would take it, that is if she remembered her.

About twenty minutes later, a doctor came out, “Ramirez,” everyone again responded, “Well we finished the tests, and as far as we can tell, there was no brain damage except the loss of her legs. You would have to go and see her to be sure. I’ll wait outside, if she remembers names, people, looks or anything else, tell me, which would mean there’s probably no brain damage. So that means everyone here for her can go see her now.”

In Magda’s room her Mom and Ben went in the room first. CD, Angela, and Kate followed. Hoping she didn’t say anything about Jinny.
“Mom?”
“Magdalena, it’s me.”
“Ben?”
“Mommy.”
”Hey Papi.”
“CD, Angela?”
”Yeah, it’s us.”
“Captain?”
“Hey Magda.”
”Where’s Jinny?”
CD and Angela looked at each other, then at Kate. She gave them that ‘Don’t tell’ look.
“She’s working.” CD said.
“Oh.” Magda said.
“We’re going to let you rest Magda.” Her mom told her.

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!!! I had to save Magda, I can't kill two people!

You should'nt have killed Jinny.If anyone it should have been Jinny's Father.Oh well..

As they all leave the room the doctor is standing outside to see what went on. “So?”
“She remembered everything, including her best friend, who wasn’t even there.” Kate told him
“Oh where’s her best friend?”
“Dead. She commit suicide right after she found out about Magda.” Kate just stopped, thinking about Jinny

***FLASHBACK*** (this may or may not be what happened) Several years earlier, Jinny was just made an Inspector and moved up to the Homicide Desk.

EXSTEAD, in my office, NOW!
“What is it Captain?”
“You screwed up the case, you got the wrong guy; Justin Tussock couldn’t of killed Sally. You should’ve checked the prints, and the fact that he was out of town. He had three people who proved that to us. This is the second case you’ve had, and the second one you’ve screwed up. You do it again your going to loose your job.” Kate told her, very upset.
“Sorry, Geez.” Jinny said in her sarcastic voice.
“Exstead, if you screw up ANY case one more time, you’re off the streets.”

***END OF FLASHBACK***

Everyone went back to the waiting room; CD was sitting next to Casey. Angela was talking to her, but CD was in her own little world.

“Hey rookie, so you must be Inspector Jinny Exstead.” CD said as Jinny walked into the division. It was her first day as an Inspector, and she figured she’d get cracks about being new. “I’m Inspector Candace DeLorenzo, but I go by CD.”
“Hi.” Jinny said, “How long you been on the force anyway?”
“Oh it’s about, 9 (not really sure how long) years now.”
“Geez.”

CD got a call, and since Dick, her usual partner, was sick she had to grab another inspector and go. “C’mon Exstead, we’ve got a homicide.”
“Wait it’s my first day, would someone explain this to me?”
“I’ll explain on the way. My usual partner, Dick, is sick. You’re the only other homicide inspector here. Let’s go.”

CD and Jinny talked all the way in the car about procedures and other stuff.

***END OF FLASHBACK***

“CD!!!” Angela yelled trying to get her attention.
“What?”
“Yeah, we got a call, Annie found Tommy. I think we should go question him.”
“Whatever.” CD and Angela got up and left.

In the Car on the way back to the station CD and Angela got talking about Jinny, “Yeah, remember that time, the first time you met her and Magda, and we were talking. Something really funny came up…I can’t think of what it was.” CD said with a smile on her face.
“Yeah wasn’t it breast implants or something?” Angela said with a smile remembering how much fun they had.
“Yes, I think it was. I’m gonna miss her so much.”
“Me too. She was so funny. I just wish we all could’ve talked her out of it, or caught her before she did it.”
“Yeah, Jinny had so many problems she never talked about. I felt so sorry for her.” CD said, starting to get tears in her eyes.
“She was so great, I mean we all have flaws, and Jinny had a lot, but besides that she was so cool.”

PART SIXTEEN

“Yeah, well we’re here. Is he supposed to be inside?” CD asked Angela, considering she had taken the call.
“Yes, Annie said he was there.”
“Alright.”

As the two inspectors got inside, they saw Annie standing there with Tommy Highs.
“Hi, are you Tommy Highs?” CD looked at him and asked.
“Yeah, what do you want?”
“I’m sure you’ve been notified that Rachel Ricker was murdered.” CD looked at him, waiting to see how he reacted to this.
“Um, yeah, I don’t know anything about it though.” He said very hesitantly.
“Okay, well we just want to ask you some questions about Rachel.” CD told him.

