i call it soda.

I've always call it pop. Though I think Soda sounds better, I still call it pop. :)

What part of the south are you referring to? In NC, Pepsi is more popular than Coke.

I live in Alabama myself, it's mostly people in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and parts of Georgia and Kentucky.

i'm from the south. the only people i've ever heard call it anything other than soda are some relatives from the north.

The youth group leader I had in high school was from St. Louis and he always called it soda. Us Ohio kids always felt the need to tell him, "IT'S POP!!!" :rofl:

When I was in Pittsburgh and Cincinatti I remember it being called pop, as in "would you like your pop in a sack?" (would like your soda in a bag?)

Upstate NY we call it SODA. You call it pop and you'll probs get a smack in the face. Not really though, but definately a strange look.

I'm from NYC and I've always called it soda, but here in WV 90% of the people call it pop or soda pop - I still get funny looks from people when I say soda lol

I wondered that same thing about that one county in Iowa. Looks like it may be Iowa City, so I suppose there may be some out of state people at U of I...but there can't be that many.

I think it depends on the part of the country you live in. I'm from Ohio and we call it pop here. But when I lived in California(Sacramento) it was called Soda, and when I called it pop, people there had NO idea what the eff I was talking about.

Here in Michigan we call it Pop. To me soda means baking soda.:D

Way back when people called it soda pop. So it has broken down into two terms. Depending where in the US you are from.

How about soda pop? Which I've heard every now and then. But not sure what part of the country call it this (as opposed to soda or just pop)
