Brian, I hope you can sticky this post. I think we need a brainstorming session! Here's my idea;

- We each send a map into FOX of Pittsburgh and highlight the Monongahela river (in the idea that Montana could never pronounce it). With this, someone here with HTML experience can start a site to save the show which includes info on the Monongahela river and links to where to buy the maps online!

We can send unsharpend pencils!!!
or, they used to have a "Anchorize Yourself" page. Everyone can paste their own pictures there, print it out and send it to FOX and 20th Century Fox or CBS because Les Moonves has been sent 5 episodes for review

Currently, we have 100 signatures. I totally think this is great, considering that it was the weekend and today was Mother's Day. If we can get over 200 by tomorrow, that will be even better. I'll continue to get people to sign, but for the most part, people are finding that petition on their own, which is great.

I absolutely love this idea. Think - they had to make budget cuts in the newsroom by getting rid of water. Now FOX is making budget costs by getting rid of Back to You! All we have do is send packages of bottle watter to FOX, and we have ourselves a great ad campaign!

Thankyou for continuing to support this show even after it's been cancelled. I'm just really trying to get this show what it deserves. Well, should we send it to FOX or CBS? I don't have the money to be sending bottled water to both-LOL. FOX seems dead on the idea of renewing it, so CBS would probably be our best bet.

Considering the fact that we want to make an impact, I'm sending at least 5 packs of bottled water. I think a pack (doesn't have to be in bulk or anything-LOL) would do better than just 1 bottle, but whatever you can send is great. We'll have to see what happens tomorrow I think. Let's just hope we can rally up as many people as we can to send the water. We should really make like our own little site for this.

Me too, but the goal is to persuade as many people as we can and maybe those pencils can be a cheaper and more viable option...if we're still in time to make changes though..

Check this out, LA fans built a memorial in front of FOX but FOX took it down.

Below is a photo of an unscheduled upfront week event: early this morning, because the sitcom Back to You had been cancelled, upset fans made a "memorial" in front of the gates at Fox studios. There were candles, balloons, floral bouquets, over 30 sympathy cards, neckties in honor of Chuck, and American flags. I'm told that Fox brass, fearful of being embarrassed, had security remove the "memorial." But everyone connected to the show, especially showrunner Steve Levitan, knew about it and appreciated it.

When I was at the post office, the guy who was weighing my package asked me why I was sending water to CBS. I told him what we were doing, and he was like "Oh, Back to You, that's a great show." That put a smile on my face :D

That's a great article, Irene, and very true. This sitcom definitely takes me back to classic sitcoms of they day. Sure, CBS has sitcoms similar to it, but this sitcom is different - it just reminds me of sitting down 20 years to watch TV everytime I watch it.

Over the FOX Back to You message board, they've been deleting messages left and right. They deleted my entire thread about our campaign (it had about 9 posts at the time it was deleted) and have been deleting other posts about it here and there. So, my guess is they definitely know about what we're doing.

As for the petition, we're just about at 300 signatures. We are well on our way to 1000 :)

Given time this show might be as good as The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Murphy Brown. It was already starting to gell. Who knows how great it could be if given the chance.

Those shows were huge hits right from the start, though-LOL. Not a problem, BTY has the full potential to run 5 or 6 seasons right now, if not more. Too bad no one seems to want to give the show that chance.

And you know what's bad about this too? The fact that people (and I've heard a few say this) are afraid to get into new shows like BTY for fear they will be cancelled and they'll be really upset. Sad, isn't it? And without more viewership, that's what ultimately happens. It's a vicious circle.

Another good idea I found was that you can also mail your empty water bottles to the same address. I'm sure it's a lot cheaper than buying packs of water and mailing them - it would also lower the weight and the shipping charges.

We shouldn't give up after Wednesday. The show will most likely not be on their fall schedule come Wednesday, but that doesn't mean they're still not interested. We should definitely keep our petition and campaign until at least early next week.

I like his suggestion that we should send empty bottles to FOX for cancelling the show and filled water to CBS to persuade them to pick it up. Perhaps we should have thought of that since the beginning but FOX caught us off guard we had very little time to organize. Anyways, I think we've done pretty good so far! If you haven't sent the bottles to CBS make sure to include a note that explains why we're sending them water. Pavan is right, although our campaign is catching steam not everyone may know what is going on!

A couple of years ago when CBS was threatening to cancel The King of Queens without giving it a chance to have a series finale, I started a petition. I called CBS and asked who to send it to. They said a guy named Ray Faiola handles petitions. He's like, head of programming or something like that...

So, I printed out the petition, mailed it to him, and KoQ was renewed!!
I'm not saying it was ONLY because of the petition, but it couldn't have hurt. :) The cast and crew ended up knowing about it, (some of them even signed the petition!) and when I went to a taping the next season, I met a lot of people who worked on the show. I was with a friend, and we were once introduced as "the people who saved our show!" :lol: I don't know if I believe that, but it was cool. :cool:

I know someone who worked on KoQ, that now works on BTY, so I let her know about this! ;)

My point is, AMAZING things can happen, so lets keep campaigning!!

First and foremost, send the petition to Ray!! Maybe he can help get our show back on the air!!

We can buy a domain name and hosting and start an official site instead of using freewebs. IDK, lol...just an idea...that way whoever were to do it would have full control...no ads, more traffic, traffic statistics, etc.

Has anyone checked the petition lately? We're now up to an astonishing 1351 signatures! Where the hell do these people keep coming from? Are they even legit-LOL.

Also, I thought I'd post an update about the site. It is working fine now - it must have been heavy traffic that was giving us problems earlier. We've had 280 total visitors at the moment (6 are online now as a matter of fact), which I think is great. I hope people are reading and sending water and signing the petition, because everyting helps!

People really like this show. i have e-mailed fan sites and friends about the petition. Everyone I know was sad to hear that the show was cancelled. So, I am not surprised by the number of signatures.

Are you certain? Just because the show isn't on the CBS fall lineup doesn't mean they're not still considering it. We could still get a pickup somewhere on the schedule, maybe for midseason.

And even if they did decide to pass, we should continue anyway to show our support for the show, and maybe to change CBS's mind.

I wasn't expecting to see BTY on the fall schedule anyway. This was such short notice that the poducers need to talk extensively with CBS. That may take some time. I just hope Brian assumed it and didn't read it somewhere though :(

I honestly think they haven't made a decision yet because they want to see how ratings are for the final FOX episode tonight, just another reason why EVERYBODY should be watching tonight.

Yea I really didn't think it would make the fall schedule either. Fox cancelled it at the last minute so the producers had no time to go to other networks. CBS already had a lot of their fall shows set. But it doesn't mean it couldn't come off the bench. Until the actor's contracts expire, their is always hope.

They are aware of all the work that you have been doing and are not ready to give up on the show yet. Let's all keep working. The response has been overwhelming and has not fallen on deaf ears.
