...us being big enough TV fans that we chat on a message board about everything TV....are tired of TV Land!

I thought this was funny. I was driving home tonight listening to the 60s/70s station. The DJ was listing off some of the happenings on this day and he mentioned that it was Lloyd Bridges' birthday. He was, of course, part of TV history in "Sea Hunt." The DJ mentioned "Sea Hunt" and then he said that he wished someone like TV Land would dust that show off and air it because he was tired of seeing "Good Times" and "Bonanza" 84 times a day. I immediately thought of SO and how so many people here have said the same thing. Makes me wonder where these people are that watch this stuff enough to keep it on the air??

Have you seen the new commercials, brace yourself for MOVIE WEEK! They're showing a movie every night at 8pm :rolleyes2

Even though I'm not getting cable at the moment, I was tired of seeing the same old shows when I was getting it. You'd think someone would come up with a petition everyone could sign to get a variety of "Good Sitcoms" put on TV Land and Nick At Night.

My thoughts exactly.

IT'S NOT AMC...it's TV LAND. Movies are NOT classic TV. They're classic MOVIES. They belong on a classic movie channel.

Now if they were showing TV movies, I wouldn't complain as much.

Just goes to show how out of touch these executives really are. ohno:

Exactly. What do you think people who watch AMC would think if their movies were periodically interrupted by half-hour sitcoms?

They aren't what they used to be. I waited a long time to get TV Land and I only was able to enjoy it for about 2 years. Nowadays I barely watch the channel except for the Beverly Hillbillies.

I was angry how TV Land treated Benson. It was on and off that network before I had a chance to blink.

I don't even watch AMC anymore. They ruined that channel too by replacing classic movies with movies that aren't and cutting them up with commercials.

That's true and so funny. Fess up Cathy, were you laughing alone in your car? lol.

I wasn't happy with their impatience with the show, and just their impatience in general. I think a lot more shows would do well on that station if given a decent chance.

On a positive note, I was able to record a ton of episodes of Benson. I only need one to complete the whole series. Thanks, TV Land!

They must have taken notes from the networks on how they treat new shows. Comes and goes without a chance to even get an audience. ohno:

Sooooo true. I used to like AMC. They showed a lot of old Lucille Ball movies.

That's what I did when Bewitched ran on one of my local stations. I taped most of Season 3 and part of Season 4 before they suddenly dropped the show from the lineup. How long did Benson run on TV Land? It wasn't long at all, if I recall correctly.

The kick-off marathon was the first weekend of June, 2006. It was taken off TV Land on March 1, 2007. 8 months, basically, but most of that time was late Friday nights when they weren't airing movies or early Sunday mornings.

It USED to be the station I had on the most. I had it on when the news of 9/11 broke and my husband knew he had to phone me from work because I'd be watching Dick Van Dyke when everyone else were showing coverage.

Now, I almost NEVER tune it in. What's with the multiple episodes of a very limited selection of shows and now movies? And not necessarily even classic movies.

They should rename it "MoreOfTheSameOldSh*tLand"

I wish people who respect the property would take over these Viacom stations. There is so much they could show, not the same tired played out shows you can buy on DVD or Netflix

I was watching TV Land too, except I was watching The Odd Couple when I heard.

Someone put an episode of It Takes a Thief up on YouTube, and I noticed it came from TV Land (looked like a 90s logo). Now how can a network that used to show rare stuff like that show stuff that's not only non-rare, but on DVD as well, for their entire schedule? So sad.

Actually some of their shows aren't available on officially released DVDs. I know Bonanza isn't. (No complete seasons, anyway.) And I must confess that I'm guilty on that count. I'll watch Bonanza almost endlessly.

Still, I would gladly watch it exit from the TVLand line-up, if only the clowns in charge would stop being such incredible jerks. I mean to say:

NO MORE MOVIES, WHICH NEVER BELONGED ON THE BLASTED STATION!

NO MORE TIME-SLOT WASTING TVLAND ORIGINALS!!

TAKE SOME OF THOSE SHOWS THAT HAVE BEEN ON FOREVER (like The Andy Griffith Show), AND GIVE THEM A REST!!!

SHOW US SOME STUFF THAT HASN'T BEEN IN CONSTANT SYNDICATION SINCE THE INTRODUCTION OF VCRs!!!!

*whew* I feel better, now.
