I'm not sure how to answer this because I do like the show, but while I'm watching more times then not, I wonder why I like it! LOL! This may sound strange, but I've always liked the house, especially the livingroom.

When I was little I liked it because you saw other kids playing.
I watch it now for the memories, I always thought the grass was real in the back yard until recently. :bonk:

I think it was a little bit of both. And I can relate to it in some way because I grew up with alot of sisters and brothers, and some of the situations also happend to us as kids. I loved the Brady Bunch growing up because it was funny and still is to me. I really can't believe it didn't do all the great in the ratings. But it has to be something funny about it, other wise todays kids wouldn't be watching it. The Brady Bunch will always stand the test of time in my opinion. Plus, I was In love with Cindy as a kid, she was just so cute with them blue eyes.

I honestly can't explain why I love The Brady Bunch....it's just got this magical hold on me...on American pop culture to be exact...I think we're all fascinated by the pefect lives of the Brady's....yes the episodes and conflicts may be unbelievable, but isn't that why we watch TV? To step into someone else's world, someone else's reality?
I think The Brady Bunch will always be relevant, no matter what decade it is. It's just one of those shows...

I have to say yes to both. Watching this show is like comfort food.

Neither, and this takes me back in time, but just two words:

Jan Brady (I guess that says it all)

I have assumed TBB has always been a popular daily or syndicated show (more than in its original primetime run) because it is so full of gimmicks and the styles of the early 70's, which did turn out to be shorter-lived than was thought at the time. It takes the 'perfect family' [like Father Knows Best or Leave it to Beaver], makes it into a blended family unusually 'symmetrical' [dark-haired dad w/ 3 dark-haired boys; blond mom w/ 3 blond-haired girls], adds a wisecracking housekeeper [a nicer version of Hazel], then what do you get?... boy-girl feuds, school problems, jealousy, space battles, conspiracies to hide something, revenge...... all with long hair, bell-bottoms, and words like "groovy" and "out of sight." It just wouldn't have been done as it was and as we can see it other than in that window of time... as "far out" as its contemporary in history, the moon landings.

about the show I like the opening credits and theme tune, the Brady font, the cast and characters. I love the house and all the incidental music but most of all I think I would like to be a Brady and grow up in that family. Not that my own family is bad but the Brady one is a nice ideal.

Both those reasons, plus nostalgia.

A little from column A and a little from column B. :D

To me, it also has that "I wish my family were like that" factor.

I was a big Monkees fan so when I saw the Davy Jones episode I was hooked.

I find The Brady Bunch to be a genuinely funny show in its intended humor, and I also enjoy all of the unintentionally funny quirks, in-jokes, and things that fans tend to notice after watching the show for years. That's what makes The Brady Bunch so special; the writing and acting make it genuinely funny, and the show offers so many unintentional treats that keep fans constantly digging into episodes to see what they can uncover. I certainly understand why people might find The Brady Bunch to be hokey, but I really do think it's a funny show. The Brady Bunch's humor is so good-natured!

I liked the show because it mirrored my own life in many ways. I grew up in a suburban split level home in the 1970s, with a station wagon in the driveway, just like the Bradys. We also had six kids in our family, which were a set of three (me and two brothers) to which we added another set of three (sister and two brothers) at almost exactly the same ages the Brady kids were when their fictional family was formed - i.e. we all ranged from 6-11 years old.

The Brady Bunch was a glamorized version of my own family complete with the "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia" rivalry between me and my new sister. We did the family camping trips, including my sister falling in the water like Cindy did. We took road trips out west in our station wagon, singing in the car, just like the Bradys trip to the Grand Canyon.

Watching the show today is like watching my scenes from my own childhood - that is why I still love it!

My family was similar. 3 girls and 3 boys. Girls came first. We were not blended though. Good memories.

I guess because it was about kids and I was a kid when it first came out. I am older than Cindy, but younger than Jan.

OH Nuts!

It's a bit of both, but I'd say for me more Hokier.

When I was little, I think I thought it was funny, but even more, as others have said, it was about kids (roughly) my age. It was sweet, and had a small town feel even though it was set in the suburbs. I grew up in a small town, so it hit all the markers of that experience; cheerleader tryouts, the "big game", working at a corner malt shop, jealousies, rivalries, sleepovers, etc.

Now I probably don't actually laugh at it as much, but yeah, it takes me back to when I was a 6 to 10 year old boy, my parents and brother were both still with me, and life was sweet. The show is hokey, sure, but it's got a great big heart and sometimes that's enough.

I like that it's wholesome, appropriate for all ages, and teaches good messages.
