Tonight it happened to me again, and it looks like it's the bank's fault. I bought a DVD for $42.79 and when I got home to check my account, i was charged $42.79 TWICE like I was when I paid $9.50 at the Movies.

So I just took everything back to the store because I won't be able to find out about the extra $42.79 charged to my account until Tuesday and I just didn't have the energy to open up the DVD and enjoy them.

You see, I told you Solomon. I told you to check with the bank. I guess now you will make sure to follow up on this on TUESDAY, Monday is a holiday.

Go back to that other thread. I told you to check with your bank. There was no way the theater would have charged you twice since they already had given you a receipt showing you paid ONCE. If you had talked to the bank in the first place, you wouldn't be here now posting this. I'd be upset if my bank pulled that on me.

i use a debit card and i can't rely on it. my money has been randomly disappearing and reappearing on its own ever since i opened this borderline worthless account, before it was even possible that i could have had my identity stolen.

Could be and maybe you should consider changing banks. :)

I went to the bank today and I was told that one of the $42.79 will fall off by tuesday on top of getting the refund for the DVD I returned.

My new Rule-"No more purchases off my Debit card when the price is over $20.00. I will just use my credit card and just send that money to the credit card company when I get home

Forget that! Use cash.

My fiance used that bank while he lived in California, and he loved it. I want to use Washington Mutual too but there are none in this location.

Be careful with that credit card Solomon. They are nothing but trouble. May not seem like it at first, but you'll be amazed at what interest does to you. Lets just say, you'll wish you were dead.

I'm starting to feel that now. Can't wait until my rent is cheaper again. I won't save anything for a while. It'll all go to paying off the bills I've racked up. *sigh*

Cash is easier too but I don't like using the ATM machine after what happened to me last year, trying to withdrawl $140 and it never came out, only the receipt. So in order to use cash I would have to go to the bank and make a withdrawl and most of the time I'm not in the mood to do that

I'm talking about charging something on my card and when I get home I will send the money that I was going to use to my credit card company. That will prevent me from going through double transaction mess again

I'm not in the mood to pay off my skyrocketing credit card bill, either. But if I had used cash then, I wouldn't have to do that now.

Banks do make mistakes so always always always check statements & balances right away. That's why I HATE debit cards and never use one. I use a cash back credit card for practically everything. This way I don't have to carry around lots of $ w me and if there's a merchant problem, the credit card company takes care of it. If it's the credit card that made a mistake on your account, they're required by law to research and resolve it quickly.

If you pay your balance in full every month and pay right after your closing date, credit cards are the way to go, IMHO.

That's what I will be doing now. Debit Cards will only be used for when I need cash back out of Rite Aid, no more purchases with it in stores

Funny how banks always "mistakenly" take out MORE money than the item you purchased instead of LESS.

That's what I thought originally but nope. I since Aoril of 06 I have made all my payments on time and glad AE took a chance on me because my past history with CC was when I was in college and I maxed them all out. So I feel so fortunate to be given another chance to have a CC, especially one with NO LIMIT-lol
