View Full Version : I Need Your Prayers
LuLu Rogers 12-14-2007, 01:51 AM I went for my normal check-up at the doctor a few days ago and he ordered blood work like always. I have to have blood work done every 3 months or so because of my health problems. They didn't come back well. I'm dying. Unless some major things happen, I'm not going to last a whole lot longer. Pray that I will be able to get my health back in order, and pray for my family. My mom just told me all this a little while ago, she was crying. :(
LuLu Rogers 12-14-2007, 01:59 AM What are you dying from?
heart problems.
Mr. Television 12-14-2007, 02:23 AM Did the doctor say their's no hope?
I hope everything turns out okay for you Lauren and I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. :(
dawsongirl 12-14-2007, 02:30 AM OMG! I was hoping this was a joke. :( I feel so awful for you and your family. Could you possibly have a transplant?
Seriously, this blows me away.
LuLu Rogers 12-14-2007, 02:40 AM No, no joke. I'm going to have to go through a lot of testing and lifestyle changes. We don't know if this will correct everything or not, but I have to try.
Janice 12-14-2007, 02:58 AM Wow Lauren. Terrible news. When your doctor says lifestyle changes, what does he mean? Diet, exercise, that sort of thing? I never knew you had a heart problem. Of course, you'll be in my prayers.

Yes, major diet changes, exercise, medication, ect.
Janice 12-14-2007, 03:29 AM Yes, major diet changes, exercise, medication, ect.
It sounds to me like there's hope, Lauren. My husband was given the same orders years ago. He does his best, but it's hard to change a lifetime of bad habits. You're young. You can do this, Lauren. Your life depends on it. They didn't say anything about congestive heart failure, did they? Don't answer anything you're uncomfortable with. I'll understand. I just know a lot about heart disease.
Max Whittaker 12-14-2007, 03:43 AM
Are you overweight? Were you born with health problems?
There is always hope!

I'm sorry to hear that you have major health problems especially that you are so young. There is always something that can be done. Follow the doctors' orders and you should be fine. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
If you need to talk to someone; I'm here even though we don't really know each other. Please, keep us posted on how you're doing & everything.
Stormtracker TF 12-14-2007, 08:35 AM This is shocking, I hope you're alright. :( I'll be praying for things to look up, I hope you're able to get things under control and get well.
tv star collector 12-14-2007, 08:40 AM God bless you. Never give up hope.
tanquant 12-14-2007, 09:24 AM I will keep you in my prayers. :( Hope you can recover and live a long healthy life.
*ClassicPinUp* 12-14-2007, 09:49 AM I will be keeping you in my prayers. Just make getting healthy your main focus/do research on your condition as people/doctors have tons of new and different treatments etc. Whether it's through medical or alternative there is ALWAYS hope! Your young enough for your body to fight whatever it is that's making you ill.
I wish you nothing but the best!
bingbangbaby 12-14-2007, 10:03 AM No, no joke. I'm going to have to go through a lot of testing and lifestyle changes. We don't know if this will correct everything or not, but I have to try.
Hang in there and be tough, you can do it! Don't give up hope...I had an aunt who had a life-threatening illness and three different doctors told her she had a matter of months but she didn't buy it and she did everything she was supposed to and stayed strong and its been 16 years ago now. The doctors weren't even giving her any options. If the doctors are giving you options then you can do it too! Praying helps too, if you believe in prayer. I'll keep you in mine.

I agree with Janice - I'm sure there's hope. My (soon to be ex) husband was told a couple of years ago that he was a heart attack waiting to happen. The doctor put him on meds for his blood pressure and cholestrol and told him he'd have to follow a strict diet and get exercise. He start back exercising again (first with cardio mainly, and then free weights). In 8 months he lost approx. 50 lbs, replaced the fat with sheer muscle and went COMPLETELY off his medication which totally blew the doctor away. His tests are now totally within the normal range each time and doesn't need to see the doctor again until his regular physical next year.
He also has a cousin who's always had a very enlarged heart which only a transplant will help. He's now in his early 50's and is still doing o.k.. He can't do everything, but he's beaten the odds as they didn't think he'd live past 30.
Chin up - attitude has a lot to do with our medical help. Hope everything turns out o.k.! :)

*Pleasant Tomorrow* 12-14-2007, 07:25 PM God, I'm so sorry to hear this. :( You're so young, like everyone else said don't give up hope. I don't really know you too well, but we'll all be here for you.
Nighthawk76 12-14-2007, 08:20 PM I'm so very sorry, Lauren. :( I just don't know what to say. I'm speechless. There are no words to discribe how truly sorry I am. :(
Lauren,
I pray for full recovery; that when you go to your next visit to the doctor, the medical staff is baffled by your miraculous recovery. Just keep in mind that Jesus still heals. Walk in His favor.
God bless,
Brad

LuLu Rogers 02-17-2008, 01:37 PM It has been brought to my attention that several people thought I was making this up. Well, I'm here to tell you that no, I didn't make this up. I was deeply hurt that anyone would think that. :( I haven't mentioned it in a while because quite frankly, I don't like talking about it. I have to hear about it all the time from my family and that's enough for anyone, trust me.
Anyway, I have been back to the doctor since this terrible news and he has done more tests. Apparently, I am in better shape than he originally thought, but I'm not out of the woods yet. I still have a long road ahead and it still doesn't look good, but if I keep doing what he asks me to do, I have a much better chance.
junecleaver 02-17-2008, 01:52 PM Well anyone who doesn't believe this is a troll and wants to make trouble anyway, so ignore them. Anyway, its good your doctor says you're in better shape than he thought at first :) I hope he continues to give better news.

Thanks June :bighug:
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 02-17-2008, 03:28 PM Oh my god, who said this? WHO? That is a terrible thing to say! No one would make this up, unless they're insane, which you Lauren are absolutely NOT. Don't listen to these people. You know the truth and we are here to help you through this time. :bighug:

I'm sorry that there were certain people who thought that you were making this up, Lauren. Even though I frankly never heard of the disease that you suffer from, I totally believed you. After all, who would make up such a thing? I am glad to hear that things are looking up for you, Lauren.
Number 9 Dream 02-17-2008, 04:45 PM Wow, who thought you made this up? That's horrible...I hope you're doing okay, honey :bighug:

dawsongirl 02-18-2008, 12:44 AM Some people must think that everyone is an attention freak like them and that everyone lies to get sympathy. Losers.
Glad to hear the good news, girl.
Max Whittaker 02-18-2008, 01:04 AM You are many things, my friend. But an attention whore is not one of them.
As for what your doctor said, well, you already know my feelings on the profession. I'm just glad he was wrong in this matter.
So, you going hiking tomorrow? :)
