So, I have been renting L&S through Netflix. It is fun to stroll down memory lane watching these old shows again. L&S was a very funny show!

One thing I was wondering. In the early seasons, you always hear "Laverne & Shirley is filmed before a studio audience". Yet, it is peppered with so many of the traditional "canned laughter" guffaws. So what gives? Live audience or not?

They may have interjected some "canned" laughter. Just like I Love Lucy was filmed before a studio audience but every now and then you could hear the same lady somewhere saying, "uh oh" then giggle.