Back at the hospital Kate went to see Magda. She figured she needed to tell her about Jinny; after all she was her partner and friend. Kate had consulted with the doctor about whether to tell Magda or not, he said she could, it shouldn’t effect anything. She may shed tears, and be depressed, but that would probably happen anyway.

In Magda’s room, Kate started to talk first, “Hey Magda.”
“Captain. Where’s Jinny, I figured she’d come to see me, unless she’s busy with work or something.”
“That’s why I came in, Magda I have something to tell you.”
“What is it? Is Jinny okay?”
”Magda Jinny, well, Jinny commit suicide yesterday. It was after you were shot and she was told you probably wouldn’t live, and her dad tried to kill himself yesterday too.”
Magda just looked at Kate like it was some kind of pathetic joke, but she could tell that she was dead serious, “Oh my God, and I know another part of it.”
“What?”
“Her mom commit…”
“Suicide several years ago yesterday when she was fourteen.”
“How’d you know?”
“I had just gotten into the academy when it happened. The news traveled since her dad had been on the force for a while. I just overheard it one day.”
Magda was crying, she never thought that Jinny would do something like this.
“How are Casey, John, CD, and Angela holding up?”
“Well, Casey and John aren’t doing so well, but then again, they lost their sister and almost lost their dad. CD and Angela are okay, there’s something else with CD that I don’t know about, and Angela isn’t doing great, but they’re working right now. I think they’ll be okay; it’ll just take a while for everyone to get through this. That’s why we’ll all have to be there for each other right now.”
Magda was just barely listening. She couldn’t concentrate. The doctor had already told her about her condition, she knew she’d never be on the streets again, and she was worried about Ben. How would she take care of him? She was going to be in a wheelchair. She couldn’t do the stuff she used to do anymore, and without Jinny around to help it would just be harder.
“Hey captain, I know I’m not going to be on the streets again, but I still have my job, right?”
“Of course! You’ll always be able to fill out paperwork.”
“Ha, ha.”

Kate left the room; Magda was crying. “Wait, does Theodore know about Jinny?”
“Who?”
“The ADA, Theodore Blumenthal.”
“Him, why?”
“Jinny was dating him.”
“Oh I’ll have someone call him.”
“Can you send Ben in?” Magda asked her.
“Sure.”

As Ben came in Magda looked into his eyes. She could see that he was worried and sad. She had hoped he hadn’t found out that she wouldn’t be able to walk again. She also hoped he didn’t find out about Jinny. She could tell that he probably did.
“Mommy, you can’t walk anymore can you?”
“No I can’t Ben.” Magda could tell he was scared. She knew that someone probably told him about Jinny, “Ben, did anyone tell you about Jinny?”
“Yes, she died. How though?”
“Well Ben, Jinny made a mistake and she killed herself.”
“Mommy, are you going to be okay?”
“Yes, Ben grandma will help me take care of you more than ever now. CD and Angela will probably help now too.”
Ben started crying, he figured out already that there would be some big changes. Magda tried to tell him it would be okay, but he just wouldn’t listen.

Ben left the room crying, he didn’t know what it would be like with his mom in a wheelchair.

When Magda was alone she lied in her bed staring at the ceiling. She thought back.

***FLASHBACK***
“Ramirez, you’ll be working with Exstead considering Peter’s out sick. This is the homicide of Kayla Fischer. She was 32. The address is 1500 South Street.” Captain told them.

That was the first time Magda had to work with Jinny. “Hi, I’m Magda Ramirez.”
”Jinny Exstead.”
“So you’re brand new,”
“Yeah, I just started three months ago. But I’ve got the hang of it.”
“Great.”

***END FLASHBACK***

“Geez I’ll miss her.” Magda thought to herself. All of a sudden she saw Teddy standing in the doorway.
“Magda,”
“Theodore.”
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah uh no. I can’t walk again. I’m assuming you’ve heard about Jinny.”
“Yes I have. Do you know anything about it?”
“No more than you probably.”

Magda started crying, she couldn’t stand being without Jin, she was her partner and best friend. Teddy just sat there in astonishment.
“Why did Jinny do this?”
“Stress, emotion, I don’t know. Her mom killed herself several years ago yesterday.”
”When she was fourteen.” He said to Magda.
“How’d you know?”
“We got in a fight one day, and she spilled her guts about her family. I felt so bad for her.”
“Yeah, I know. I felt bad for her too. I’m going to miss her.”
“Yeah, so am I.”

