Getting Through
Series 1, Story 3.

C.D. walks toward a building. She pauses a moment once her hand touches the door. Takes a deep breath and walks inside. "May I help you?" the receptionist asks. "Yeah, I am uh Candace De Lorenzo. I talked to my Lawyer Mr. John Oblack earlier this week. He told me to come in today and pick up some papers he was printing out for me." C.D. says to the woman behind the desk. "Yes, De Lorenzo." the receptionist says as she leans over and looks through her file cabinet. "Here we go." she says pulling out a folder that's labeled " De Lorenzo , Candace". C.D. smiles alittle and reaches over and takes the papers from the woman who is handing them to her. "Thanks." she says as she turns around and exits the building. On her way to work.

**Station**
Magda is sitting on Jinny's desk. "So you and Theodore are pretty serious." Magda comments. A grin comes over Jinny's faces as she nods and says,"Yeah we are. It's actually really different." Magda gives Jinny a look. "In a good way,Mag." Jinny laughs. Magda smiles and puts her hand on Jinny's back. "I'm really happy for ya, Jin." she says as Captain walks out of her office. C.D. walks in. "Hey sorry I'm late had some business to tend to." she says as she walks to her desk. "Well Magda Jinny you have to babysit a witness that testifies Friday." Captain says looking at them. "Gail Cooper?" Magda asks.
Captain nods and looks over toward C.D. and Angela and is about to say something when a woman comes in. Captain glances over, "Hello..Do you need assistance. Or do you have an apointment?" she asks. "I-I'd like to report a crime." The woman says. Jinny glances over at the woman. Captain then looks at C.D. and Angela. They nod and both get up. "Hello, I'm Inspector Candace De Lorenzo but you can call me C.D. and this is my Partner Inspector Angela Reide." C.D. says as Angela scoots a chair over to their desks. Both Inspectors sit back down. So does the woman. "So Ma'am what is the crime you would like to report?" Angela asks taking out a pad of paper and a pen. "My house was ran-sacked earlier this morning." the woman says reluctantly. "What's your name?" C.D. asks. "Faith Goldstein." She reply's. C.D. looks across to Angela writing down the information. "To your knowledge right now. Was anything at all stolen?" C.D. asks. Faith nods, "Yeah some of my jewelry and my Grandfathers antique watch." "Ma'am do you have an estimated value?" Angela asks taking a second from her writing. "Yes, around $52,000" Faith says. Angela and C.D. both look at eachother.

Magda gets up from Jinny's desk and goes to her own. She opens the folder on her desk revealing Gail's phone number on the top paper. "I'm going to call and Check up on Ms. Cooper." Magda says to Jinny as she reaches for the phone. Jin turns her chair around and nods at Magda. "Go for it." Jin reply's turning back toward her desk. Magda dials the number and puts the phone to her ear. Jinny looks back behind her. Mag shrugs with the phone to her ear when Jinny looks at her. She then hangs the phone up. "Let's go check it out." Magda comments. Jinny nods and gets up.

**In Jinny's Car**
Jinny's cell phone rings. She digs her hand into her coat pocket. It isn't there. She then begins to look around for it as she keeps glancing back at the road. Magda leans over and picks the phone up from beside Jinny on the seat. "Right here, Jin." "Riiight." Jinny says with a smile. As she takes the phone from Magda and answers it. "Exstead." a smile grows across her face. "Hi Theodore." Magda looks over at Jinny,laughs alittle and shakes her head. "No I'm not busy tonight, Why?" Jinny says light heartedly. All of a sudden her voice gets more seriously, "Uh, Your parents? Tonight? " Jinny asks tucking her hair behind her ear. The traffic light turns red alittle ahead and Jin starts to slow the car. "Yeah, but uh Teddy I'm not sure that's a good idea." Jinny nods alittle. "Right,but you know" Jinny laughs alittle. "Okay okay,Theodore. What time?" Jinny smiles. "Sure, I get off work at 6:45...Uh-huh Okay see you later." Jinny smiles alittle and hangs up. She puts her phone beside her on the seat again and glances at Magda. Magda looks away from the Window, toward Jinny. "What's Up,Jin? " Jinny watches the light then looks over at Mag again, "I'm uh meeting his-" Jinny gets cut off by her phone ringing again. She reaches down and picks it up again. "Exstead" she answers. After a second she replys, "I love you too." She smiles and hangs up. Magda's eyes widen. "Ooh Really,Jin?" she Smiles. Jinny grins and drives off when the light turns green. She then nods, "Yeah well." "Jinny, I want details. When did this all happen?" Jin laughs, "What happen?" she asks,knowing what Magda means. Magda motions with her hands, "You know." Jinny glances at Magda with a smirk on her face. "About a week ago." Magda looks stunned, "And I'm hearing about it now?" Jinny laughs, "Remembers Jinny Exstead's law of Nature?" Magda nods at Jin and laughs, "Riight well that's great,Jin." she says with a smile. "Thanks,Mag. It was too." Jinny laughs.

