BensonFan 01-01-2008, 10:28 PM Yes I do but unfortunately my DVR does not have a "pause" button and I'm stuck with the commercials. Trying to download them to my PC and edit out the commercials has been a major pain in the neck. Is there a simple program someone can recommend?
(Sorry--not trying to hijack your thread!)....
But yes, I do record some shows onto DVD.
Tha Kid eX 01-01-2008, 10:38 PM cant say i do personally unless its recent things im not home to watch then i recod them to my DVR, but i wish i could go back to when nickelodeon was a good network for kids with a dvd recorder and a few hundred blank dvds and get all the shows i grew up with back. but oh well

PlayOn 01-01-2008, 11:49 PM I did with my memaw (grandma). She would tape 'The Facts of Life' back when N@N had it. And when I could come over, I'd tape it while I watched it and watch it again after she went to bed. But I don't record now.
tanquant 01-02-2008, 10:37 AM I tape shows that I dont think will ever come on dvd such as Mama's Family the later episodes and Kenan and Kel. I also wish that I could tape those earlier episodes of Nick in the early 90's
treky 01-02-2008, 04:21 PM I RECORD (not "TAPE"-that's what you do with a VCR. This is 2008, for gods sake!!!  ) "THE AMAZING RACE" on Sundays; since I go to my parents for dinner then. And, I'll sometimes record a movie off of TCM (the only good movie channel anymore) and a show off of The History Channel on my DV-R.
floyd2006 01-02-2008, 04:38 PM I tape Night Court cause theres an good chance it will never be on dvd.
I tape many of the shows too.
chris31989 01-02-2008, 07:14 PM I tape Homicide: Life on the Street, a local show and The View, but that's when I can't see them when they are on. If I like a certain scene in an episode of any show I tape it. The DVR is great. I also tape a song I like if it comes on the Satellite radio on the TV. I also tape movies on there.
Lorimar Television 01-02-2008, 07:25 PM Sometimes I tape episodes of shows I really like.

I have literally hundreds of video tapes--so I'm not about to convert to DVD!
... not this late in my life. Hopefully, the VCR won't become obsolete at least
in my lifetime!

Is that a lot? I have about 25,000 that I'm converting to DVD. I want to see if I can get it done before I die first.
tv star collector 01-03-2008, 08:54 AM Nope! I don't have quite that many (thank goodness)!
Good luck with that.
Right now I'll just be happy when I can afford to buy a DVD/VCR
combo to watch my videos and DVDs on. My VCR still works fine
(I use it virtually every day), but the DVD drive on my computer
went south a couple months ago. That doesn't bother me too
much; I only have dozens (not hundreds) of DVDs.
^ I've converted less than 20 tapes to dvd's, it sure takes a lot of time.
Mrgman 01-03-2008, 08:55 PM Days of our lives, Big Brother, and Entourage
friendsfan77 01-04-2008, 04:45 AM I tape Ryan's Hope from SOAPnet, The Best of Soul Train, and certain shows from GSN daily
livsforluv 01-04-2008, 11:09 AM I record the shows that I have no time to watch so I can watch them later all the time.. I can't wait for the show to be rerun!
Furienna 01-04-2008, 07:18 PM I record many shows from TV every day. I still use VCR. Because hey, when something ain't broken, don't fix it! But when it comes to movies, or other things that I want to keep, I still often record them on DVD.
catlover79 01-04-2008, 07:26 PM Oh yeah.

I'm saving up until I can buy a quality DVD recorder. I would highly and strongly recommend anyone to stay away from cheap stuff, especially if it's a CyberHome model.
