I used episodes and the 50th anniversary sets and for a few other sets I used both episodes and imaginations and then to colorize I used the sets as references.And to make the shapes I used a lot of preset shapes and items on paint.

Wow! You really know your stuff. I have paint but only use it to edit photo sizes. Great job!!! :thumbsup:

Seeing the Connecticut home with the fab four really is pretty in color. I love it.

Thanks. It was hard though not knowing what colors to use because all i had was the black and white references. Have there evr been any color pictures of the Connecticut set because of all the pictures ive seen, I have never seen the Connecticut set in color.

I despise colourisation, but, w/e turns your crank, it's all good. I think maybe you got Lucy's hair a little TOO orange there (The purple doors are pretty flippy! :lol: )

The colors really stand out, you almost need sun glasses to look at it. Its very pretty though, & you did a great job on it. Hope to see more!

These are SO awesome. Love the sets! I would like to see The Brady Bunch house and also Roseanne's livingroom. Just wondering, how long does it take you to make one of these? They're full of detail and look like they take a while to complete.

It doesnt take too long. When i have free time, which is always late at night I do them. It takes like an hour or too, depending on the sources i use for them. Roseanne would be a great one. When i have time Ill definatley make it.

I saw the I Love Lucy exhibit at the Texas State Fair a few years ago, and that door and paneling were brown. But the blue sofa does appear to match what was in that set.

I like the purple one better. It gives the apartment a Cooler, more of a new york apartment.

It's nice to see the color pics but Lucy's hair is TOO red. It's such a bright red it really looks fake. She should've gone with a more natural red color.

I need someone to make one of these pictures on their own because i dont get how her hair is too bright. ive seen pictures of her where it looks like she has a fire on her head and compared to those, these are tame.

Actually, it is said her hair was really ORANGE red, and that it was not so nice in PERSON but great looking in black and white, which it was, you're showing it in color and this is the way it would have looked had the show been done that way.

Alright guys, cool down. If you want to know that much I'll tell you how its done. Load the images into MS Paint and cut their heads off, then move it to someone elses body. Simple, eh?

Wow, Mase! I really like them! :) I wish I could authorize you to fully-colorize EVERY single I Love Lucy episode there is! ;) Are you able to colorize only the frames you take from the DVDs, or can you colorized actual "moving" scenes, too? If so, I'd love to see some colorized scenes in "motion!"

Mase1322, what program do you use to get the pictures so clear? What is your process? I am amazed at the quality.

Im amazed myself. I use photoshop but lately ive been messing around with it a lot more and i ajust the contrast and brightness and remove the noise and it comes out pretty good. I would LOOOOOOVE to do an episode.

How do you color them exactly? Mind sharing with us? ;)

I'm...stunned...just...stunned! LOL :) It's a masterpiece! ;) I wonder if there is a way to get them to CBS. I wonder where you would send it and/or how to go about doing it. If this doesn't get 'em, I don't know what will!

There are two "I Love Lucy" pictures that I'd really like to see colorized! These are actual still photographs from the show. The first one is from the episode, "Breaking the Lease," and shows Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel singing at the piano at the Ricardo's apartment. It's a really good picture. It's actually one of my favorites of the four of them. The other one is actually on this page. It's from the episode, "No Children Allowed." They are all in the Mertzes apartment at the end of the episode, smiling after making up from a fight the girls and the boys just had. I'd like to see these done with the original pictures. But, if they can't be found, the next best thing would be to take them from the episodess on DVD.

My favorite that you've colorized is in the last batch you posted, that last picture of Lucy. It's very realistic. You could convince someone that it was a real color photo.

It looks as if we were there in the audience the night they filmed that episode or somebody in the audience took a still photograph using color film. I swear, it looks as if it is in actual onset color picture!

Yes, true, because we've seen these dull black and white photos of the set and here it's bright and in color and all WARM and INVITING, makes you want to move in there with them, LOL!

You took the words right out of my mouth, SPLAIN! LOL I was about to say the same exact thing in my previous post, but didn't. It made me want to take a flying leap and jump right into my computer monitor! LOL

You know something, when I am having an I Love Lucy marathon now and come to the "Lucy Goes to Scotland" episode, I take out the season five disc that it is on and put in the "Bonus Disc" and watch the fully colorized version! LOL Then, when it's finished, I take it out of my DVD player and put the season five disc back in and continue. LOL I do the same thing with my "Lucy's Lost Moments" DVD. I watch the fully-colorized I Love Lucy cast on The Bob Hope Chey Show as opposed to the original black and white version. I do the same thing with the other segments on the disc, as well. I only watch the color features! :)

I never get tired of looking at Mase's works of art! That's exactlly what they are. And on a more personal note, I woulike to say directly to him...Mase...you are aMASEing! LOL Forget "Amazing Grace!" You're "Amazing Mase!" ;) Keep up the GREAT work, and please keep them coming. We want more! I love what I am seeing! :)

Look at the window, he offers so much detail i can see people in the tiny little windows of those many New York brownstones and in the pictures on the wall, you can see every little detail, you don't see that in the black and white versions. I too love the Hope Chevy show in color, i refuse to watch it in black and white any more, just so boring. And the I Love Lucy Christmas show too and Scotland and now do the Fashion show or Lucy vancing with Dan Johnson where she looked her loveliest or at her wedding to Ricky or any of the other great moments, i'd love to see The Fur Coat IN COLOR, same as that mink stole in Scotland. You offer so much detail work that i actually read her fortune in her palm in one of the photos, LOL! And one time you could see the swelling on her leg from where the twins kicked her, LOL!

