A few years ago, I read in a magazine that Frank Bank (Lumpy) was a ladies man. Anyone else ever hear this? Is it true? Somehow, I can't picture him as a "ladies man". He seems kind of awkward and goofy looking.

View Full Version : Frank Bank (Lumpy) a ladies man? UMfan77 10-15-2007, 02:32 PM A few years ago, I read in a magazine that Frank Bank (Lumpy) was a ladies man. Anyone else ever hear this? AB 10-15-2007, 04:27 PM  Wow I never heard that. lol! catlover79 10-15-2007, 04:50 PM He wrote his autobiography, Call Me Lumpy, a few years back. In the book, he claimed to have slept with over 1,000 women. That's not exactly a vision you'd like to have. AB 10-15-2007, 04:56 PM ^ Double Wow! Where did he find these women anyway? lol! catlover79 10-15-2007, 04:58 PM ^ Double Wow! Where did he find these women anyway? lol! I have no idea. Can you imagine what Mr. Rutherford would do if he ever found out?? "Now, Clarence..." AB 10-15-2007, 05:08 PM ^ I don't know, he might have said Clarence was a chip off the old block. lol! It sure is hard to imagine it. lol! tdr 10-15-2007, 10:17 PM ^ I don't know, he might have said Clarence was a chip off the old block. lol! Oh, somebody's been chipping off of that block, and that's how that happened? Anyway, I have never read Frank Bank's book, and I might be going by some quotes of his in interviews, or something, but the way he has had as many women [though I'm skepitcal of his numbers claim] is just that people love to associate themselves with 'name' celebrities, just to say "I slept with ...." for one example. Granted, he wasn't anything like Elvis, who was known to tell his 'Memphis Mafia' to go to where all the girls are crowding around his gate and 'bring me a redhead about 5'8" and slim.' To me, all this celebrity worship is a modern form of idolatry, and too many people will go as far as they can with it.. even throwing themselves at "Lumpy." bingbangbaby 10-15-2007, 10:23 PM Eeeuuwww, yuck. I think tdr has a point...anyone can be a ladies man if they have some notoriety and some money, which he had both back in the day. Why he would want to boast about how many women he slept with is beyond me, and just shows you how he was a ladies man...he looked for it, offered it, and kept count. Ack. :p UMfan77 10-16-2007, 08:45 AM I wonder if Jerry Mathers was a ladies man back in the day. If he was as awkward as "Beaver" in real life, I doubt he was a ladies man. He seemed like the kind of teenager that would trip over his own feet, not an attractive quality if you ask me. ;) Torgo 10-25-2007, 02:32 PM This was also the same case for Don Knotts, who was also supposed to be quite the ladies man. Even Andy Griffith mentioned it in an interview(I think it was on one of those TV Land specials) Knotts is great, and one of my favorite comedic actors, but I doubt he would have been popular with so many women without the money and fame. Yooch 10-26-2007, 03:16 AM I have no idea. Can you imagine what Mr. Rutherford would do if he ever found out?? "Now, Clarence..." I could just picture it! catlover79 04-26-2008, 01:13 AM  I could just picture it! :brent "Gosh, Daddy..." Torgo 04-26-2008, 03:20 PM "But daddy, Captain Kangaroo wasn't on and Beaver borrowed all of my comic books, what else was I supposed to do with my time?" desilu #1 04-26-2008, 07:11 PM ^ Double Wow! Where did he find these women anyway? lol! This is JMO of course so please don't quote me, But, I'm willing to bet that he paid for prostitutes most of the time like alot of celebrities tend to do even back then. With the thought of him being a ladies man, all I have to say is YUCK!! Not in my universe! I'm not trying to be mean, just brutally honest. catlover79 04-26-2008, 10:39 PM "But daddy, Captain Kangaroo wasn't on and Beaver borrowed all of my comic books, what else was I supposed to do with my time?"  :brent Janice 04-27-2008, 09:14 PM It's not hard to find a bed partner. Go to a pickup bar, and it's as easy as 1,2,3, unless you're totally repulsive. Having sex with a large number of people is a different story than being a ladie's man. George Clooney is a ladies man, and always has a knockout on his arm. They rarely last long. Drew Carey, there's another guy who was always with knockouts. He's engaged now, but he got around. It's not hard to belive that Frank Bank slept with a lot of women. It's not hard to do, if that's what you want to do. There are lots of lonely, easy people out there. My husband had a friend who picked up a LOT of gals off the internet. catlover79 08-13-2008, 02:02 PM ^ :yeahthat catlover79 06-18-2009, 12:25 AM I put a hold on this book in the library. Seeing the LITB cast on the All Star Family Feud DVD made me remember to request the book. I'll share my thoughts once I'm done reading it. ;) MickeyMac 06-18-2009, 08:41 PM I can see Frank Bank being a ladies man. As mentioned he was a TV star, and he was on a show that people liked. Also keep in mind that Lumpy Rutheford and Frank Bank are two different people. For all we know Frank could be one of the most charming men out there. catlover79 06-19-2009, 02:03 PM ^ Good point. The book should be an interesting read!! catlover79 06-23-2009, 04:11 PM Well, I read the book. It's not really an autobiography, because each chapter mentions just random things. But yes, he admitted that he slept with over 1000 women (and lost his virginity at age 12!!) - in high school he was in the coolest crowd and went to a lot of parties. The parties were really only about one thing. Later on he got married and settled down. He and his wife are still together, I believe. Torgo 06-23-2009, 06:18 PM Well, I read the book. So he slept with 1000 women in 9 years(or less depending how long he and the first wife dated), of course that's assuming he was constantly with women since the age of 12. I guess he could have worked some of them in during recess, after Cub Scout meetings, in between tapings of 'Leave it to Beaver', during tapings... IF by chance he did sleep with all these women, I have an easier time believing it was up into his adulthood and during his 3 marriages. MickeyMac 06-23-2009, 08:37 PM Well if Frank Bank did sleep with all of those women then he probably strayed on his marriage. catlover79 06-23-2009, 08:49 PM 1000? Not buying it. Myself, I take it with a grain of salt. He claims there's no way that Wilt Chamberlain slept with 5,000 women. Now THAT I believe. Marvo301 06-23-2009, 09:17 PM To me relationships are about quality not quantity! catlover79 06-23-2009, 09:18 PM To me relationships are about quality not quantity! AMEN!! Dusty's Fan 06-24-2009, 08:21 PM Lots of celebs have exaggerated their prowess; Burt Ward and Adam West would have us believe that they sacked practically every attractive woman on Batman (and there were many). Reading Ward's comments, it seems that women were constantly after him like mad. I thought I had read somewhere that Frank was well-endowed or well-hung, but I don't know if that was just a claim of his or if there's any credence. catlover79 06-24-2009, 08:32 PM Lots of celebs have exaggerated their prowess; Burt Ward and Adam West would have us believe that they sacked practically every attractive woman on Batman (and there were many). About that last comment - as Phoebe Buffay would say: "MY EYES!! MY EYES!!"   Dusty's Fan 06-24-2009, 08:45 PM So because "The Lump" was overweight, he couldn't have a "nice package?" LOL - ROFLMAO I won't even mention Milton Berle... Someone once had a thread on the subject at IMDb. And books on the making of the Reeve Superman films mention how female staff took notice of Chris' attributes (tight shorts, don't you know!). catlover79 06-24-2009, 08:52 PM So because "The Lump" was overweight, he couldn't have a "nice package?"
