Thanks for picking me for the first batch of interviews, Mona. I was really looking forward to doing the SO interview of the week again. :)
1. There are many people who I admire. I really admire my dad a lot. After working for a company for many, many years, he found himself unemployed in 2002 because the company downsized. Being over 50 years old, he found it very difficult to find a new job. Infact, it took him almost an entire year to find a new job, and it was for much less money than what he was getting. He also doesn't much care for either the job or the hours that he works (4 to midnight) but in the five years he's been there he has never missed a day of work. Even though he dislikes the job, he goes every single day. I really admire that. Any of you who have had to work a job that you didn't like, you know only too well how difficult it is to go in everyday.
As I think everyone here at SO already knows, I have a huge amount of respect for Lisa Whelchel. She's beautiful, intelligent and so down-to-Earth. Like Lisa, I am a born again Christian, and I have been greatly inspired by this really amazing lady and her writings. Her book The Facts of Life and Other Lessons My Father Taught Me changed my life. Also, she played one of the two most beautiful television characters ever. :D Terry Farrell played the other. :)
I also really look up to Colin Powell. He went from being a poor kid who was an underachiever in school to being a general in the Army. His autobiography, My American Journey, is an inspiring story of the American dream come true.
2. My dream job would be a professor of American History at the college level. I don't have the level of college education to have such a job, but it is something that I think would be really exciting to do. Also, if I could take at least one kid who thinks that history is dull and boring and change his mind, that would be really rewarding to me. I know that it can be done, because I used to think that history was dull and boring, but then in college I got the right professors and I had a change of heart.

Is DS9 your favorite Star trek Series?
Thanks, Tom. :)
DS9 is not only my favorite Star Trek series, it is my all time favorite series period. I simply love the characters, the ongoing storylines and the different types of stories that the show told. Some episodes like "In The Pale Moonlight" are really dark and then others like "The Magnificent Ferengi" are really comical. It is a show that has everything. :)
Nighthawk76 01-12-2008, 04:43 PM Have you ever screamed KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN?
No, I can't say that I have.
Ireneparalegal 01-12-2008, 04:47 PM If given one day to spend with Lisa Whelchel, what would you two do? Where would you go?
If you had the power to decide right now who our next president would be, who would it be and why?
If you could go back in time what would you do different?
Cactus Jack 01-12-2008, 04:48 PM How did ya find Sitcoms Online?
Cactus Jack 01-12-2008, 04:51 PM If given one day to spend with Lisa Whelchel, what would you two do? Where would you go?
I have an asnwer, but we'll see what Mike says first!
Nighthawk76 01-12-2008, 04:57 PM What tv-show theme song have you had stuck in your head for an entire day?
One day last week I had Mark Snow's theme song to Millennium in my head all day long. It is just a hauntingly, beautiful theme with those sorrowful, celtc violins. I like it even more than Snow's X-Files theme. Anyone who knows the show would be very surprised to hear that the Millennium theme was inspired by a Kylie Minogue song.
Nighthawk76 01-12-2008, 04:58 PM What's your most secret desire?
I wish that I could carry a tune. I really like to sing along to the radio and CDs, but I have a really awful voice.
Cactus Jack 01-12-2008, 05:02 PM I wish that I could carry a tune. I really like to sing along to the radio and CDs, but I have a really awful voice.
Are you worse than James Blunt?
LuLu Rogers 01-12-2008, 05:10 PM If a tree falls in the forrest and no one's there to hear it, does it still make a noise? ;)
Nighthawk76 01-12-2008, 07:36 PM If given one day to spend with Lisa Whelchel, what would you two do? Where would you go?
If you had the power to decide right now who our next president would be, who would it be and why?
If you could go back in time what would you do different?
1. If I could spend a day with Lisa I would probably talk to her about God. Lisa is a good Christian and I still have a long way to go, so I would want to get her advice on what I can do to be a better person. Of course, I would also ask her about some of my favorite FOL episodes. She could share some behind the scenes stories with me.
2. I would pick Hillary Clinton to be our next president. I know she isn't very popular among a lot of SO members, but I think that she would make a good president. I also think Obama could be a pretty good president. He would be my second choice. Actually, my first choice for president would be Colin Powell, but I don't think he will ever run.
3. I don't think I would do anything differently. This isn't t say that I have never made a mistake, because I have made plenty of them through the years. However, I think people learn from the mistakes they have made and that helps them grow and mature as a person. This has certainly been the case in my life. Since I like who I am overall, I think I need all my many past mistakes to make me the person I am today.
Nighthawk76 01-12-2008, 07:45 PM How did ya find Sitcoms Online?
I actually answered this question in my recent SO Survey, Jack? Where were you? ;) I joined Sitcoms Online five years ago next month. This was when Nick at Nite was airing reruns of Charles In Charge. I was retaping all the episodes because my copies, all of which were taped during the show's original run, by 2003 were in pretty poor shape. There were episodes which were in such terrible shape they were more or less unwatchable. However, to my great disappointment, Nick wasn't showing the first season episodes. I signed up to the TV Land board just so I could find out if Nick was going to air the CBS episodes at some point. I really didn't get much of an answer, so I did a google search on CIC and found my way here. I signed up, made the same post I did on the TV Land board on the CIC board here and the rest is history. However, I didn't come here to Chit Chat until 2004.
Nighthawk76 01-12-2008, 07:46 PM Are you worse than James Blunt?
Probably
Nighthawk76 01-12-2008, 07:46 PM If a tree falls in the forrest and no one's there to hear it, does it still make a noise? ;)
Of course it does. ;)
Cactus Jack 01-12-2008, 07:49 PM Probably
LOL thats impossible
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 01-12-2008, 08:15 PM What's your fav thing about SO?
Nighthawk76 01-13-2008, 12:23 AM What's your fav thing about SO?
I think my favorite thing about SO is all the wonderful people I've met here over the last five years. :)
catlover79 01-13-2008, 12:27 AM How many siblings do you have, Mike, and where do you fit in there?
Brieannas21 01-13-2008, 12:34 AM If you could go back in time and live in a different decade, what decade would you live in?
If you had a million dollars and could only spend it on ONE thing, what would it be?