C.D. and Angela are talking over the lady who had just left's case. "Well her apartment was ransacked." Angela says. "Yeah,but there's just something not right." C.D. replys. "C.D. how'd you act if your house was ransacked and your belongings taken?" Angela comments. "Nevermind,Forget it." C.D. says rubbing her forehead. It was hard for C.D. to keep her mind on her job when she had the papers in her desk. That once she filled out and dropped them off, She'd be legally seperated from Paul. The next step was for her divorce to be final. Angela interupts C.D. thinking ,"We better run this by Captain. What do you say?" "Yeah uh fine." C.D. says picking up the file, getting up and walking behind Angela to Captain's office. Angela leans in and Knocks on the open door. "May we come in,Captain?" she asks politely. Captain look at them with the phone to her ear, motions for them to come in, and puts up one finger. "We should have anticipated this. Okay,grab some lunch and get back there. She may just be out. " Captain hangs the phone up and looks at Angela and C.D. "What's Up?" C.D. tosses the file onto Captain's desk. "The woman that was just in here, Faith Goldstein. This morning her place was ransacked the burglars when through everything she owned." Angela explained. Captain nods as she is looking through there notes about the case. She looks up and says, "Anything stolen?" Angela about to says something,but C.D. cuts her off, "Fact there was. Some of her jewelry and her Grandfather's Antique watch. That she happens to have insurance on. Estimate value of about $52,000." "Wow, That's a lot of money. Go see her again. Check out her house." Cap says as she closes the files and slides it back towards the two Inspectors. "We're on it, Captain." Angela says grabbing the file off her desk. C.D. remains leaning on the wall about to turn out of the office. "C.D. can I talk to you for a moment?" Captain asks before C.D. could get out of the office. "Sure" C.D. replys. "I'll be right out." she says to Angela. Ang leaves the office. "Thanks" Captain says motioning C.D. to close the door. C.D. closes the door behind her and sits down. "I'm concerned about you, C.D. You haven't been yourself lately. " Kate says. "I just have a lot on my mind. That's all." C.D. replys back. "Well you know if you need to talk-" Cap gets interupted by C.D., "Really I'm fine." "I" the phone rings cutting Kate off yet again. "You may go" Captain says before she answers the phone. C.D. nods and leaves.

**Jinny & Magda**
Jinny and Magda walk into the corner store. "Hey Wong" Jinny says. "Hey Inspectors." Both woman walk to the back of the store to the Refrigerator Section. "Hmm that sounds good." Magda says opening the glass door and grabbing a Roast Beef Sandwich. "Yeah,Grab me one too,Mag." Jinny reply's. "Sure" Magda says handing the other sandwich to Jinny and grabbing another. "Thanks" Jin says walking over to the Fountain Soda Dispenser,grabs one of the bigger sizes of cups,and begins to fill it with soda. Magda comes over and joins her after she had grabbed a bottle of water. Jinny finishes,puts a lid on the soda,and Both Inspectors walk up to the counter to pay.

Long Story. We didn't go to California,yet. So Here is some more!!

