The reason there have been no more releases of Fresh Prince is because it's from Warner Bros. They have a habit of not releases the shows you really want to collect and spend alot of time releasing junk, things I've never even heard of, much less would ever buy. I can't imagine that so many people would rather collect Full House over Fresh Prince. I chose not to buy Fresh Prince until all 6 season are available. I don't if that day will ever come though.

I wouldn't want to watch a marathon of some show that ISN'T AIRING, I would rather see TVland ADD TO THEIR SCHEDULE SHOWS THAT WE HAVEN'T SEEN, but not a marathon.

I sold all 4 of my sets awhile ago, and don't miss them a bit.

THey should be airing what Nick at Nite usually does for their holiday specials (air a night of the holida-themed episodes.) it doesn't make any sense to air I Love Lucy, Sanford, and Andy Griffith in marathon-formats for no reason.

There are a lot of shows that only have one or two seasons out on DVD that are nowhere to be found in syndication these days that I think is a bigger deal that haven't been finished, because Fresh Prince is on Nick At Nite all night, every single night. Diff'rent Strokes comes to mind, it's been two years since season two without a season three release in sight, it hasn't aired regularly since 2002 on TNN and a lot of people do not have Comcast, but yet seasons 3-8 are still at large on DVD, even tho most people would agree that seasons 3-5/6 were the show at it's best.

Yeah. Fresh Prince is one of the most overrated shows repeated on television today, and no one knows why. There are so many shows that have only a couple seasons out on DVD and are not on television that did unbelievably better than Fresh Prince, but today they're treated like nothing. Murphy Brown ran 10 highly rated seasons on CBS, in the top 10 for 5 seasons, yet Fresh Prince was never in the top 10, only ran 6 seasons, and does way better. It makes NO sense!

I went to Best Buy last night (finally got my Family Ties 1st season!), and ran over to The Fresh Prince DVD's! LOL....They had all four seasons for $30 each. That's rediculous. They had other Warner Bros. shows like Full House and Friends for $23 or $25. That's a shame. Maybe raising The Fresh Prince DVD prices is how they're going to make their money, since nobody is buying them for $20.

Full House was suffocated on those channels, but not at all like The Fresh Prince is suffocated on every channel it's on. The DVD sales for Full House must have been really good, because not only did they release all 8 years in a short time, but they also released a Complete Series DVD, even before seeing how well the 8th season sales would be.

I think the chances of having a Fresh Prince Complete Set is out of the question, for now at least.

Full House and Step By Step are "cheesy." And Family Matters was written and produced by the same people, so that's "cheesy" as well. And so what if they are? Your Fresh Prince is very cheesy! And so is your Cosby Show.

that is true, but it's just a little surprising with all the show out there that have been seemingly abandoned on DVD that Fresh Prince would be the show to be most frustrated with no further sets considering it's one of those shows where you can just turn to N@N at any time at night and see an episode, as opposed to the shows that we haven't seen in 5-10 years in reruns. I'd love Designing Women to come out on DVD for instance, but it is currently on TV Land every night, so even though I would love a Season 1 DVD of it but considering I can watch it every night on TV Land, it's not as high on my want list as something like The Facts Of Life or Family Ties which don't air anymore and the DVD's are my only way to watch the episodes now.

The fact is that when you start buying DVDS, no matter if the show is on tv regularly or not, you want all seasons to be released. If I spent money on any set and that set was stopped for some reason, I would feel jipped because I never would have bought any of the seasons if I knew that. That's one reason I'm slow to get TV DVDS usually until a few seasons of a show are released.

Don't forget, this is Solomon's rant. He's speaking for himself. He's a fan of Fresh Prince and wants to complete his collection with uncut DVDs. I can understand that. The Difference between Facts of Life and Fresh Prince is that FP is close to completion, FOL on the otherhand still has 5 or 6 more seasons to go

We can blame the whole thing on Warner Bros. It makes me wonder how Full House gets all 8 seasons and a complete series set released in just 3 years, and Fresh Prince can't get it's last 2 seasons released. How much better can Full House really be selling?

Actually, this is a good thing, because now that Full House is done, they're gonna have to start up on something else. Why not give Family Matters and Step by Step a chance on DVD? We're getting Perfect Strangers in February, so I don't understand why FM and SBT can't get 1 season out. Family Matters was a 90's hit . . . it was in the top 20 for 3 seasons I believe, and was probably the biggest hit on TGIF. It makes no sense why we can't get a single release of it on DVD.

Then why not finish are continue shows like Murphy Brown, Drew Carey Show, Growing Pains, Living Single, The Steve Harvey Show, and many more that only have 1 season out. If they're not gonna make a whole lot of money on them, why not do it for the fans then? They're more greedy than Sony is, and that's quite an accomplishment.

I am baffled by Full House's popularity on DVD as well (I wouldn't take it for free), but I think the fact that it does so well with little kids helps a bit. I've seen people on SO with young children who say they've bought the sets because it's a show their kids like and yet they have no objections to them watching because the show is inoffensive.

Most people raising young kids today grew up with Full House. :)

I'd rather see companies wait to release tv show dvds until they have at least 2 or 3 seasons already in the bag. The wait between seasons while they go through getting rights to music, editing out things they no longer have rights to...that mess...its just ridiculous.

A couple of times I've ended up selling my season 1 set of a show because I'd rather have some money back then have an incomplete set for umpteen years. Bonanza is one of the strangest cases of tv shows on dvd I've seen...

(And I'm so over FP and FH because of seeing them on every single channel when I can't sleep at night!! Maybe in 5 or 10 years when they aren't on tv, I'll want to own them so I can watch them...but not anytime soon.)