I'd love to see him redo that montage of colorized scenes that are on the Columbia House DVDs and all of the season one dics of the new I Love Lucy: Complete Series Box-set. If you hit the "Play All" feature on any of the season one dics of the new I Love Lucy: Complete Series Box-set, that special feature/easter egg will come on. I loved his version of the Christmas Show. I'd love to see him do side-by-side comparrisons of theirs and his.

I KNOW!!!!! As Monica on Friends would say! You can tell that Lucy was bitten by a mosquito in that shot, the tiny little bump shows on his picture, LOL! Now THAT'S detail! I'd love to show you the still where they're at the piano, so you can use it for reference, but I can't find it. :( It's in a book I currently own and I don't have access to a scanner. I've tried doing a search for the picture online, but no such luck. Does anybody know the picture I am referring to and or where we can find it? It's such a good picture! It's from the episode "Breaking the Lease." If I had a scanner, I'd scan it. Maybe I can take a picture of it with my digital camera.

Yes Lucy, teh special, airing the night she died was hosted by Dan Rather and it was great, of course seeing as it was on CBS, they had access to that great montage and used it on the show. Ever see the Weird Al Yancovik VHS called Babalu Music, that also features great scenes and a bit of color also some great music and even a DISCO Lucy version at the end, i play it all the time.

Anyway, I've got "wundaful" news, Mase! I was in my bed this morning and then it came to me! I brought the book into work and asked if somebody had access to a scanner. The one I had in mind to ask is a really big I Love Lucy fan also! I just recently started a new job and I always manage to encounter a Lucy fan, and she was it. I noticed she had an I Love Lucy greeting card on her desk. I asked her if she was a fan or if the person who gave the card to her was. She said both! :) We call each other Lucy and Ethel! LOL I'm Lucy and she's Ethel! It was so funny. I was on my way to see her today and while I was on my way, I was sending one of my friends a text message. I was in the middle of it when she said goodmorning to me and I let out one of those "Lucy" screams, like when Lucy would have the vacuum turned on and Ethel would come in and say "Lucy a few times and then tap her on the shoulder. LOL It was just like that. I said "Honestly" just like Lucy! Anyway, I brought the book into work with me and I asked her if she had access to a scanner. She said "Yes!" I told her why and she told me to come by with it. I gave her my E-mail and she said she would send it to me when she is finished doing it. Would you mind terribly if I E-mailed it to you? If so, what is your E-mail?

If it's not too much trouble, I'd like the screencap you took of them at the piano from the episode, in addition to the other one.

It looks as if we were there in the audience the night they filmed that episode or somebody in the audience took a still photograph using color film. I swear, it looks as if it is in actual onset color picture!
I feel like you and SPLAIN, I most definitely feel like it is real looking at those pics. It gives you a sense of watching them right through a window almost. :lol: I love the details of the most not so obvious things such as the pictures on the wall, the knick-knacks, etc. It is lively!

Yup, i love them all also but that's my one complaint, lighten Lucy's hair a bit, go from a 100 watt bulb to sixty or less, LOL!

Thank you. Ive got a lot more on the way too. For the last two that I posted I used screenshots that were in the ILL photo gallery. Theyre smaller but there so clear and easy to do. Im gonna do the charm school one soon.

The backdrops they used for those Connecticut shots are just so beautiful considering they look so real when seen on the show, and your colorizing them makes them stand out even more.

If you look at the Connecticut picture (#138) you can easily see how fake that background house is. We all know they used a drop sheet painted with background to lend realism for outdoors, but the color just makes it stand out even more. :lol:

Thank you. Ive always thought that all of the backgrounds looked fake, especially the one in the golf episode. It was two inches away from the actors and you could practically see their shadows.lmao.

The whole point of Charm School is the garrish outfit they wear to look sophisticated so it would have been better to see a bit more of it but it still looks great, thanks.

You should really send some of these PICS to CBS so they can see why they just HAVE to colorize the whole series for us.

Ok, so that couch is even UGILER in color, LOL! Ricky looks like he's in the MOB and that horrible lamp in the background, where'd they get that? A present from someone with no taste? LOL! I'll bet it was from the Littlefields.:lol:

I never liked that lamp or the couch either. I guess the Ricardos didnt either because they gave that lamp to the Mertzes...only with a different lamp shade on it.

It's funny to me how things look so much different from the way we remember them, here in color or even watching a show on a 50 inch screen when it was originally broadcast on 21 inches or less. I just noticed the spilled sauce from the Cornel Wilde lunch on the floor the other day, had never seen that before. Like the lines where the backdrops on that wall here with Harpo. Blowing up or showing them in color emphasizes those things that we never saw before.

I don't know why but I feel more excitement when I haven't seen the pictures first before being colorized. Maybe it's just me...since I go ahead and deform them ahead of time before they're in color :p

I have no problems with the photos anymore, but to tell a cherished member that their opinion doesn't matter is rude. Not a good way for a newbie to be acting especially since Coffield has so many friends here ready to defend her and report any bad behavior.

Maybe basement artie can make his own thread for these pics so those who want to look at those pics can do so. Mase has done such a wonderful job with this thread and posting those wonderful colored pics.