**C.D. & Angela**
C.D. parks beside the curb in front of Faith's house. "This the place?" she Asks her partner. Angela double checks the address, "Yeah, 1215 Grove Point." They both look at the address on the house. "Okay,Let's go." C.D. says getting out of the car. Angela does the same and both Inspectors walk up to the door. Angela steps forward and Rings the doorbell. After a moment and no answer. She knocks on the door. "Coming" a voice in the house says from a distance. The woman from earlier opens the door. "Oh uh Hi" the woman says opening the door. "Hello. We'd like to ask you a few more questions." C.D. says. "Sure,Come in." the womans says opening the door for them to come in. The two walk in and look around the front room. Which is remarkably clean for just being ransacked hours before. "Please,Sit down." Faith motions to them as she takes a seat on the paino bench near the couch. C.D. and Angela both walk to the couch and sit. Angela looks down and opens the folder. "How'd you get this place so clean? In so little time." C.D. asks suspiciously. "Oh well the living room wasn't ransacked." Faith says looking around the room then to C.D. "Well, Ms. Goldstein in this statement you said the whole place was ransacked." Angela points out. "Yeah and telling from what I see in front of me. Nothing is out of place." C.D. adds in. "What, I resent this. You come into my house and start insinuating that I wasn't telling the truth. Just look. Come here." Faith says getting up from the bench and walking down the well lit hallway. The two Inspectors get up and follow her. They walk through the hallway past many closed doors to the room at the end of the hall. Both walk in and look around. "Just what do you call this? Nice and tidy?" Faith says defensive. "You know what. I would appreciate it if you both leave right now." The says walking back toward the door bedroom door motioning for them to leave.

Captain is looking through some papers. Her phone rings, "Hello." she says. "Oh hey honey. How are you? I see. Well why don't you come over tonight. We can have dinner and talk if you want..Okay. Uh-huh..See you then. Bye Sweetie." Kate says as she hangs up the phone from talking to her daughter. She trys to go back to work but then sighs and leans back into her chair. Reaches up and takes off her glasses and gently sets them on her desk.

**Mrs Cooper's House**
Magda and Jinny are parked in a Public Park across from Gail's house eating. Waiting for her to come home. Magda takes a sip of her water and looks at her watch, "4:15 and still she isn't home." Jinny sits back in her seat and looks at her open window. "Maybe she is. We could have missed her coming home when we went and got lunch awhile ago." she says. "Yeah I guess." Magda reply's. "Well we better go knock on her door again to make sure." Jinny says starting up the car. "Yeah" Magda says reaching over and grabbing some paper and a pen. "What are you doing?" Jinny says glancing over at Magda. "Writing a note. Telling her to call us once she gets home." Magda says writing it. "Ookay." Jinny says parking in front of Gail's House.

**Station**
Magda and Jinny walk into the station. "Hey Guys." C.D. says looking over at them when they come in. "Hey" Jinny reply's. Captain walks out of her office," She there?" Jinny sits in her chair and shakes her head," No she wasn't. We left a note on her door to give us a call when she got back." Magda sits down at her desk aswell.
Angela walks into the Division and waves a folder alittle in the air. "What's that?" C.D. asks. "Take a look." Angela says getting to C.D.'s desk and drops the folder in front of her. C.D. opens the folder and scans over the first page. "I can't believe this." C.D. says. "Yeah, Is it just luck she happened to buy insurance on her items two days before they mysteriously went missing?" Angela says folding her arms still standing to the side of C.D. "I think not. There's too much that's went wrong on this woman's allegend case." C.D. reply's with a smirk. "Give her a call. Tell her we got a break in the case,and we'd like to talk to her about it." C.D. says. "Sure." Angela says walking to her desk.

**Questioning**
C.D. opens the door to the room and both Faith and Angela walk in. "Would you like some coffee?" Angela asks Faith. "No no thanks." Faith reply's as she sits down. "So what did you find out about my missing merchandise." Faith says looking from Angela to C.D. "Ms. Goldstein too many things aren't adding up. First you just come strolling in here and report the case that your apartment was ransacked and valueables stolen. Second we come to your house to find nothing ranstacked except for your bedroom." C.D. says. "Your story just keeps changing." Angela says standind to the side. Faith reply's, "I- Where's your Captain?" "It doesn't matter where she is. She knows what we got." C.D. reply's. "So you uh said you had a break on the case?" Faith says nervously as she shifts in her seat. "Yeah in a matter of fact we do." Angela says to her. "We checked the insurance on the valueables of yours that were stolen. Is it just a coincidense the insurance was bought two days before they were "stolen". " Angela asks. "My mother had mentioned it would be a wise thing to buy insurance on my things. Since there had been a lot of break ins in the area." Faith says. "Two Days" C.D. emphasizes. "Lucky break for you." Angela reply's. "Yeah tell me about it." C.D. says looking at Angela. "I don't have to take this kind of abuse." Faith says standing up. Right then the door to the room opens, "Yeah,yeah you do. Sit down Ms. Goldstein." Captain says walking in and closing the door behind her. "We found charges on your credit card for a Safe Deposit Box. Coincidently the same day your valueables were stolen." Captain says. "How about that." C.D. says sitting on the side of the table.

