View Full Version : Images that scare you as an adult?
Janice Johnson 04-14-2008, 04:55 PM I know there is a thread called,"Images that scared you as a child," but I'd like to start a thread about images that scare you now, as adults. I have an image that scared(s) me. In the George Lopez show, George sometimes has flashbacks as himself as a little kid. The camera shows George Lopez's adult head and face on a little kid's body. That scares me! (or at least, it weirds and creepsme out).
Janice 04-14-2008, 05:19 PM I hate skeletons, even the silly Halloween kind. I don't like what they make me think about.
puertaazul 04-14-2008, 05:49 PM I think clowns are scarier to me now than when I was a kid...
coffield3 04-14-2008, 06:02 PM Yeah, i'd say the clown from the horror movie IT, come to think of it I'm scared of Tim Curry without the makeup
*ClassicPinUp* 04-14-2008, 06:46 PM I have to go with clowns as well. I've never found them funny or cute...just scary with their painted faces.
Oh and any image of people from the 1800's-early 1900's especially the women in those big dresses etc. For some reason those have always given me chills. Those people always look so miserable and the pictures of them and their unhappy faces are haunting to me.

BarneyFife 04-14-2008, 09:20 PM I agree. The gas prices are enough to scare anyone who drives a car.
Janice 04-14-2008, 09:34 PM I'm the biggest dog lover going, but big dogs that I don't know, just terrify me. I actually get frozen with fear around a big stranger of a dog.
Fleet 04-14-2008, 09:54 PM The dentist's office.
Number 9 Dream 04-15-2008, 11:28 AM Me too! :(
I am afraid of wind mills. I don't know where the fear stems from, but the tall, skinny ones make me shiver. I remember taking an Environmental Problems course when I was in community college a few years ago and the professor showed us a picture of a wind mill farm. I broke out into a sweat and couldn't even look at the picture any more.
Weird, I know!

That actually cracks me up when I see that on George Lopez. He is always making fun of how large his head is so that is why he incorporates jokes related to the size of his head.

JoPol_wannabe 05-22-2008, 04:46 PM I am very fortunate to work in a Nursing home facility where the staff members are very nice and take very good care of the residents. But I have heard of some nursing homes where the staff doesn't care how well they take care of the patients there just there because it's a job and the patients end up getting abused or neglected. I guess the images of that scare me.
Just to warn you these pictures on this site are pretty graphic

I've heard horrible stories from people who've had no other choice but to place their loved ones in nursing homes. Makes me angry and sick to my stomach.
I think they're forgetting that one day they to will be elderly and may end up being treated the same horrible way as they treated these people.
Janice Johnson 06-02-2008, 02:36 PM Hey, Hey, Hey! What is up with all of the "serious" posts on this thread? *Looks around shocked* I started this thread to be a fun thread, not a depressing and solemn thread!*Janice Johnson Kicks self as she realizes she never mentioned her intentions.* What are funny images that scare you as an adult(Such as Freddy Krueger's body, that looks like the inside of people's bodies(the muscle tissues, especially).
PunkyP0WER 06-02-2008, 02:45 PM clowns, spiders, gas station bathrooms, skeletons like the silly halloween ones mentioned, and police sketches of suspects. me too on the antique photos of people from earlier eras. they always loook so stern and foreboding. i get creeped out looking at them.
