Did he ever use Bixby? :) And did he ever use the same last name twice in the series?? And I wonder why he always used "David" as the first name anyway since he was changing the last name..

View Full Version : Question about David's "B" last names.. BuddyHinton 08-15-2008, 12:11 AM Did he ever use Bixby? :) And did he ever use the same last name twice in the series?? And I wonder why he always used "David" as the first name anyway since he was changing the last name.. GARFIELDKOOL 08-17-2008, 09:18 PM I guess he always wanted to answer to his real name of "David" He had to fake his death from McGhee, so he had to use a fake last name starting with B to throw him off. I can honestly say he never used the name "Bixby" in the series. catlover79 08-17-2008, 09:47 PM Wasn't the character's real first name Bruce? GARFIELDKOOL 08-17-2008, 10:00 PM Wasn't the character's real first name Bruce? In the animated series it was. catlover79 08-17-2008, 10:01 PM In the animated series it was. OK, thanks for clearing that up. :D BuddyHinton 08-18-2008, 02:17 AM But if he REALLY wanted to throw him off wouldn't it have been better to use any first name other than David? Just sayin... :) tv star collector 08-18-2008, 02:32 PM Wasn't the character's real first name Bruce? In the comic books, his full name is Robert Bruce Banner. On the show, his name was changed to "David Bruce Banner" (as it reads on his tombstone in the pilot). Stan Lee explained the change was due to some network exec (obviously an idiot) who thought the name "Bruce" had homosexual connotations. (If that were the case, why didn't William Dozier change Bruce Wayne's name on Batman?? ) Someone quipped: what is so macho about the name "David"? At least, David kind of goes together nicely with his alter ego's nickname (in the comics), "the green Goliath." Céline 08-19-2008, 10:21 AM I always wondered about that too.He took the name of his wife "Bennet" a few times. Why didn't he use his own name for a change?I guess that he didn't want to confuse the viewers or the guest stars.David Bixby sounds good though :) dawsongirl 12-17-2008, 01:56 AM If he constantly changed his first name as well, he'd probably get too confused as to whom he was supposed to be. BuddyHinton 01-23-2009, 01:56 PM Then again he could just use the same name each time; Lou Bixby:) catlover79 01-23-2009, 03:17 PM Then again he could just use the same name each time; Lou Bixby:) There you go. dawsongirl 01-25-2009, 02:37 AM Then again he could just use the same name each time; Lou Bixby:) The Adventures of The Mysterious LOU BIXBY. MickeyMac 01-25-2009, 04:48 PM It was almost like The Fugitive, wherever he went he used a different name. catlover79 01-25-2009, 10:36 PM  The Adventures of The Mysterious LOU BIXBY.
