1.How did you get interested in studying paralegal? What are some of the challenges/privileges of this career choice?
I wanted a career in law enforcement actually. I came close, but it didn't happen. So the next best thing was to be in law. I went back to college.
The privileges of this career choice is that I can now do this from my home. After injuring my back, it allows me to do this at my convenience. When I worked for a handful of attorneys, the privileges there was always having an attorney on hand for personal matters. ;) Meeting a diverse set of people and also seeing people at their worst, made me realize how lucky and blessed I was. The pay was great too.
2. Would you like to marry your longtime boyfriend? If so, how do you envision the wedding?
We were supposed to have gotten married in Hawaii this past August, but we still have issues that I was not comfortable with, that we needed to work on (and thankfully we are). I don't want a huge wedding. Just a family gathering. I had been married before and to me, the whole big wedding thing is done and over with, as far as I am concerned. I'd rather use that money to go on a great honeymoon trip.
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 06:25 PM THEMUPPETFROMTHEMUTU aka JACK
You seem to get my sense of humor, but we dont necessarily agree with movie opinions, what up with that?
WTF??? That is all you have to ask me? j/k I love your sense of humor. I think our age difference may play a part in our difference of opinion regarding movies. Someday, you will be my age and you will like what I like. ;)
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 06:26 PM TRAPPERANDHAWKEYE'S BABY aka LULU

Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 06:41 PM MIKADO aka MIKEY
No doubt that you go to LA quite a bit, what OTHER big cities have you been to, and which is your favorite?
I have been to San Francisco a few times, I visited Seattle in 2005. I of course have been to Las Vegas. We passed some large cities on our drive to Seattle, including Oregon. My fave large city is San Francisco. I absolutely love the diversity and of course, CHINATOWN! ;)
Do you ever feel as if you're missing out on something by mainly working from home, or does the closeness to your family make it worthwhile?
I miss being out in the actual workforce sometimes. I miss meeting new people and helping out people. Of course being at home gives me the opportunity to be a mom, especially to my little boy. He came along when I was at the most depressed time of my life and ever since then, I have never been bored. I get comments from my friends saying how lucky I am to be able to be home and be a mom. I see all my son's accomplishments and can be there for him. I can volunteer at his school, etc.
What TV show compares closest to your real homelife?
In some ways, Roseanne is someone that I can identify myself with because of how she tells it like it is. Roseanne didn't believe in spanking her kids, that is something I can totally identify with. Although, my son gave me at least two reasons where I had no choice. Also, get this, The Cosby Show!!! Yes, having a father who was loving, hard-working and very relaxed, that was how my dad was. As for my family HERE RIGHT NOW, me and my boyfriend are Doug and Carrie from KING OF QUEENS, hands down. If you want to see how we are at home, just watch that show!
I know you collect Asian art, as i do, what Asian country would be your first choice if you won a free trip to the Orient?
Oh wow, that is a tough question. I have always wondered where I would go. I think it might be Hong Kong. Large city, like San Francisco, is what I like to visit. I would love to visit the water gardens, really any kind of gardens. I love gardens and water, especially together. I'd love to visit the Great Wall of China. OMG, that would be awesome. I would try and chip at the wall and take it with me. I take a rock from every place I visit. Wanna see the large rock I took from the Grand Canyon? Ssshhh, wasn't supposed to, but I did.
What do you enjoy reading , when you want to relax?
Oh I love garden magazines. Especially anything that has to do with landscape makeovers. I also love travel magazines like SUNSET. I like to plan for up-coming vacations or just get ideas for future travel. I also love to read the newspaper.
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 02-04-2008, 06:42 PM I know you never will but if you ever were to change your username, what would you change it to?
Brieannas21 02-04-2008, 08:38 PM If you could own any type of business in the world, what would it be?
What's your idea of a perfect day?
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 09:28 PM FAMILY TIES FOREVER
Is there any pre-salted food or a food you put salt on once that you didn't enjoy? I know you like salt.
Hmmmm, I am trying to understand your question here, is there any food that no matter that I put salt on it, I still didn't like it?
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 09:52 PM JANICE
What is your favorite movie?
Oh my gosh, so many. But the first movie I really ever enjoyed through and through and to this day I can watch over and over again is JAWS. When I got my first VCR, that was the first movie I ever rented. It was also the first movie I bought on VHS. I then bought the collector's edition version of it on VHS. Then, of course, I bought it on DVD. I still watch it on television when it airs. One of my other fave movies is MIDNIGHT EXPRESS. Very exciting movie. Intense and frightening too.
Favorite tv show?
I LOVE LUCY ;)
Favorite episode of your favorite show?
The episode where Lucy dances with Ricky after losing weight. I love the dancing scene very much. It's a toss up though, I also love the episodes that take place in Hollywood.
Favorite character on of your favorite show?
LUCY RICARDO
What's the happiest moment of your life?
Giving birth to each of my children. I suffered from post partum with the birth of my second daughter, but it didn't overshadow the feeling of having another daughter.