If you had a million dollars and could only spend it on ONE thing, what would it be?
1. The 1960's. I would have been able to witness the presidency of John F. Kennedy. I would have been able to hear the music of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Cream when it was brand new and The Rolling Stones when they were young and still good. I would haven been able to watch the original Star Trek in first run and seen 2001: A Space Odyssey in the theaters. Yeah, if I had a time machine I would go back to the 1960's. :)
2. I'd probably give it to a charity to help out people in need.
Nighthawk76 01-13-2008, 01:00 AM How many siblings do you have, Mike, and where do you fit in there?
I am the middle child, Monika. I have two sisters. One was born in 1974 and the other in 1983.
Mikado 01-13-2008, 01:15 AM So youd vote a Clinton/Obama ticket? (I would...if i were American)
What do you like to eat, just to indulge yourself (As a treat)?
Like me, youre a history buff...what do you consider the most important historical even of the 20th century? (and why)

1. I think a Clinton/Obama ticket would be great. I actually think that if Hillary gets the the Democratic nomination, that she should run with Obama as her running mate.
2. I like brownies a lot as a treat.
3. That's a great question. Well, I think that the most important historical event of the 20th century is the second world war. Even though like John Lennon I am very much anti-war, there are still some wars that had to happen and World War II was certainly one of them. If we didn't have the second World War or if we had lost it, Hitler and Germany would have taken over the world and I can't even imagine what life would be like now. It would probably be like George Orwell's 1984 or something.
Nighthawk76 01-13-2008, 01:28 AM If you could skip ahead to any year in the future what year would it be? Why?
That's a great question, Jenny. I'm not sure I can pick any specific year, since I don't know what is going to happen in any given year in the future since it hasn't happened yet. However, as a very wise man one said, I would like the future to be a time where there is no war, no hunger and no poverty.

Your answers to 1 and 2 are exactly the same id have given.  (incl the part about John Lennon) :D ...on 2 I would say lobster though ;)
catlover79 01-13-2008, 09:24 PM We know you're a huge All in the Family fan, and that your name is Mike. Has anyone ever called you Meathead?
^ And have you ever met anyone named Gloria?
Nighthawk76 01-13-2008, 11:55 PM We know you're a huge All in the Family fan, and that your name is Mike. Has anyone ever called you Meathead?
Yeah, my dad. He was just joking around though.
Nighthawk76 01-13-2008, 11:58 PM ^ And have you ever met anyone named Gloria?
Actually, I have. When I was in the early levels of grade school, I lived next door to a girl named Gloria. This was also around the time that Laura Branigan had a really big hit pop song called "Gloria".
Nighthawk76 01-15-2008, 01:36 AM If you had to give up your all time favorite book or cd which one would you pick? Why?
Well, since they are my all time favorites, they would be the ones that I would never give up.
My favorite CD would have to be The Beatles self-titled two disc 1968 album which is often referred to as "The White Album" because of its all white cover. It is my favorite because the songwriting is as good as it gets on this one. John Lennon and Paul McCartney were at their best and George Harrison finally had the chance to write more than his usual one or two songs an album, and he certainly proved up to the task. Many of John's songs were very personal and were a hint to the direction his solo career would go. However, the fact that this album saw all three members of the band doing their own thing, is why the making of the album was set against the backdrop of a lot of fighting and the seeds of the group's 1970 break-up were probably planted here. Still, the music on "The White Album" is just so amazing.
My favorite book is The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. I've read it 5 times. As good as the movie is (and is is really good), the novel is still better. The book, like the movie, deals with the question of faith, and isn't simply a horror novel, but an exploration of both religion and psychology. And it is filled with with such memorable characters. Also, some of the book's most memorable scenes were not in the film in that they were ones that worked well on the printed page but wouldn't work well on the screen in that they would have slowed down the action.
Mr. Television 01-15-2008, 01:52 AM I know you've just become a FOL fan in the last few years. Is their any other television show that you've never seen that you would like to?
Cactus Jack 01-15-2008, 09:50 AM Actually, I have. When I was in the early levels of grade school, I lived next door to a girl named Gloria. This was also around the time that Laura Branigan had a really big hit pop song called "Gloria".
Did that annoy her to death, people singing that around her?
Nighthawk76 01-17-2008, 12:56 AM I know you've just become a FOL fan in the last few years. Is their any other television show that you've never seen that you would like to?
I've always been interested in seeing the short lived mid-90's drama, My So Called Life.
Nighthawk76 01-17-2008, 12:57 AM Just for fun question: If you were given the opportunity to meet Lisa or Nancy from FOL, but by doing so it meant you would no longer be able to watch FOL at all (includes dvds, tapes and episodes on tv) would you? ;)
No, I don't think that I would.
Nighthawk76 01-17-2008, 12:57 AM Did that annoy her to death, people singing that around her?
I think it probably did.
