Matthew McConaughey is the favorite to revive the Magnum P.I. franchise on the big screen. The movie hunk is reportedly in negotiations to take over the island detective role from Tom Selleck, who played Magnum on TV.

Entertainment Weekly magazine reports McConaughey is currently reading the script.

I never really watched the show when it was on, so why on earth would I watch the remake?

I'm just saying it's very humid in Hawaii, and we don't want Matt to stick to anything.

I was just watching an episode of Magnum yesterday. Tom Selleck was punched out by none other than Gregory Sierra (:eyes:) - and ended up being the best man at his wedding. Magnum and Higgins helped put the whole thing together. :lol: Matt can't even come close to the coolness that isTom Selleck - Tom IS Magnum! So there. :lol:

Matthew McConaughey is all about shaving his chest. Magnum was a man with a wooly bear chest.. a mans man. Not this Sissy McConaughey. And I dont' think he can pull off the stash like Selleck. And if he doesn't have one, then he's not Magnum.
The sad thing is, when I think of an alternative. I can't.
Hollywood isnt' about being manly anymore, all the stars that are masculine are just toto old now :(
I wouldn't make this movie.
Now that I think about it, Higgins could grow a better stashe then McConaugey.