I know this Fan-Fiction is pretty boring. lol but it does get more interesting.

**Jinny's Car**
Magda looks over at Jin who is driving quietly. "So it's the big night,huh?" Magda smiles. "What?" Jinny says looking at Magda. "You're finally meeting his parents." she says. "Ooh that" Jinny grins. "Yeah well,Hopefully I make a good impression." Jinny says. "Don't worry,Jin. You're going to be fine. And I want details tomorrow." Magda assures her. "I haven't been this nervous since. I don't remember when." Jinny says pulling up to Magda's building. "Thanks Jinny. You'll do fine. Just be yourself." Mag says unbuckling her seat belt. "That's what I'm afraid of." Jinny says with a laugh. "Bye Mag. Thanks" Jinny says as Magda opens the car door. "No prob Jinny. Have fun" She says with a smile and closes the door.

**Station**
Captain comes out of her office ready to leave. "I'm out of here guys. Have a good night." she says to Angela and C.D. who are the only ones left in the Division as she walks toward the door. "Night Cap" C.D. says looking up from some papers. "Have a nice night Captain." Angela says then looks at her watch. "Oh you know what. I better get home aswell." she says closing a folder and getting up. "You coming?" Angela asks as she puts on her coat. C.D. looks up at her and shakes her head. "No I still have a couple things to finish up." "Oh okay. See you tomorrow." Angela says leaving after Captain. C.D. looks up from her papers again once they leave and looks toward the door. Leans down, opens up her desk drawer taking out the Divorce Papers. She looks at them for a moment,sits them on her desk gets up and puts on her coat. Sighs takes the papers in her hand folds them and puts them in her coat pocket.

**C.D.'s Car**
C.D. is driving home from work. She slows down to a stop once she reaches the traffic light that turned red. Waiting for the light to turn green her eyes drift from the light to the diner across the street. The diner where many years before Paul had proposed to her in. Where they went for their first date. From the corner of her eye she notices the light turn green. She puts her foot on the gas pedal and drives off,heading home. She drives about 500 yards,pulls into a driveway of a local Super Market turns around and leaves it again. Heading back toward the Diner.

**Jinny's House**
Jinny unlocks her apartment door and enters. She tosses her stuff onto the couch, looks around her apartment,and walks down the hall. As Jinny enters her room the phone begins to ring in the living room. She sighs and goes to get the phone. "Hello." she answers. "Hey Jinny." the voice on the other side of the phone says. "Hey Theodore. You know it's really not a good t-" Jinny says but gets interupted. "Jinny, My parents took an earlier flight. So I was wondering if you'd like to go with me to pick them up from the airport." Theodore says. "Yeah sure. What time do they arrive?" Jinny asks. "Around 7:30 tonight." Theodore reply's. Jinny looks down at her watch," Theodore that's in 45 minutes." Jinny says. "Yeah I know. So uh you up for it? Want to come with me?" Theodore says hopeful. "Sure Teddy. I just need to change quickly then I'll be ready." Jinny says. "Okay,Thanks Jinny. I'll be there in 15 minutes." he reply's. "Right, See you when you get here." Jinny says nervously. "I Love You. Bye Jinny." Theodore says. "Love You too. Bye" Jinny hangs up the phone. With her hand still on the telephone she stands there for a second and smiles.

From upstairs Angela hears the front door open and quickly close. She gets up, walks to the window, and looks out. Daniel's car is parked in the driveway. Arms slowly wrap around her waist. "Hey" Angela says softly with a smile as Danial kisses her cheek gently.She turns around and looks at her husband. "Long day?" she asks. "Yeah it started to get quiet so I decided to get off alittle early. Since you said you had something to tell me." Daniel replys. "Yeah, I do." Angela says moving past Daniel to the bed. "Then what is it,Angie?" "Daniel, I'm pregnant." she says as a tear streams down her face. "Are you Sure?" he asks sitting down beside her. Angela shakes her head,"I only took one of those at home ones." "Dan,I'm scared." she adds. "Angie,You'll be fine." he reply's. "No not me. The baby. What if it's a g-" Angela begins to say before Daniel interupts her. "Whatever happens we'll get through it, Together." Daniel says wrapping his arm around her.