What's the saddest moment of your life?
It's a toughie. The death of my mother or the death of my nephew. Although each death was unexpected, I was 6 years old when my mother died after a fall. I was too young to comprehend the loss, though I knew she wasn't coming back. It didn't hit me until I was about 9 years old. My nephew's death was horrible for me. I was 21 years old. He was only 12. He died from injuries in a car accident. Although he was my nephew, we grew up together in the same household and so in my heart, he was my little brother. I never ever want to experience that feeling of losing someone so close to me who died unexpectedly. I was devastated. I was depressed, having thoughts of dying, I couldn't function. I cried for months. I didn't socialize and barely ate. It was almost like having lost my own daughter. It was terrible.
Favorite song?
Oh man, this is hard! Ok, I will try and answer with one song only...it's a toss up between Barbra Streisand or Madonna. Ok, I will choose *drumroll* THE WAY WE WERE
Favorite band?
I will say KC and the Sunshine Band because they were the first band I liked growing up.
Favorite food?
Spaghetti and meatballs
Favorite board game?
Growing up it was LIFE.
Favorite holiday?
It has to be Christmas because everyone gets something and I love giving gifts. It is also family time.
Favorite sport?
Baseball...L.A. DODGERS :cheer:
Do you have a pet, and what's his/her name?
I have a male pug. His name is Duke. I also have an aquarium full of fish. They have no names.
Favorite movie actor and movie actress?
JOHN TRAVOLTA baby! ;) Fave actress would have to be Sally Field. I have many, but she is incredible.
What kind of a computer do you have?
Compaq Presario...had it for over 4 years.
Do you have a dream car?
I have dreamt abt owning a 70's blue Corvette. Growing up in that era that was some kind of car. It still is. It just screams "DRIVE ME DOWN PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY"
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 09:56 PM ANNBALL
Have you ever dreamed of living somewhere exotic?
You know, I have dreamt abt VISITING an exotic locale, but never really thought abt living anywhere else but here. As for visiting any exotic place, I think of the Orient or some tropical island getaway.
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 09:57 PM LULU again
I gots another question! If someone left Wayne Rogers on your doorstep would you give him to me?
Didn't I do that the last time? ;)
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 09:59 PM JO LUVS KETCHUP aka KELLY KETCHUP
I know you never will but if you ever were to change your username, what would you change it to?
I have thought of this before and I can't even think of what it would be. I guess it would have to be something like TRAVOLTA-LVR
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 10:02 PM BRIEANNAS
If you could own any type of business in the world, what would it be?
Some type of lingerie store like Victoria's Secret or a clothing store that caters to parents and children, like a "mommy and me" store where mom's can shop for their clothes and their kids clothes and maybe find matching attire.
What's your idea of a perfect day?
That depends on how I feel. Right now I can picture a perfect day being where I can sleep in late, have no housework, no cooking to do and being able to just lay around. I guess that sounds like I had a long day today huh?
Mikado 02-04-2008, 10:07 PM Bhuddahs
I know you collect Bhuddas, is there a certain bhudda statue youd love to get your hands on, but, either can't afford, or can't find (and you can put up a pic, if you like)
Fantasy Q
If you could make up a character to play in a guest-star role on Corner Gas, who would you be? (For example Hank's cousin, or a girl with a crush on Brent)
Irene the "medium"
If you could revive anyone from history for an hour of talk, who would you pick and why?

Bhuddahs
I know you collect Bhuddas, is there a certain bhudda statue youd love to get your hands on, but, either can't afford, or can't find (and you can put up a pic, if you like).
Actually, I don't go looking for Buddhas...Buddhas find me. When out and abt, I seem to be able to zero in where there are Buddhas for sale. I don't have any certain Buddhas in my head to look for, but now that you brought it up, it would be nice to find one that is blue colored and crystal looking. I already have a Jade Buddha, I have a marble Buddha, small Buddhas, large Buddhas, one in my garden and several in my living room of different colors. So getting one that is my fave color would be nice.
Fantasy Q
If you could make up a character to play in a guest-star role on Corner Gas, who would you be? (For example Hank's cousin, or a girl with a crush on Brent).
I would love to be a girl that gets Brent's attention and gives Lacey a run for her money. ;) I would also be a big fan of the chili dog. Which is what I had for lunch today.
Irene the "medium"
If you could revive anyone from history for an hour of talk, who would you pick and why?
Oh this is a toughie. It would either be Princess Diana or John Lennon. Ok, I will choose Diana. Diana was the epitomy of a woman with class, substance, beauty, style and a loving mother. Regardless of what she had been through, she held her head up high and only wanted to be loved. I would want to talk to her and ask her things that would probably make me cry, such as her parents divorce, her feelings for Charles, etc.
Mikado 02-04-2008, 10:24 PM I would love to be a girl that gets Brent's attention and gives Lacey a run for her money. I would also be a big fan of the chili dog. Which is what I had for lunch today. In tonights CG, Brent actually had a crush on someone BESIDES Lacey, and Davis put the moves on Lacey....and according to the preview for next weeks show, a fortune teller claims Lacey will be marrying HANK! (So, maybe Brent will be available....i'm sure the chilli dogs thing would give you a shot at it! )
Which one of your kids is your favorite?

Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 01:03 AM SWEETDIGGITY aka The Biggest JLo fan there is. ;)
What's your favorite J.Lo song? ;)
"My Love Don't Cost a Thing"...I mean, she is being real down to earth in that song, talking abt how money, jewelry, cars, furs, mansions, don't mean a DAMN THING TO HER WITHOUT A MAN'S LOVE! C'mon now, give Jennifer the love y'all She is REAL!!! ;)
If you could be someone else for a day, who would it be and why?
NOT JLo. Oh I would love to be John Travolta's wife, Kelly. ;) Wanna know why?
Mikado 02-05-2008, 03:18 AM What do you consider the most PASSIONATE song ever....romantically speaking?
Do you worry about cougar attacks in your area? (or mountain lions as you call them there)
Tell a short story about something that happened to you that would make a great "Ripleys" "Believe it or not" cartoon ;)
waichingliu81 02-05-2008, 06:38 AM if you and your family could live and reside in another country, where money was no object, which country would that be and why?
if you had to interview rosie o' donnell, what 3 questions would you dare to ask her?
what is your cultural background?
what 3 things- be it people or whomever give you the most pleasure out of life, right now?
coffield3 02-05-2008, 06:56 AM What is your favorite childhood memory? :)
Holly 02-05-2008, 10:31 AM How are you doing today?
ilovethe80s 02-05-2008, 12:02 PM If you could be a character on a TV show who would you be and why?
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 06:13 PM MIKADO
What do you consider the most PASSIONATE song ever....romantically speaking?
"Feel Like Making Love" by Roberta Flack AND "Pillow Talk" by Sylvia. I know, you asked for only one song, but I couldn't decide.
Do you worry about cougar attacks in your area? (or mountain lions as you call them there)
Not really. Not at least here in my actual neighborhood. There have been mountain lions that have come down from the local hills and invaded the neighborhoods near the golf courses, but mainly because they are looking for food and they end up eating the dog or cat food left outdoors. I have seen mountain lions but more closer to the areas that are close to the hills.
Tell a short story about something that happened to you that would make a great "Ripleys" "Believe it or not" cartoon.
I can't think of one. I know there is one, but I can't for the life of me think of it. DUH!
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 06:27 PM WAICHINGLIU
if you and your family could live and reside in another country, where money was no object, which country would that be and why?
Oh man, this is hard because I have a thing abt never wanting to leave my area. I have to be near my sister and family. BUT! for the purpose of answering your question, if me and my family were to leave, I would choose Mexico near the beach, some tropical locale in a nice home overlooking the ocean. I love the beach area. I can't be away from the beach. I was born and raised here so moving anywhere else, it would have to be by water.
if you had to interview rosie o' donnell, what 3 questions would you dare to ask her?
1. Why do you honestly believe that our government was behind 9/11?
2.Do you think our government would have had innocent children killed on a plane that slammed into the Pentagon?
3. What happened to you to make you so angry?
what is your cultural background?
I am adopted. I was adopted by a hispanic, catholic family. Those are the things I grew up knowing. My father was a businessman and my mother ran one of my father's businesses shortly until I was born. I was raised that education is of the upmost importance. Get an education and make something of yourself and don't depend on another is what my father taught us. There were no differences between being a male or female in our family. We are all equal. Raised catholic, we went to Sunday church and catholic school. Although I have certain beliefs such as the death penalty and abortion that defies my moral upbringing.
what 3 things- be it people or whomever give you the most pleasure out of life, right now?
My sister. She is 13 years older than me and although she is my sister, she took on the burden of raising me when our mother died when I was only 6. I praise her and love her for taking on that responsibility. We are really close and life means nothing without her. My family (my boyfriend and my kids)...they keep me busy, they need me and I would be bored to death if I didn't have them in my life. They give me something to look forward to everyday.
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 06:30 PM COFFIELD
What is your favorite childhood memory?
The family trips we took when I was very young. I loved the trips we took to Baja California and camped out on the beaches. Shooting off fireworks and meeting other kids who were also on vacation. My brother and I would have so much just being kids. Any camping trip anywhere are my fave memories as a child. We were so happy.
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 06:31 PM HOLLY
How are you doing today?
I am doing great today. Today is my youngest daughter's birthday. She is 19. :faint: Where did the time go? I also voted today. I am very excited overall abt these elections.
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 06:33 PM ilovethe80's
If you could be a character on a TV show who would you be and why?
Ohhhh, there are a few, but I would have to pick Carrie Heffernan on King of Queens, simply because she and I are so much alike! My boyfriend says watching her is like watching me, the things she says, the way she says things, how she gets mad, her sense of humor, her sarcasm.etc. The next character would be Wanda on Corner Gas. She is very sarcastic...and I love it!!!!
