I say Winter Olympics all the way. I enjoy the figure skating, skiing and the luge. My sister loves curling. I just don't seem to get into the Summer Olympics.

View Full Version : Summer or Winter Olympics - which do you prefer? catlover79 08-14-2008, 08:51 PM I say Winter Olympics all the way. I enjoy the figure skating, skiing and the luge. My sister loves curling. I just don't seem to get into the Summer Olympics. Mr. Television 08-14-2008, 08:52 PM Neither. lol I've never been a big Olympic watcher. lol Brieannas21 08-14-2008, 08:54 PM I love both, it's the only time you can get me to watch sports on TV for hrs on end and not complain about it. LOL HuntingtonM15 08-14-2008, 09:10 PM Winter by far catlover79 08-14-2008, 09:15 PM I remember in my final semester of college in early 2002 watching Sarah Hughes' incredible performance that got her the gold medal. I don't think I've ever seen a finer ice skating performance. dawsongirl 08-14-2008, 09:25 PM Summer. I'm not too into winter sports. One can only watch so much skiing and the like before it all starts to look alike. catlover79 08-14-2008, 09:31 PM ^ That's funny, that's the way I feel about the summer sports! Tweety 08-14-2008, 10:23 PM I'd say summer. I can really only watch the figure skating in the winter olympics...well, I can watch the hockey too, I guess. Summer games, I like basketball (which really should be a winter sport), gymnastics, swimming & diving, volleyball, boxing, track & field... most of the major summer stuff, I've played myself... but I've never gone skiing or ice skating, even though i grew up in New Jersey (not that NJ has a lot of skiing, I just mean that i grew up in a place that actually has winters... My senior class trip in high school was to a ski resort in Vermont, so I didn't even bother going. I live in Florida now, not much in the way of winter sports down here)... I think I just relate to the summer olympic sports a lot better than the winter games. But both the summer and winter Olympic games have plenty of so-called "sports" that I can do without. .:BF:. 08-14-2008, 10:50 PM Summer, but the only thing I watch is basketball. sara 08-14-2008, 11:44 PM The Summer Olympics, but I love to watch both. DLevine2 08-15-2008, 03:40 PM I would say Summer Olympics. Because I enjoy watching the swimming, beach volleyball, and the track and field. But I enjoy watching the Winter Olympics too. Brian Damage 08-15-2008, 03:58 PM I like both, but I prefer Summer. PunkyP0WER 08-15-2008, 04:08 PM winter - i like the ice skating Schmoopie 08-15-2008, 04:09 PM I tend to watch the Winter Olympics more, but I guess I like them both equally. I LOVE couples figure skating (Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue), so I will always watch them whenever they are competing), but that's about the only sport I'll watch. As for summer Olympics, I've been watching occasionally; I've seen several swimming events, a basketball game between China and the US, and a couple of rowing events, but so far that's been it. I tend to be more busy in the summer and don't get to watch as much. Andrea mrs.gingerhinkley 08-15-2008, 04:20 PM I like both, but I watch much more of the winter olympics. It's nice to have a fire going and sit down and watch snowboarding, skiing, the luge, and iceskating. As far as summer olympics go, I mainly tune in for gymnastics, swimming, and diving. Zoneboy 08-15-2008, 04:39 PM http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e211/zoneboy/ScreenHunter_01Aug151633.gif  BarneyFife 08-15-2008, 04:43 PM I prefer the Winter Olympics. I love the skiing and bobsledding events. I haven't watched but 15 minutes of the Summer olympics and that was girls volleyball. 70s show watcher 08-15-2008, 07:00 PM winter i just have never enjoyed the summer games no matter how hard i try MrCleveland 08-15-2008, 11:48 PM I'm more into the Summer Olympics. Yooch 08-16-2008, 12:24 AM I like both, but I prefer Summer. Exactly the same with me. I like the summer olympics, because, well, I've always been more of a warm-weather person than a cold weather, or 'snow' person, and warm weather events interest me more, track and field in particular, which to me is the very essence, or epitome of the Olympic tradition. (that is not to denigrate any other olympic events). I personally just find Track and Field the most exciting part, the culmination, if you will, of the Games. Brent88 08-16-2008, 03:13 AM Summer! catlover79 08-16-2008, 10:18 AM http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e211/zoneboy/ScreenHunter_01Aug151633.gif   There you go. As long as Scrappy's not there, it's cool. 80sTrivia 08-16-2008, 07:19 PM I'm crazy about the Summer Olympics... been watching the Beijing games like mad! :) JoPol_wannabe 08-16-2008, 11:51 PM I like both but I would say Winter is just a tad bit better then the Summer Olyimpics The Winter one's are my favorite because I love to watch Figure Skating, Bobsleigh, Skiing, speed skating, Ski jumping, snowboarding and my boyfriend had 2 cousins that were actually on the USA womans Curling team( Cassandra and Jamie Johnson) so I have to watch that. Summer- I enjoy watching Swimming (Michael Phelps), Water Polo, Tennis, rowing/canoeing, Gymnastics, and most of the Track and Field events. Sterling Holobyte 08-17-2008, 06:57 PM I don't have a preference. I like them both. I am really liking that women's beach volleyball though.;) TJ 08-18-2008, 01:52 AM I like the Winter Olympics for hockey mainly. There are just so much fewer events at them. I like the sheer volume and variety of events at the Summer Olympics and the number of countries participating. |
