View Full Version : N@N has confused the hell out of me tonight, the opening credits for George Lopez and
TVFactFan 09-30-2007, 12:14 AM Home Improvement are SHORTER than the frsh Prince Opening credits but N@N makes a decision to shorten the opening credits of those shows and NOT FRESH PRINCE?????
FP opening credits is like 3 min long and they make the opening credits to those shows shorter?-lol The people at N@N has finally gone crazy
DSfan 09-30-2007, 12:59 AM How did they shorten Home Improvement? it is like 20 seconds long and every second shows a cast member so it is necessary

Ok well I noticed the difference in the GL opening and I just feel they can shorten the long a$$ FP opening that makes me feel like I'm watching a music video
JulieSomoski 09-30-2007, 12:15 PM I noticed that too, with Home Improvement. The original credits were really cool for Home Improvement, about 40 seconds, and NAN decides to remove all the cool parts, not even credit the 3 boys, and make it 20 seconds, where as they keep the Fresh Prince credits 2 minutes. I don't get it either. As much as they show FP, you'd think they would have shortened the credits already.

SO N@N did shorten the HI opening right? I knew it was a lot fastee in the past couple of days.

yeah, they shortened all 3 versions of it, which is a shame, because HI had one of my favorite openings, without edits. FP had one of the most irritable credits IMO, especially after hearing it 10 times a night

Yeah even TBS was wise enough to stop making viewers hear-"IN WEST PHLADELPHIA BORN AND RAISE, ON THE PLAYGROUNDS IS WHERE I SPENTMOST OF MY DAYS
LOL-I'm so sick of hearing that sh*T

Espcially when they air episode after episode of it. I was enjoying FP only being on a few times a night. Now they're bringing back the marathons, giving it extra airings nightly . . . I just don't get why this show continues to be popular.

I know why the show is popular but the opening needs to be CHOPPED badly and only heard on DVD

I haven't even touched my FP DVD's in quite awhile. I seriusly am considering selling them soon . . . they're doing nothing but taking up shelf room and collecting dust.
Why is FP so popular? I know it may have to do with kids watching the show, plus new viewers tuning in every day to see it, but still, it surprises me as to how popular the show has been on the network for 3 years straight.

The link summed it up perfectly-"It's a great fall back show"
A show that you can just fall back and relax and laugh because it's not too serious and not too silly.

Someone at N@N probably has an addiction to the show.

I can't stand FP anymore, so I haven't bothered to see how the opening theme is.
TBS shortened the FP theme? How so?
I did watch the opening theme to HI last night and it was indeed very edited. I didn't pay attention to GL theme.
The theme for Roseanne was done very wisely. Roseanne didn't want her theme edited or cut down, so she had a long camera shot done and it rotates in one smooth cut so there is no way it could be edited or cut like HI is. Very smart lady.

ON TBS, it's just the theme not the FP lyrics

That's how N@N should do it then. Hell, if they can shorten all the other shows, why not?

That's what I'm confused about

That was a smart way to do it - that way, you either get to see the long version, or just the sped up short version. They really should have made the FP credits shorter when it was on originally. Leaving them over a minute in 1996 was insane . . . shows back then were already beginning to ditch the opening credits altogether. They could have at least given us a shorter theme, without words, just so it's bearable to watch

They had to of course let Will do what he did best, rap. And it was that style that made him and DJ Jazzy Jeff famous. They had those little story telling rap songs. I guess they wanted to let people know who were watching the show the first time, what it was abt, since the theme song tells how it is Will came to live in Beverly Hills.

yeah, but you'd think the viewers (the ones that actually stuck around all 6 seasons) would know how the show goes. By '95 they could have given us a different theme, and different opening credits. It just got boring to watch episode after episode.
yankeesfan82 10-01-2007, 09:13 PM Yup. Another air of FP. 9PM replacing HI. HI is now only on at 930PM. Then 12AM-1AM.

Yeah, I agree. I am merely saying why the theme was rather long for a tv show. I am not saying it should be continued to play ALL THE WAY THROUGH after all these years.
TVFactFan 10-01-2007, 11:51 PM The way N@N is treating FP is like me wearing my favorite shirt every day-lol
dawsongirl 10-02-2007, 01:51 AM The GL opening makes me mad, because it is clearly not from the first season. It's from the last couple, not the first. Show the correct opening, dammit.

You didn't even see a theme that long in the 80's let alone mid-90's. They should have cut it down to at least 40 seconds be the last few seasons. Shows like The Drew Carey Show and Sabrina the Teenage Witch didn't even use opening credits then.
