The Disappearance of the REMOTE CONTROL?? You get all comfortable in Bed and go to grab the remote to change the channel and can't locate it and have to get up and get out of your comfortable spot and shake the blankets or sheets and sometimes stand up-lol It's like the remote has a mind of it's own in the bed.

Can anyone relate to this?

Is that the remote control in your PJs, or are you just happy to SEE me?

But seriously folks, the BIG question is.......WHY do they make those things BLACK????

I hate it. I am living proof of the joke that someone will get up and search the entire room for the remote because I refuse to change it manually.

I have one of those boxes to put on my nightstand. Ask me how often the remote is in there when I am looking for it?

:brent Oh man, that's me too. Me and your mom have another thing in common. I get all mad trying to find that damn remote. I get up, turn on the light and start shaking the blankets, the comforter and end up finding the remote in some weird spot on the bed.

Well, i put mine where it would be perfectly at hand when I'm either lying in bed, OR in my big bedside EZ chair :D

yes! i hate it too. usually it gets lost somewhere under the covers, after i'm all nice & comfortable. or i'll accidentally drop it and it'll go under the bed. you would think with the buttons being glow in the dark it would help a little. lol.

Actually I have a white remote that goes with my white tv and I still lose that one all the time and I even have one of those boxes I made and sometiems I'm just to lazy to put it in there and I end up losing it, go figure. What I really hate is when I fall asleep with my tv on and I wake up in the middle of the night and see the tv still on and can't find the remote I just had lying next to me so then I have to get up and sake all the covers to see where on my bed the remote is. That is really annoying.

 That's a good one, and yes Solomon, losing the remote in bed is a biotch. My husband gets real grouchy when I ask him to wake up so I can conduct a full-scale search. I mean, this is important to me. Switching between Nick and TVLand, come on, we all know how urgent that can be. :)

I try to leave the remote on the nightstand, but I usually fall asleep with it in my hand, and it sometimes falls to the floor, causing cats to fly throught the air, the hubby to have a near coronary. It's real fun when the batteries fall out, and the remote cracks and has to be taped. What a pretty picture I just painted.

We all feel your pain, Janice  (You should see the den remote thats in front of me now, held together with electrical tape, tied in a knot...i ran out of the huge rubber bands (taken off celery stalks), that i usually use!)

my VCR remote is in horrible shape because I've dropped it too many times, it's all taped up in the middle and most of the buttons are worn off.

 I don't know whose story is more pathetic, mine or yours. You keep wrapping that sucker up, you'll cover all the buttons, lol.

Way off topic, but I just thought of a couple of funny stories. My husband used to wear glasses, before contacts, then had his vision corrected with that laser thing, or whatever it's called. He told me that years ago, he was painting his porch, and he couldn't find his glasses. Turns out they were inside the paint can

Another time, he told me he backed out of the driveway and ran over his eyeglasses, lol. He always had a pair of glasses at home taped up. I'm glad those days are over, lol.

 I know the feeling. My keyboard is getting like that. I love the way it works. It's not noisy, and has features that I like. I recently bought a new computer, tried that keyboard, hated it, and I'm back to old faithful. Only thing is, some of the letters are fading. It's white lettering on black, and there's no S, V, half a C, half an A, etc. I'm a good typist, but still, I want my letters.

I have a remote for my portable, as well. It has buttons that aren't on the DVD player itself - zoom, etc etc.

I hate it when I lose the remote. I'm notorious (because I have ADHD, I always have to be doing something with my hands) for flipping the remote and it dropping on the floor. All the numbers are worn off on it (thank goodness the numbers are in order because otherwise I'd be screwed.) I have hardwood floors and they're all scuffed up from where the remote landed and skidded and flipped.
I also hate when I fall asleep (and I toss and turn in my sleep) the remote drops and wakes up the whole house, like somebody else mentioned. That's why I started putting it in one of my house shoes. I begged my mom to duct tape it to my hands, but she wouldn't do it. lol.