**Airport**
Jinny and Theodore walk upto the Enterance of the Airport Terminal. Theodore opens the door for Jinny and she walks through with Theodore behind her. "So uh did your parents know I'm coming?" she asks. "Don't worry ,Jinny. They're going to love you." Theodore says putting his arm around her. "I'm glad your so positive they will because I'm not." Jinny says nervously then looks at her watch. "It's 7:20 right now." Jinny says to Theodore. "Great then they should be here soon." Theodore says looking around as they walk. "Um uh What flight number are they on?" Jinny asks. "Flight 211" Theodore reply's. Jinny looks at one of the screens. "Um,Teddy. Look." she points at the screen. "It's already landed." Jinny says. "Oh it's early. Well they're probably just getting there luggage right now." Theodore says beginning to walk alittle fast. Jinny just nods. Theodore stops walking ,turns to look at Jinny,and puts his hand on her cheek. "Everything is going to be great,Jinny. There is no doubt in my mind about that." He says leaning over and kissing her gently. They break off her kiss and Theodore remains looking at Jinny. Then an elder couple walks up to them. "How's my Baby?" a woman about Jinny's height but alittle chubby says putting out her arms. Theodore looks from Jinny to the woman. "Hi Mom." he says as he turns to his mom and hugs her. The man who is tall and Thin like Theodore stands quietly to the side. Theodore's mom lets go of Theodore . Theodore steps away from his Mother and says, "Mom ,Dad this is my girlfriend, Jinny." he says with a smile looking from his parents to Jinny. His mother looks at Jinny, " We've heard so much about you,dear." the woman says stepping toward Jinny and puts her arms around her and kisses her on the cheek. "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Blumenthal" Jinny says as she gently hugs the woman with a smile. "Oh please Call me,Mom. Mrs. Blumenthal sounds soo uh Professional." The woman says with a laugh. She steps back from Jinny. "Oh how rude of me. This is. "Jeffery " but you can call him Dad. Everyone does." the woman laughs. "Hey Hon." the man walks toward Jinny and gives her a hug. "Hey." Jinny says hugging Theodore's dad back. Theodore looks around with a Smile.

**C.D. in the Diner**
Sitting at a table in the back of the Diner C.D. takes out the papers once again and sits them on the table in front of her. The waitress comes over, "So what'd you like today?" the woman looks at C.D. and takes out her note pad and pen. "Um, Just a coffee. Please." C.D. says forcing a smile. "Okay. I'll be right back." The waitress says turning around. "Oh and if it's not to much of a problem can I borrow a pen?" C.D. asks. "Sure." the Waitress reply's. A short time later the Waitress returns with C.D.'s coffee, "There you go." she reply's. "Thanks." C.D. says in a low voice. The woman rummages around in her pocket, "And here is the pen." she says pulling out a pen and handing it too C.D.. C.D. takes it and says,"Thanks a lot." The waitress nods once and walks off.

**Restaurant**
The Waitress brings their food. "So uh Jinny. We hear you work at the San Francisco Police Department." Theodore's dad says. "Yeah." Jinny says nodding, "I am an Inspector. In the Felony Division." she says picking up her fork. Teddy's parents nod with a smile and begin to eat. After several moments without saying anything Theodore's mom looks at Jinny and Theodore sitting next to one another across the table. A smile beams out across her face as she shakes her head, "You two look so good together." she says with pleasure.

**Diner**
C.D. picks the pen from the table and begins to fill out the papers. A short time later she finishes,and looks at the line for her to sign. She takes another look around the Diner remembering all of the good times spent being married to Paul. Then the pain that he had caused her by cheating comes back to her. She wipes away a tear and signs her name,folds the papers up,and sticks them back in her pocket. C.D. then drops the pen to the table and puts enough money down to pay for her coffee plus a tip. Gets up and walks to the door,opens it,and walks out.