Teddy left the room; Magda just broke down. CD came in and saw Magda. She went over to the bed and hugged her. CD knew she probably couldn’t help Magda too much because of what happened. But she could try. Magda just sobbed. She wouldn’t talk or react at all to CD.

“Magda, are you okay?” CD asked her, figuring that she wouldn’t talk, but it was worth a try.
“Does it look like I’m okay?” Magda said to her.
“No. Magda, think about this, at least you’re still alive.”
“Yeah, but I can’t walk. How am I going to take care of Ben? I’ll need so much help. How will I be able to work?”
“Captain’s already agreed to give you desk duty. C’mon paperwork can’t be too bad.”
“What will I do without Jinny?”
”I don’t know, this will mean big changes for all of us.”
“CD I don’t know what I’ll do, she was my best friend and partner. I didn’t even get to say goodbye.”
“Magda, Jinny made some mistakes, and this was one of them. She said in her note that if Magda survived tell her how much she meant to me. Well I don’t know how much you meant to her, but it sounds like a lot.”

Magda just sat in her bed; she didn’t know what to think, what to do, or how to respond. CD looked at her, waiting to see if she’d say anything. She knew that she probably wouldn’t.
“Magda, I’m going to leave you alone now.”
“Yeah sure.”

CD walked out of the room back to the waiting room. Kate could tell that Magda was going have some problems now.
“So would she talk?” Kate looked at CD.
“Not really. I got her to talk a little bit, but when she started talking about Jinny I started to be careful not to push her. After we started talking she just shut down. She was totally non responsive.”
“I guess we can’t blame her though, Jinny was her friend and partner.” Kate looked at CD.
“Yeah well. She was everyone’s friend.”
CD just sat there; it never crossed her mind that Jinny wouldn’t ever be back. It hadn’t crossed anyone’s mind but Magda’s. No one realized that Jinny wouldn’t set foot in the division again. It was just that she’d be gone for a while.

I haven't read any of this fic, but I just copied and pasted it all on WORD so I'm about to go read it. Then I'm gonna come back and let you know what I think of it cause it looks really awesome! I can't wait to read it...

PART NINETEEN

In Magda’s room she was sitting there. She was alive, but couldn’t care for Ben very easily. She wouldn’t have any help from Jinny. She would never see her again. She was the only person in reality here. She was the only one that knew she’d never see Jin again. As she was thinking a Doctor walked into the room.
“Ms. Ramirez.”
“Yes,”
“Well you can get out of here in two to three days. I’m going to warn you that it won’t be as easy to care for yourself now. You’ll need to come in weekly for physical therapy, and you may have seizers every so often because you still have bullet lodged in the center of your brain.”
“Okay.”
“I haven’t seen this happen very often when someone shot in the head has survived. You are very, very luck and should be very happy that you survived this. Some people have a hard time mentally recovering from this type of injury when they survive. But from what I’ve seen with you so far, I don’t think that’ll be an issue.”
“I understand.”

Later that day was one of the first of several seizers that will happen to Magda over the next several years. She was treated and ended up fine.

Mean time CD, Angela, and Captain had gone home for the night. At CD’s house Paul was home.
“First time I’ve seen you home this early in a long time, Paul” CD said looking at him.
“Yeah well same to you. I called you at work all day to tell you I’d be home early. You weren’t there. You didn’t answer your cell phone. Where were you?”
“Paul, Magda is in the hospital. Where do you think I’d be?”
“I don’t know, working so we have enough money to buy food.”
“Paul, listen one of my best friends is in the hospital, another one is dead…” CD just stopped. It finally hit her that Jinny wouldn’t be back. There would be no more jokes, arguments, or lunches with her. “Paul I need to go to sleep, I’m really tired right now.”
“Fine CD. Goodnight.”

When Angela got home the house was empty, there was a message on the answering machine she listened to it and it was Daniel. He wasn’t going to be home until late that night. Angela had nothing to do so she made some dinner and went to bed.

Kate went inside to find Amanda watching TV. Well that was expected…considering while she’s recovering Amanda was staying at her house.
“Hey Mom.”

“Sort of.”

I know really bad ending but I didn’t know how to end it. So I mad it short and sweet.

Oh and if you want to know the title to this I guess it should be “A Tragic Time”.

Oh and I typed this in WORD and it's a total of 26 pages long!!!
