Pretty sure it is the Romanov's daughters. I think she has mentioned before that the Anna Anderson/Anastasia controversy is one of her favorite cases.

Really? Wow I was right. I'm VERY intrigued by the Romanovs. And the controversy about whether or not Anna Anderson was Anastasia.

Yes, it is the Romanov girls. I haven't found a message board yet, but I did find this incredible website that completely refutes Anna Anderson's claim. I was once a supporter, but no longer. I emailed the host but never heard back from her. Nonetheless, it's a great site and an intriging case.

I have heard somewhere that Anna Anderson couldn't speak a lick of Russian. Any truth to this?

Since this is the unofficial "Kamy thread" I figured I would use it to say that I want to make a public apology to Kamy. In the past, I have said some very nasty things to her without cause, and it was totally inappropriate on my part. I feel bad for saying these things to Kamy. She is an intelligent and valued poster here and I enjoy reading her posts.

I used to really believe her...I even believed like many supporters that is wasn't her DNA compared to the Romanovs. Many still believe that the DNA used was not safely stored and was contaminated therefore not giving reliable results. I did a lot of research and after finding that site, the facts are indisputable---DNA doesn't match, she couldn't speak any russian (correct Justin), and her resemblance to the missing Polish woman, Franziska Schanzkowska is undeniable, and DNA proved to match Franziska's distant nephew.

Sadly, the allure of this case is almost gone, I almost wish it was never "solved". It's so much more fun to wonder....

Yes, Gleb Botkin, a childhood friend of Anastasia's (his father was the family physician) believed whole-heartedly in Anna. Supposedly they could share many memories and she knew stuff only Anastasia would. But one could argue that if she was convincing enough, her and Gleb could have been in cahoots to get some of the Romanovs' money. Also, Anastasia's childhood nanny claimed that Anna had many of the scars and such that Anastasia had, proving she was who she said she was.

It was said on the UM segment and in others, that her aunt (I think, if memory serves me right) believed it was indeed Anastasia until Anna spilled the beans on a secret bank account that her father, the Czar had. Suppposedly the aunt and the family did not know of this bank account, and didn't want to share the new found wealth with Anna/Anastasia, so they then claimed it wasn't Anastasia.
