TVFactFan 02-04-2008, 12:35 PM credit or debit card, MY ADVICE IS TO USE CASH. I just realized after analyzing my account balance that the stupid girl charged me for TWO Tickets at $9.50 instead of one. So i have a additional $9.50 out of my account because of another SLIMY or STUPID CASHIER
why am I having so much bad luck with cashiers in 2008??
Zoneboy 02-04-2008, 01:21 PM Contact the Management of the theater about it, They'll probably reimburse you and give you a free ticket for your troubles. Also, I understand how you feel but calling the girl stupid was uncalled for. There could've been any number of reasons that the mistake happened especially when having to deal with the public in a job like that.
tanquant 02-04-2008, 01:31 PM Where I live it's cash only at the movies. I don't like to use a credit card for that exact same reason. It probably was just an innocent mistake though. take Zoneboy's advice and go and see the manager. You might be surprised about how easy it is to resolve.

anyone who plays a part in extra money being taken out of my checking account needs to be fired. no excuses, is it my fault she wasn't trained properly?
junecleaver 02-04-2008, 01:35 PM Yeah, it seems 50% of cashiers dont know what the heck they are doing. A few weeks ago, i went to the movies, and i had a gift card from christmas with $6.50 left on it. I needed 2 tickets, so i told the cashier i will be paying with my gift card, and the rest i will pay in cash. She got the biggest confused look on her face.

I don't have the receipt anymore so it's prpbably nothing I can do at this point

I noticed a lot of cashiers who have done this to people i know are usually multitasking (text messaging etc) So if you saw her messing with something totally un-work related she does need to be fired.

Max Whittaker 02-04-2008, 02:25 PM You should use cash anyway. Credit is the biggest and most successful booby trap ever invented by mankind.

it was actually my debit card

I've gotten into trouble with a debit card as well. I'd still recommend cash only(for non-emergencies and offline purchases). If you only carry cash there is a set limit and no going over.

yeah for anything under $20.00 for now on I will defintely use cash
Dean Winchester 02-04-2008, 03:25 PM that could explain why and how the Hannah Montana movie grossed nearly $30 million, they were cheating people buying tickets with credit cards

angry dad: wait a minute, I just bought four tickets for my girls, why on earth are you charging me $600?
ticket seller: well sir, you're seeing her in 3D, we're charging how much it'd cost if you were really going to see her in concert

Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 02-04-2008, 03:57 PM I was a cashier for a month back in September and I have to say on cashier's behalf, it's really easy to make a mistake. If you go to the manager, we try to do what we can to fix it, but mistakes do happen. I can't tell you how many I made while I was training.

I'm sorry but I don't want cashiers making mistakes with my bank account. Just can't accept those kind of mistakes
Brieannas21 02-04-2008, 08:33 PM A mistake is a mistake, s*** happens. If you got a receipt back, why didn't you look at it when you got it back while at the movies?

I did look at it but I only had ONE TICKET so I didn't pay it that much attention.

Then maybe the debit/credit machine charged you twice, NOT the cashier.

Well whatever it was It's some skimy sh*t going on with that theater stealing money from customers
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 09:22 PM Wait, your receipt showed you paid for ONE TICKET, but somehow your debit card was later charged for TWO TICKETS?
Also, I have heard how movie theatres "accidently" charge you for a different movie. Just like it was said above, you pay to watch movie "ABC" but your ticket will say "XYZ". Many people don't question it because as long as they paid, what difference does it make what it says on the ticket.

All I saw was $9.50 on the Receipt and saw it twice on my Account. This is why people should check their account on a daily basis

Maybe there was some foul-up regarding the charge. If you got a receipt then the payment was accepted. But no matter, I would bring it to the manager's attention and I will tell you why...IF THIS IS SOME SLIMY CRAP GOING ON, IF YOU BRING IT TO THEIR ATTENTION, THEY WILL KNOW THEY CAN'T DO THAT AGAIN. However, if it is some mistake, the manager will want to know that so they can be sure their cashiers are not either making honest mistakes or to make sure they are not doing something "illegal". How is a manager going to know how to fix a problem if you don't bring it to their attention?
I am not even sure how that double charge can occur.

Me either, I can't see how on his bank statement said that he was charged twice, But his receipt says that he was only charged for one ticket. Hmmmmm
Courtnee 02-04-2008, 10:40 PM Don't be so hard on the cashier, she's only human.

I know. How funny it would be if it was actually the bank who caused this error instead of the theater. I would look into that Solomon.
