Well, actually two of my favorite genres have been pretty much absent from
the airwaves for nearly 30 years: westerns and variety shows. It would be
nice to see that type of programming again--but I'm not holding my breath as
long as the reality show craze continues. Scripted television shows are
vanishing, putting many talented writers and actors out of work. The TV
landscape is not what it used to be.

I'm not a huge fan of dramas, especially the ones these days with the silly fandom "in jokes" and crap.
