Ive noticed the past few years Redd Foxx is often recognized by other comedians.

Dave Chapelle on an episode of his Comedy Central program was wearing a t-shirt with a big picture of Redd, one of the Wayan brothers was doing an imatation of Fred Sanford on a recent sitcom and I heard Eddie Murphy liked Redd too (Redd appeared in one of Eddie Murphy's movies).

It must be nice to be appreciated by your peers.

Harlem Nights is that movie you are talking about. (which also starred Richard Pryor) Eddie for one gave reference to Sanford and Son in his stand up, "Delirious" Actually someone in the audience said ripple when Eddie asked about a popular drink in the hood or something. Eddie said, "Ripple?" You must have been watching Sanford and Son. LOL

Redd Foxx was one of a kind, that's for sure. I loved him on Sanford & Son, but there was so much more to the man. His early standup and albums were classic. He's a legend.

You know for a fact he would have appeared on Martin if he hadn;t died like Grady and Esther did. That would have been nice to see.

I'm not surprised. Redd Foxx broke a lot of ground in entertainment - and he was hilarious!!! It's humor like his (and S&S) that is timeless. :cool:

There were so few left when Redd died. NOw that George Carlin has died who is left? :(
