View Full Version : The shocking disappearance of Claudia Kirschoch
wiseguy182 09-30-2007, 03:16 PM my play on words was shocking(ly awful) :D
What did you guys and gals think about this one? It all points to somebody in Jamaica being responsible for me: disturbing evidence before the investigation could start, video tape being taped over before it could be viewed, etc. They did mention a disappear on her own accord angle, but this is one instance where it seemed extremely far-fetched.
The sad thing is, she wasn't even supposed to be in Jamaica. :(
Any thoughts?
asmitty 09-30-2007, 05:24 PM I just watched this case last night. Cuz I just got my volume 11 disc in the mail. It seems to me that she is probably dead in Jamaica. I don't think the bartender killed her but I do think he knows more than he told. It is not the shady angles placed on the resort's behavior that has me thinking foul play though. I've seen instances of sloppy behavior that was not shady. For example, I ran a retail store a few years ago and we got hit bad by a shoplifter one night. The next day when the police came to fill out a report (non-emergency theft calls usually had to wait til next day) the closing manager from the night before had failed to change out security tape from the night before and so the evidence was lost. Oops, but not a malicious thing at all. I still think she's dead but I also cannot completely discount the seductive lure a place like Jamaica can have on a person BUT with as much time as her parents have seemed to spend there since her disappearance it seems a little out there that they wouldn't have found anyone who has seen her since.
crystaldawn 09-30-2007, 09:42 PM Well I tend to think that Claudia met with foul play. I think the bartender should be one of the lead suspects. Didn't police dogs find her scent in his car and room? I think a possible scenario could have been a sexual assault and she was killed so she wouldn't talk or maybe Claudia overdosed on drugs and the person she was with feared they would be implicated. I don't really buy that she's on some secluded part of Jamaica with some "rastafarian".

Absolutely; I read that her scent was found in the bartender's car and room. What the heck then, why no arrest or any new info????

I know there are women whose scent could be found in my car and room but I didn't kill any of them.

I think we got enough hilarious posters on here to make up a new sitcom - sure could beat the pants off of anything on tv today.
DarkDante 10-02-2007, 02:22 AM Well have any of you ever seen the film "Turistas"? - Its a horror film but its based on some real scary things that happen in places like Jamaica, South America, Haiti. In a lot of these countries human trafficing for sex slaves, organ transplants etc are all too common and are likely responsible for the disappearances of a lot of tourists who go missing while on vacation to these exotic places.
The economic situation in these countries is not exactly what it is here in the United States which leads to a lot of desperate people and situations that could've resulted in the disappearance of Claudia Kirschoch, Lisa Bishop and numerous others. Its interesting to note that most people who disappear are young attrative women in their 20s like Bishop for example. You rarely hear stories about say people in their 40s-60s vanishing.
So yeah in my opinion Kirschoch is likely the victim of some type of crime here either to do with sex slavery or the organ trade. Either way the likelyhood in my mind that she is still alive is very very slim.

People getting their info based on Turistas? What's next, not going to Europe because of Hostel?
silverstang84 10-07-2010, 10:51 PM bartender either killed her or knows who did. then her body was probably disposed of in the ocean. just my .02. sad case.

I think so too. I doubt that there's anything more complicated to it than that. She was a foreigner alone on an island and would have been a fairly easy target for a predator.

I had thought this also, but if so would a body not have washed up by now?
scc1222 03-09-2013, 07:15 AM I just wanted to add,the hotel chain where Claudia was staying rotates their employees (or at least they used to back then) and so the bartender,or anyone else there who might have done it,could be at any of those resorts.
Never think you are ok just because you are staying at a different resort where someone went missing,if it's from the same chain or management.

I believe she was sold into Sex Slavery like Amy Bradley and possibly Natalee Holliway

I agree with this assessment. There isn't a lot of evidence to indicate that anything having to do with human trafficking is what happened to her.

Everything about this case says that the Jamaican authorities and media painted Claudia as "adventurous" who left willingly, but they don't say that this was an elaborate ruse by the PR head of the Sandals resort where she was staying. He admitted to making this up to save his job. I'm amazed that nothing has come out in the years since her disappearance. Grant knows more than he's telling.
LooksLikeCRicci 11-16-2020, 02:01 PM Oh, for sure. I'm with you, though. It's so obvious that Sandals was orchestrating a cover-up of the situation. I understand that tourism is a huge part of their economy, but come on....
DALLASTEXAN!! 11-17-2020, 09:37 PM I never knew that. But yeah the theories presented in the segment are so weak, I guess I got caught up in the show always presenting multiple angles. Not to get off topic, but it kind of reminds me how dale kerstetter’s employer was set on smearing his reputation rather than take any responsibility for any poor practice that led to the robbery. The maids cleaned her room and the security records weren’t kept. Wasn’t there also a hit on a knife or the suspects trunk? Yet they eliminated him...?
