Did anyone else watch last night's PBS program Pioneers of Television:
Sitcoms? Great show! I wish I had taped it. They managed to cram a
lot of neat stuff into one hour (no commercials): clips and interviews with
such stars as Joyce Randolph, Andy Griffith, Jim Nabors, Barbara Eden, Dick
Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Pat Harrington and Marlo Thomas.

When was it on? And when are they going to rerun the show?

I watched it last night. It was pretty good. I didn't know that Joyce Randolph was still living. The interviews were great and the no commercials were even better. Jackie Gleason was a comedic genius.

Check your local listings. One of the PBS stations in my area is showing it again tonight and on Saturday. Personally, I was disappointed that a show called "Pioneers of Television: Sitcoms" skipped over Mary Kay and Johnny -- the very first television sitcom. Still, it was an enjoyable hour with many amusing clips and some nice interview segments. I will be watching the remaining three installments over the coming weeks.

I thought it was ok, but, one hour is too short a time for the subject and it showed...too little info, too few clips, and most of the clips they did show were cut in such a way that you often missed the punchline.
I've seen better.
