View Full Version : Leap Year in 2008!
DLevine2 12-19-2007, 11:07 PM In 2008 we have a leap year. The next leap is 2012 which we have a leap year every 4 years. The people who were born on February 29 is a leap year baby. Who was born on February 29? Who was married on February 29? Any Wedding Anniversaries on February 29? We have 5 Fridays in February of 2008.
Mikado 12-19-2007, 11:21 PM In the old days, leap years were the only time that women could ask men out or propose marriage!

Mikado 12-20-2007, 02:59 AM yup...it was more of a custom than a law though
PZelda 12-21-2007, 12:33 AM I have a cousin who was born on February 28, 1984. If she'd waited one more day, she would have been a Leap Year baby.

Good thing she didn't wait. Who needs that kind of complications?
Mikado 12-21-2007, 02:53 AM its not so bad, you age 1/4 as fast as anyone else
Brent88 12-21-2007, 04:28 AM My uncle was born on February 29, 1964. He always celebrates his birthday on the 28th, but every leap year we tease him about it. I guess he'll be 12 this time. :p

Every four years, the next one will be in 2012.
The easiest way I remember it is it's always during Presidential election years.

2008, baby! It's going to be the year!
ok...I'm confused....why would you be excited that women can propose on a leap year? Or does Max stand for MaxINE???
MrCleveland 12-21-2007, 05:06 PM Dosen't it seem that the Olympics and Presidential Election Days are on years with Leap Years?

Yes, it's something with the Summer Olympics and Presidential Elections on the years when we have a Leap Year.
This Summer, we have the Beijing Olympics and we have a new president in November 2008.

 No, I just never approach a woman. My mind doesn't naturally say, "Hey, there's a beautiful lady, maybe I should ask her out!"
So maybe if there is a year dedicated to allowing women the option(even though these days it's not unheard of), maybe the universe will let it happen! :)
I know.... pathetic, 'aint it!
Scoobiedoo30 12-21-2007, 06:32 PM is 2012 will be The next time we elec a new President

I know what you mean...it would be SO much easier if women did the "asking", wouldnt it?
DLevine2 12-23-2007, 06:53 PM is 2012 will be The next time we elec a new President
Yes, after 2008's presidential election will be in 2012 and after 2012 will be again in 2016.
After a leap year in '08 the next one will be in '12 and then in '16.
2020 is also a leap year too.

Heh, I'll turn 35 in 2020. When I thought of that, I thought of other friends who will be in their late 30's/early 40's by that point, and that terrified me. I can't imagine us as middle-aged people. And that's only 12 years away. When you hit 20, time just seems to pick up and pass ya by.
Zoneboy 12-23-2007, 08:26 PM My Great-Grandfather was a leap year baby and lived well into his nineties. :)
DLevine2 12-24-2007, 09:00 AM In 2020, I'll be 39.
