Don Dixon - I developed a very specific mental image of this guy from his appearance on UM, and one very specific post on here that was probably written by him. I'd like to see if it was accurate. For the record, I don't believe that Don Dixon was involved in the murder of Eric Tamiyasu. I think the Eric Tamiyasu case is similar to the Sammy Wheeler case in that it's highly probable that none of the three suspects presented were involved. I think both Eric and Sammy were cases where UM played up these three oddball characters rather than focusing on the facts.

When I was in my early and mid 20's I was in way too many actual bar fights. I retired undefeated when my girlfriend at the time, who is now my wife, said she would break up with me if I was ever in a fight again. That combined with the fact I stopped drinking and have an FCC, Firearm Control Card, which allows me to carry like a police officer, I have no need to use my fists on loud mouths at bars anymore. But 10 years ago, Oh Baby!

I know. This is another one that still makes me sad. I knew a lot of the Chicago cops in the neighborhood where I used to do my drinking n that saved me a few times. Eventually it got to where I had to get serious about my career and stop all the drinking before something serious happened.

Jack Davis, Jr. is one of those segments I wish got more damned attention. I probably have a soft spot for him because he resembles one of my brothers. But I find the circumstances of his death freaking fascinating. He clearly did not die in the stairwell, but was placed there. He was last seen freshly shaven, but found with stubble on his face. What the heck happened over the course of those two days?

Apparently Tim's daughter posted on UM site stating she was told by her mom that her father (Tim) had no family. Another McClure family member posted there as well saying the whole family believes he is guilty.

A victim of the times. This happened in 1976. I had this conversation with Robin in the podcast thread. You were royally screwed if your child went missing prior to the late 80's because police would always write them off as runaways. Even if they were happy, had tons of friends, did well in school and had no logical reason to run away, it didn't matter.

Good choice, though. The Dorothy Allison segment was one of my first memories of UM as a kid.

Hopefully someone has gotten their oral history. That part of Texas is probably my favorite place to visit in the state.
