View Full Version : William Frawley and Elizabeth Patterson, both in movie, pre Lucy
Jude The Obscure 06-02-2008, 05:50 PM The Deanna Durbin flick, "Lady on a Train", circa 1945. It's a murder mystery. Bill has a small part as a police officer while Liz has a more sizeable role as the sister of the murder victim. It was a fun movie to watch.
Haunted_Armoire 06-02-2008, 10:46 PM It appears we can watch it on youtube as I found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9vrt4NaAAQ YAY!!!!
Haunted_Armoire 06-03-2008, 05:56 PM Edward Everett Horton is in this movie too. Bill comes in at 5:48 in Part One. He plays a cop. I'll look for Liz next.
Jude The Obscure 06-04-2008, 05:57 PM Let me know your thoughts! I had no idea that movie was up on YouTube. I wonder if Universal knows
Tropicana 06-04-2008, 06:19 PM I also noticed that Allen Jenkins (who played a cop in 3 I Love Lucy's: Too Many Crooks, Ricky and Fred are TV fans, & New Neighbors) was also in this movie - he played the chauffeur.

What is?
Chocolate Moose 06-06-2008, 06:11 PM IT'S funny when you see an actor or actress that you associate with a certain role, in another one, either a lot older or younger.
haunted, can you tell me the story behind your screen name ? I'm fascinated !!!!!

I love antique furniture. My 80-year armoire has a door that opens very often on its own and makes a creeking sound. When people stay in my guest room it scares the ***** out of them. That's not my armoire in my avatar btw.

I didn't know about this movie before. It seems like it would be a good film to watch. I'll have to see if I can get it at my local library.
Jude The Obscure 06-07-2008, 05:45 PM Well, it is available through Netflix, if the other options don't pan out.
Part of the Deanna Durbin collection--although not every movie of hers is out on DVD (or Netflix doesn't carry them all).

Thanks for the good idea. I'll certainly go that route if my local library doesn't have it.
