Does anyone know if this guy was ever caught? This was the killer who enter a strip mall around dusk and would shoot clerks for no reason.

He claimed 6 or 7 victims and there was never any update.

Shockingly, he let one witness go who went into a tuxedo shop to pick up a cumberbun.

yeah I remember this one. Wasn't he the guy that killed a cop? unless I'm getting it mixed up. If I remember correctly they said the guy was reported seen in Arlington Texas at the end of the segment. That's why I definitely remember this one. I haven't heard anything though.

Nope, he never killed a cop. He just randomly showed up at small strip malls acorss Interstate 70 in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and he used an assault rifle to kill his victims. He claimed 7 victims and at the end of the segment it was said he struck again in Arlington, TX and the same gun used in the other 7 were used in this one.

I think "shockingly" sounds too strong of a word to describe such a situation. A word like " miraculously" would fit better. But I recall Robert Stack saying that the killer "inexplicably" let the man go.

Why did the killer allow the man to leave? We will probably never know. But man escaped alive and well, and that's what really mattered.

In recent years, there have been claims over the internet that a Minnesota inmate named Donald Blom may be the I-70 killer. I don't know if he has ever officially been a suspect in the I-70 murders, but he is currently in a Minnesota prison for the 1999 abduction and murder of a teenage girl.
