View Full Version : Has Anyone Bought A Movie And Had This Happen?
Family Ties Forever! 10-23-2007, 02:31 PM Has anyone had this happen? I bought a movie for my sister. The case, artwork and disc all claimed to be the correct movie, yet when I put it in the dvd player to make sure everything with it was fine it turned out to be a completely different movie. My sister wanted Dr. Dolittle so I bought that for her. The movie on the disc though was Big Trouble In Little China. I don't know how that could happen. I bought it on Amazon.
I thought that was strange.
catlover79 10-23-2007, 02:35 PM I'm sorry to hear that, Jenny. I've never had that happen to me - I just hope you get a refund/exchange soon!!
Cactus Jack 10-23-2007, 02:48 PM They put that in there so no one would buy any post Nutty Professor Eddie Murphy movies
;)
She should just watch that though, its probably better than Dr. Dolittle anyways. Or if she wanst Eddie Murphy, get her Beverly Hills Cop or Coming to America.

lol, well... Dreamgirls and the first Shrek were both really good. But I agree for the most part.
Don't forget Trading Places for great Eddie Murphy movies to get her
PZelda 10-23-2007, 05:50 PM I haven't had that happen to me - but that is pretty frustrating!! Not Amazon's fault, though, because they were not the ones that made that disc.
One time, though, I brought the... I think... 3rd season of Mary Tyler Moore on DVD. This was nearly two years ago... anyway, I got home and opened it, only to discover I had a disc 1, disc 2 and disc 2. No disc 3. So I had to take it back to the store, and they refunded me my money. I was going to get a replacement MTM set, but they were all out so I got my money back instead. That really sucked when that happened, so I understand your frustration.

swedeace 10-23-2007, 07:18 PM I've never had that happen before. I wonder how the manufacturing slipped somewhere during the process. You might want to contact Amazon and explain the situation.
LuLu Rogers 10-23-2007, 07:22 PM I've never had that happen, but just the other day my dad had bought a book and he was reading it when the pages in the middle of the book didn't make sense. Turns out that a whole other book by a different author was in the middle of this book! Dad took it back and got his money back, but it was very funny!

Years ago I got a Genesis tape for my birthday, but it was some county band instead. It was really weird but we exchanged it.

Oh not at all. It's just, Bob Dylan is a music icon and there's a Britney CD in his case of all the untalented people in the world!
treky 10-24-2007, 04:07 AM once I rented the DVD of TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES from the library. I rented the widescreen version; but when I got home and put it in the player and turned it on; I saw it was the non-widescreen version.
I can see how that mistake could easily happen, though. At our library, they just have these generic DVD cases on display and each one has on it the front and the back picture that they took off the DVD case. You take that up to the counter, and they put the disc in it. So when I brought up the case that said TERMINATOR 3, they probably didn't see the word "WIDESCREEN" on it.
Another thing at the library: if you want a DVD title that has more than one disc, you have to get out each one sepretaly. I know; that sucks. That's why I never get DVDs from there.
